Web Video

  • Vinny from Vinesauce often says or sings "Hello darkness, my old friend" when things are going badly for him, particularly in streams of Mario Kart 8.

Western Animation

  • Animaniacs (2020): The Pinky and the Brain sketch, "Narf Over Troubled Water", serves to be one big homage to Simon & Garfunkel, not least of which being the title, referencing Bridge Over Troubled Water. The two attempt to take over the world in The '60s as a duo band known as Brain and Narfunkel, with one of the songs they sing being called "I Ate a Rock". The ending references the famous ending to The Graduate, set to "Scarborough Fair" this time instead of "The Sound of Silence".
  • Darkwing Duck: In "Star-Crossed Circuits", after being flattened, Darkwing pops up and sings, off-key, "And here's to you, Mrs. Robinson..." before falling back on his face.
