• Multiple Earth songs make their way to Westeros in altered form:
  • A minstrel employed by Renly sings an altered version of "Knocking on Heaven's Door".
  • During Jon and Natasha's wedding celebration, a minstrel sings "All Along The Watchtower".
  • Theon remembers hearing a minstrel singing a version of "The Gambler".
  • Bronn sings "Ain't No Rest For The Wicked" before the Battle of Blackwater Bay.
  • A minstrel sings Jay and the Americans' "Come a Little Bit Closer" during the fight at the Blue Oyster.
  • For his duel with Yunkai's champion, Deadpool has several Second Sons sing "X Gonna Give It To Ya" as his Theme Music.
• Tyrion thinks the reason Joffrey wanted to kill Ned is that he listened to the imaginary spider on his shoulder that is always telling him "You should eat Lord Baelish!"
• Tyrion accidentally calls Sam Samwise instead of Samwell. Also a reference to how George R. R. Martin acknowledged that the latter is an Expy of the former.
• Tyrion employs a spy named Mikael Westerling.
• The Night's Queen states that a man is nothing but "a miserable little pile of secrets".
• Catelyn gives a speech swiped from Downton Abbey about how everyone eventually dies, so they might as well be happy while they can.
• Rhodey worships the Endless.
• The fighting styles conversation in Chapter 20 is one to the fanfic A Video Game of Thrones
• Arya claims that the Lannister troops have started saying of Ned Stark that the worst thing is he never raises his voice, and he was actually being kind by staying out of Westeros political affairs. The episode the line is taken from even featured two Game of Thrones actors, Harry Lloyd and Thomas Brodie-Sangster.
  • When asked where she came up with the idea Arya states it is based on a story Old Nan told of "The Lonely God", one of the many nicknames for the Doctor.
    • When seeing moving statues, Arya remembers that some of the tales were about the Lonely God's battles against the Sobbing Statues - clearly the Weeping Angels.
• Tony employs a gifted but angry chef named Gurdon.
• Among Tony's many belongings is a puzzle modeled after the great pyramid of Mereen which supposedly holds the spirit of a lost king.
• Maester Maxell of Harrenhal mentions that he regards the whole "Maesters serve the castle and those who hold it" thing as "Guidelines rather than rules".
• Tony once almost hired a fool who liked to dance and talk about floating things, but who smelled like he lived in a sewer.
• Maester Maxell or rather, Magneto mentions that he is never late nor early, but arrives precisely when he means to.
  • He also mentions one of his nicknames as "The White Pilgrim" also referencing the above.
• One scene in Qarth shows a group of merchants passive-aggressively competing over who has the better designed personal flag, in a clear reference to the business card scene in American Psycho. To drive the point home, one of the men is named "Baetmin" (as in, Bateman).
• When Tyrion said that he wouldn't turn down having sex with Catelyn Stark if she's willing, a disgusted Clynt says "that vision will replace the kraken in my nightmares".
• Jane's vow to kill Amora is taken from God of War (PS4).
• Daenerys quotes 300 when talking of the House of the Undying twice: "We'll put that name to the test" and later "They failed (her) test"
• When Loki explains his reasons for behaving so staunchly and honorably as Davos Seaworth he says that "Loki Odinson has played many roles on Asgard...but never the straight man...What if I tried to out Stark the Starks?" This is pretty much word for word the reason for Puck's motivations in Gargoyles.
  • Word of God has confirmed to reviewers that he did this utterly on purpose. Mr. Chaos has also tweeted several times that the Puck reveal was one of his favorite scenes in Gargoyles.
• Wyman Manderly's plan to sell ice to warmer climates is, by admittance of Word of God, a reference to And the Giant Awoke.
• Rickon Stark once happened on a herd of scythe-clawed dragons, and the blue one kinda liked him.
• The Bonus Material at the end of chapter 48 of A Crack of Thunder mentions The Last Son and Child of the Storm, with Deadpool Breaking the Fourth Wall to make clear that no, they're not going to include DC and make it a Massive Multiplayer Crossover like The Last Son, let alone a Massive Multiplayer Crossover like Child of the Storm.
• When the Brotherhood of the Blackfyres are debating what to name the dragon that will eventually be called Lockheed, Toad and Gendry put their heads together and finally come up with... Tim. ('It had been decided not to let Toad or Gendry name anything ever again.')
• Pepper remembers an old YiTish man in Pentos who sold artifacts and oddities in his shop called Uncle who always claimed that "only magic can defeat magic". Fury mouthes "Captain Black" at Phyllup.
• Jaime and Meera debate whether stories of people in Yi-Ti who can bend the elements are true or not.
• Oberyn mentions a Ben the One who stood on high ground and spoke about certain points of view.
• The best knife-thrower in Westeros, Wyco, was challenged and beat by a six year old kid.
• To mock how he's sure their trip to the Wall will end in death, Jaime goes to sleep each night saying "Good night, Bran, good work, sleep well, you'll most likely get me killed in the morning."
• When meeting with Natasha and Jon after fighting the Vulture on the barge, Miles has this to say, drawn from DuckTales (2017):
  Miles: So I have....six different apologizes depending on how mad you are at us.
  Jon: Close the door.
  Miles: Oooh...you're that mad.
• Adrian once knew two maesters named Len and Shellie. Shellie tried to get his help for a Zany Scheme lifted directly from an episode.
• Dolorous Edd's mother used to tell him every night, "Good night Edd, good work, sleep well, the Mountain Clans will most likely kill you in the morning."
• During Jon's first scene in Book 4, some of the petitioners before the Iron Throne include claims that beings from the stars who can turn into wagons and boats are fighting a secret war, the Sunset Sea is being prowled by a fire-breathing lizard that is guarding an island of skulls inhabited by a giant ape, and a bear that ate tons of spice is now rampaging through the forests.
• A Yi Ti monk disappeared with four baby turtles after the Greyjoy Rebellion.
