- In "Sexual Harassment", Michael compares him and his employees to the main characters of Friends, but Michael, being Michael, thinks Dwight is Kramer's counterpart.
- "Halloween":
- Dwight dresses up as a Sith Lord.
- "Performance Review":
- Dwight quotes Lex Luthor and namedrops Smallville afterwards.
- In "Boys and Girls" when the office workers meet the warehouse workers, Dwight says, "Remember on Lost when they met the Others?"

- "The Convict" has "Prison Mike" claiming that the scariest thing about prison is the Dementors.
- "The Negotiation" has these after Dwight is hailed as a hero for saving Jim from Roy and then has his weapons confiscated by Toby.Dwight: I am not a hero. I am a mere defender of the office. [shot of Toby confiscating all of Dwight's weapons] You know who is a real hero? Hiro, from Heroes. That's a hero. Also, Bono.Dwight: No, don't call me a hero. Do you know who the real heroes are? The guys who wake up every morning, and go into their normal jobs and get a distress call from the commissioner, and take off their glasses and change into capes and fly around fighting crime.
