Sandbox / Fire Ice Lightning Wick Check

I've seen multiple Fire, Ice, Lightning examples along the lines of "It's this trope but one of the elements is swapped for a different one", so I think there may be an "elemental trio" Missing Supertrope.

Fire, Ice and Lightning are a trio
  • The Year Without a Santa Claus: The Miser Brothers supply the first two, of course, while Mother Nature causes bolts of lightning when she summons and scolds them.
  • Slugterra: Eli's primary slug is an Infurnus, and the first slug he wins in a battle is a Tazerling. Frostcrawler completes the trio.
  • VideoGame.Opoona: The Fire, Ice, and Thunder Coats, which also have upgrades in the Solar Coat, Frozen Coat, and Plasma Coat. There's also elementals known as the Fire Hair, Plasma Hair, and Ice Hair.
  • Characters.Twitch Plays Pokemon Black 2: Emboar, Feraligatr, Sceptile, as representatives of the three starter elements, bound together to defy the cycles of their predecessors.

Some other elements are a trio
  • Across Universes: Slightly subverted in Hydronix's case, with Lightning replaced with Water.
  • Pokémon Gym Leaders: Johto: Inverted. Clair has three Dragonair, invoking the same motif of Lance's three Dragon-types, but while Lance uses the trope straight, Clair uses an arrangement of Water, Ice, and Lightning. Eh? That's not an inversion, that's just not the trope.

Fire, Ice and Lightning are available as attacks/damage types

Fire, Ice and Lightning are the most common/the only options available
  • Our Zombies Are Different: Atronachs are a type of unaligned lesser Daedra which are essentially the Elemental Embodiments of the elements they represent. The most common are the Flame (also known as "Fire"), Frost, and Storm varieties.
  • Whatevermancy: Combined with Fire, Ice, Lightning in Devil May Cry 2, resulting in Pyromancers, Auromancers, and Brontomancers.
  • Elemental Rock-Paper-Scissors: Against Lightning — Normally, fire is neutral against lightning, but in a few case where are few elements available (such as in the form of Fire, Ice, Lightning) and they all form into a cycle, fire's effectiveness to lightning goes either away depending on Fire'e effectiveness against the third party.
  • Last Scenario: The main - and first - three elements of attack spells.
  • Tropes E to H: There are many recurring types of elemental attacks, but these three are by far the most prominent in the overwhelming majority of Final Fantasy games. Final Fantasy II adds Poison as a fourth element to the set, opposed to Lightning in a similar manner to Fire and Ice's obvious dichotomy. Final Fantasy X adds Water to the mix, similarly set in opposition to Lightning.
  • Fire Is Masculine: Ifrit, a fire-elemental summon who appears frequently in the games, is often characterized as hyper-masculine and aggressive. How demonic he looks may vary, but his masculinity and domain over flames remain consistent traits in every incarnation.
  • ElementalPowers.Video Games: Diablo II only uses Fire, Cold and Lightning. Fire deal the most consistent damage, ice is generally useful due to its incapacitating properties while lightning has the potentially highest but also the potentially lowest damage. • Extra Oredinary: Under Elder Scrolls - Atronachs are a type of unaligned lesser Daedra which are essentially the Elemental Embodiments of the elements they represent. The most common are the Flame (also known as "Fire"), Frost, and Storm varieties. Potholed under "Flame (also known as "Fire"), Frost, and Storm"
