I've seen multiple Fire, Ice, Lightning examples along the lines of "It's this trope but one of the elements is swapped for a different one", so I think there may be an "elemental trio" Missing Supertrope.

Fire, Ice and Lightning are a trio
- The Year Without a Santa Claus: The Miser Brothers supply the first two, of course, while Mother Nature causes bolts of lightning when she summons and scolds them.
- Slugterra: Eli's primary slug is an Infurnus, and the first slug he wins in a battle is a Tazerling. Frostcrawler completes the trio.
- VideoGame.Opoona: The Fire, Ice, and Thunder Coats, which also have upgrades in the Solar Coat, Frozen Coat, and Plasma Coat. There's also elementals known as the Fire Hair, Plasma Hair, and Ice Hair.
- Characters.Twitch Plays Pokemon Black 2: Emboar, Feraligatr, Sceptile, as representatives of the three starter elements, bound together to defy the cycles of their predecessors.
Some other elements are a trio
- Across Universes: Slightly subverted in Hydronix's case, with Lightning replaced with Water.
- Pokémon Gym Leaders: Johto: Inverted. Clair has three Dragonair, invoking the same motif of Lance's three Dragon-types, but while Lance uses the trope straight, Clair uses an arrangement of Water, Ice, and Lightning. Eh? That's not an inversion, that's just not the trope.
Fire, Ice and Lightning are available as attacks/damage types
- VideoGame.Bio Shock 2: Of the standard fire, ice, lightning variety, same as in the last game, along with one wind-based plasmid. Genes can influence your resistances to said elements and also cause you to emit them when struck. And if you enjoy using the drill, you can become a full-on ice guy with the Freezing Drill gene.
- DarthWiki.MESH: Three of the traps you can use. Fire causes enemies to receive a burning virus (i.e. burn), Ice gives them a lag (slowed down), and Lightning pierces armor and does extra damage to armored foes.
- VideoGame.Loadout: Fire and lightning both have payload types in the form of "Pyro" and "Tesla", with ice soon to be included as the "Cryo" payload.
- Blasting Time: Most nature-oriented (pothole) Mages in the Fire Emblem series use this form while casting spells.
- Characters.Kingdom Hearts Terra Aqua And Ventus: Under Elemental Powers:
- They run the gamut. They get Fire, Ice, Lightning, Aero, Cure, the Zero Gravity and Magnet series,
- Characters.Pokemon Generation I Bulbasaur To Parasect: Arbok knows the three elemental fang moves naturally, though you need the Move Relearner to make use of them.
- Characters.Steven Universe Other: The machine is able to attack using fire, ice, and electricity, with its eyes and crystals turning orange, blue, or yellow depending on what attack it'll use.
- VideoGame.Hyrule Warriors: There are also Light and Dark, but Fire, Water (often represented by ice), and Lightning are the most common elemental attack types.
- Characters.Have A Nice Death Video Game: Some of his available spells involve Stuff Blowing Up or Shock and Awe, and the Brutunhammer can inflict ice damage, although none of his spells do yet.
- The Binding of Isaac: Revelations: While Isaac already had the Tech items and Jacob's Ladder for lightning, Revalations adds in Burning Bush for fire and Ice Tray for… ice.
- Punishing: Gray Raven: Certain attacks have properties besides physical damage. There is fire, ice, and lightning, as per usual, but other elements, like Dark damage, also exist. Elemental Rock-Paper-Scissors is also in play as a result, with different enemies being weak or resistant to certain damage types.
- Bizarro Elements: The SNES version of Final Fantasy VI (released as III in the US) has Fire, Ice, Lightning, Wind, Water, Earth, Poison... and Pearl, actually a clumsy bit of censorship of what was originally "Holy", based on a superficial resemblance of the spell of that name to a string of pearls.
- Black Magician Girl: Her primary role in combat is to stand back and pelt the enemy with Fire, Ice, Lightning, not to get down in the mud, the blood and the beer with the melee types.
- Wizard101: The Fire, Ice, and Storm schools, with Fire and Ice having both an advantage and disadvantage with each other, while Storm takes on Myth in the same way.
- Dragon Sinker:
- As they can learn both Light and Dark Magic, they have a head start in learning Fire, Ice and Thunder spells.
- Like the party leader, they get to learn both Light and Dark Magic, so they have access to the elemental trinity.
- Characters.Monolith Enemies And Bosses: The sub-boss Thaumaturge utilizes this in its attacks. Presumably, fire and ice are taken from Daemon's head and Ice Wyrm's body segment, and lightning from Reactor's "eye".
- VideoGame.Operation Inner Space: All three are present with Fireballs, Snowballs, and Lightning.
- Fanfic.Embers Vathara}}: Zuko can wield, or at least redirect, all three after the early arcs. He is able to wield all three by Chapter 78.
