• Bowdlerize: The scene where Lucy's true form is revealed. In the original, Icy undoes the spell; in the 4Kids version, Bloom discovers the truth and reverses the spell.
• Breather Episode: This episode is a breather from the major plotline before Bloom finds out a big secret in the next episode.
• Horrible Judge of Character: Lucy really should have known better than to trust the Trix into helping her with something without suspecting a potential double-cross from them.
• Disqualification-Induced Victory: Lucy wins the contest, mainly due to the Trix sabotaging the other contestants' performance. But just when she's about to be crowned, the Trix undo their spell and expose her true appearance to the crowd, completely humiliating her and getting her disqualified. Stella, the only contestant remaining due to the Trix's attempts to sabotage her performance failing, gets the crowned the winner.
• Yank the Dog's Chain: The Trix help Lucy to win the contest just so they can see how she'll feel after they expose the fact she's using magic to conceal her looks, which is against the contest's rules.
