Signature Move / Pokémon Rejuvenation

Go To

The Gym Leaders of Pokémon Rejuvenation tend to be tougher than they are in the main series. (So are the rivals, the enemy teams, and... pretty much everyone).

One way that this is shown off is the fact that, as of V13, every single Gym Leader (plus a few other characters) in the game has a Pokémon move of their type, that is completely unique to them.

Here they are.

  • Venam's special move is Venam's Kiss, which bypasses the normal immunity that Steel Pokémon have to Poison attacks to deal super effective damage.
  • Keta (and later, Aelita) have the move Gale Strike, which is guaranteed to hit critically if the user's HP is below 50%.
  • Maria(nette) has the move Multipulse, which is effectively a weakened Judgement (it deals damage based on the Plate the user holds).
  • Narcissa has Spectral Scream, which has a 60% chance to raise either Defense or Special Defense. It can be countered with Soundproof, thankfully.
  • Madame X's Yveltal has the move Decimation - a base 100 power attack that also has the same priority as Quick Attack, and also inflicts you with the unique Petrification status (think Leech Seed but as a non-volatile status) and has a built-in Mold Breaker effect (though as of the latest version, it doesn't affect Pokémon with Comatose).
  • Valarie has Aquabatics, which raises her Pokémon's Special Attack and Speed by one stage each.
  • Crawli's signature technique is Barbed Web, which deals damage to both targets in a double battle with a chance to poison.
  • Angie has Cold Truth - a move that has a base power of 95 even before the boost from her field is taken into account, and also inflicts Torment.
  • Amber's Fever Pitch is somewhat unique in that it functions similar to Magnitude, but can roll higher multipliers based on how much Hype her field effect has - and at maximum power, it's 130 damage even before you account for any boosts or STAB.
  • Erick has the move Thunder Raid, which is literally an Electric-Type Triple Axel.
  • Flora and Florin have the move Uproot, which has a base power of 90 - and is also guaranteed to drop your Special Defense by two stages. Proceed with caution.
  • Lavender's special move, Pyrokinesis, has a 30% chance to burn the target (good, for typically-frail Glass Cannon Psychic types).
  • Magenta and Neon have the move Bunraku Beatdown, which deals more damage for each Pokémon on their team that has been knocked out - from a base power of 75, with 15 for each unconscious ally, to a max of 150.
  • Souta has Heavenly Wing, which never misses - and also applies a Haze effect to the targeted Pokémon, dropping all of your stat changes to 0.
  • Adam has Matrix Shot, which is a Rock-type inverted Psyshock - it uses physical Attack vs the target's Special Defense, something that the typically bad with Special attacks Rock type sorely needed.
  • Ryland has Desert's Mark, a move that is truly fitting for a Stone Wall team - it applies Sand Tomb, makes the targeted Pokémon vulnerable to sandstorm damage, and makes them Ground type to boot.
  • Saki has Super U.M.D. Move (short for Super Ultra Mega Death Move), which not only has a base power of 100, but deals damage based on which of the target's defense stats are lower, much like Shell Side Arm.
  • Melia has a multiple-stage signature move - from Gold Arrow, a Normal move with a base power of 50, then Gilded Arrow, a base 80 damage move with an increased critical hit chance which deals type damage based on the secondary type of the user - and finally, Gilded Helix, which has the same effect as Gilded Arrow - only now, it has a base power of 50, and hits twice.
  • And last: you get an exclusive Z-Crystal, the Interceptium-Z, that gives you access to four special moves (All regardless of whatever moveset your Pokémon has, since they outright replace any move and their typings depend on the Pokémon currently holding the item): Blinding Speed, a damage dealing move with very high priority that deals damage based on your priority type; Unleashed Force, a hard-hitting move that deals damage based on the Pokémon's Hidden Power type and breaks Light Screen and Reflect; Domain Shift, a move that changes the current field effect to a random one, and a fourth one depending on which route you're currently into. Paragon Route players get Elysian Shield, which is a combination of Aurora Veil and Cosmic Power, while Renegade Route players get Chthonic Malady, a move that inflicts the unique Petrification status on the opponent while also inflicting Torment and sharply reducing their Attack and Special Attack.