- VideoGame.Okami: Amaterasu eventually learns to control all three. Also, the three ultimate weapons are perpetually lit up with their corresponding elements (reflector, rosary, and glaive, and in that order!), allowing you to use them as a source for the respective brush technique.
- VideoGame.Eitr:The Shield Maiden has access to these elements, manifesting as passive bonuses or effects to skills.
- Colour-Coded for Your Convenience: [...]this extends to the physical color of the laser cells when you have your laser equipped. In the case of the chemical tanks, the specific colors are also meaningful: red for napalm, blue for liquid nitrogen, yellow for electric gel (pothole)
Fire, Ice and Lightning are the most common/the only options available
- Our Zombies Are Different: Atronachs are a type of unaligned lesser Daedra which are essentially the Elemental Embodiments of the elements they represent. The most common are the Flame (also known as "Fire"), Frost, and Storm varieties.
- Whatevermancy: Combined with Fire, Ice, Lightning in Devil May Cry 2, resulting in Pyromancers, Auromancers, and Brontomancers.
- Elemental Rock-Paper-Scissors: Against Lightning — Normally, fire is neutral against lightning, but in a few case where are few elements available (such as in the form of Fire, Ice, Lightning) and they all form into a cycle, fire's effectiveness to lightning goes either away depending on Fire'e effectiveness against the third party.
- Last Scenario: The main - and first - three elements of attack spells.
- Tropes E to H: There are many recurring types of elemental attacks, but these three are by far the most prominent in the overwhelming majority of Final Fantasy games. Final Fantasy II adds Poison as a fourth element to the set, opposed to Lightning in a similar manner to Fire and Ice's obvious dichotomy. Final Fantasy X adds Water to the mix, similarly set in opposition to Lightning.
- Fire Is Masculine: Ifrit, a fire-elemental summon who appears frequently in the games, is often characterized as hyper-masculine and aggressive. How demonic he looks may vary, but his masculinity and domain over flames remain consistent traits in every incarnation.
- ElementalPowers.Video Games: Diablo II only uses Fire, Cold and Lightning. Fire deal the most consistent damage, ice is generally useful due to its incapacitating properties while lightning has the potentially highest but also the potentially lowest damage. Potholed under "Fire, Cold and Lightning"
- Extra Oredinary: Under Elder Scrolls - Atronachs are a type of unaligned lesser Daedra which are essentially the Elemental Embodiments of the elements they represent. The most common are the Flame (also known as "Fire"), Frost, and Storm varieties. Potholed under "Flame (also known as "Fire"), Frost, and Storm"
Other
- Abandon Ship: They'll go through everything; Fire, Ice, Lightning, nuclear explosions, you name it, but they're still sticking by their One True Pairing no matter what.
- Obligatory Joke: Puns are elemental to all three of Fire, Ice, Lightning:
- The Sun's Tear: The reason Shere Khan hates humans. He speaks of their mastery over the elements of Fire, Ice, Lightning and how they hurt animals, and states that Sanaya, despite being raised in the jungle, is no better than them because of her burning of the jungle. This was spoilered on the original page, IDK if I should leave it that way on here?
- Starter Mon: In Tropémon, the player is given the choice of Flara, Frosta, or Zappa to begin the game. Counts as a trio but I don't think I should use a hypothetical from a PW page as an example
- Astral Disaster: Arcadès' three kids, Sulfurite, Stalagmite and Fulgurite respectively. Also, Arcadès himself uses a lot of fire, while [[Antarès and Nebula]] are quite fond of lightning magic. Never explains the ice.
- Floating Castle: Self-explanatory. Healing is also a basic power, though.
- Chaos Field: Ifumi's "Flawed Red", Hal's "Mixed Blue", are Jinn's "Fake Yellow", respectively.
- Memoria: Delphia, like previous girls in the Mother series, wields elemental PSI.
- Web Video/Adventures: Not counting Grunlek (who does not have Elemental Powers until season 3), respectively B.O.B., Shin and Théo.
- Undead Counterpart: An enemy in a game that's an undead version of another enemy. Just like how many enemies have elemental variations, many enemies also have undead versions. Undead Counterparts may be based on mooks, mini-bosses, or even main bosses.
- Characters.Punishing Gray Raven Playable Constructs: Each of three of her four frames has one of per element.
- Pantheon.Pokemon
- Characters.Smite Arthurian Pantheon: But only the latter a little bit. It's really replaced by Arcane with regards to Merlin.
- Pantheon.Suicide And Sacrifice
- VideoGame.Dragon View: The magic rings. Commented out ZCE
- Characters.Final Fantasy XIV Healer Classes: The three main elements of conjury revolve around the life-giving elements of earth, water, and air to contrast with the destructive connotations of the Fire, Ice, Lightning elements wielded by thaumaturgy. Under Land, Sea, Sky
