  • A mid-2000s commercial for the (now defunct) cell phone company Cingular is an Affectionate Parody of the movie featuring recreations of different scenes of the movie, but replacing the Red Ryder BB Gun with "a Motorola C139 with texting, games, and graphics" as Ralphie is told by everyone that "you'll run the bill up". See it here.
  • Cartoon Network: A holiday-themed CN City bumper from 2004 has Dexter asking Santa Eustace for an atom-smasher, to which he replies "You'll shoot your eye out, kid!"
  • A 2013 holiday-themed Delta Airlines safety video has a passenger put away his leg lamp, to demonstrate how some items may not be used at any point during the flight.

  • How I Met Your Mother: "How Lily Stole Christmas" has a parody of the "didn't say 'fudge'" scene.
    Ted: Hey, Marshall. Still moping on the couch about Lily? Forget about her. You need to get over that Grinch.
    Future Ted: But I didn't say Grinch. I said a bad word. I said a very, very bad word.
    Ted: Oh, fudge.
    Future Ted: But I didn't say fudge.
  • The Goldbergs episode "A Christmas Story" is a Whole-Plot Reference episode of the movie, from Adam and Barry getting their tongues stuck to a pole to the Goldbergs taking their neighbors the Kremps to a Chinese restaurant for Christmas dinner.
  • A 2007 episode of Mythbusters tested the "tongue sticks to frozen pole" myth and referencing this movie by name. Using both a human tongue and a pig tongue, the myth was deemed "Confirmed".

  • KeyWe: The intro screen for the Covert Decoders minigame features the message "Be sure to drink your Hazeltine".
  • Saints Row IV: The description of the Rubber Band Gun - Bloody Band skin ("You'll shoot your eye out") is a reference to A Christmas Story.
  • Skylanders: Giants: Eye-Brawl's Soul Gem upgrade is called "You'll Shoot Your Eye Out".

  • The Back at the Barnyard Christmas Special features Snotty Boy demanding a Red Rider Bee Bee TAZER with double pump battery life for extra painfulness.
  • In The Powerpuff Girls Christmas Special 'Twas The Fight Before Christmas, Buttercup asks Santa for an Official Red Ranger Carbine Action 200-Shot Range Mile Air Rifle. Princess then tells her that she'll shoot her eye out.
  • In Prep & Landing: Naughty vs Nice, Ralphie and the Goggles Kid are seen on line to see Santa in a flashback scene.
  • Teen Titans (2003) have a couple of references in the Season 4 Bizzaro Episode, Mother Mae-Eye. Beast Boy gets forced to wear a pink bunny suit lifted straight from this movie (which impedes his transformation abilities... somehow]] while Robin gets his birdarangs and weapons confiscated by the titular villain because "It's all fun and games until someone puts an eye out".
  • In the Family Guy episode Christmas Guy, Peter Griffin sees the carolers who sung deck the halls. Peter then tells the viewers that this film is incredibly racist.
    • In "The Peanut Butter Kid" Brian mentions the actor who played Flick among child actors that failed later in life.
  • In the What If…? (2021) episode "What if Happy Hogan Saved Christmas?", Justin Hammer's backstory has him reference Ralphie's line of wanting a "Red Ryder BB Gun", with one of his hostages even lampshading if it's from a movie, while his Russian hencemen bring up the famous leg lamp. Hammer tries to continue his backstory on why he didn't said gun until another hostage says that he didn't get one because "he'll shoot his eye out".
