When Polters from the Forbidden Forest come and begin turning people into plants, Yugo, Ruel and Sadlygrove Percedal journey into the woods to find the source. There, they meet Princess Amalia of the Sadida people and her bodyguard, the Cra archer Evangelyne. But the villainous Nox is always watching...
Tropes:
- Accidental Kiss: Sadlygrove gets turned into a plant while trying to get a kiss from Eva. When the spell is broken, he returns to normal and accidentally kisses Ruel on the lips, much to Rubilax' enjoyment.
- Distracted by the Sexy: In a blink-and-you-miss-it moment, when Eva removes her cloak to fight, Sadlygrove can be seen giving an amazed look at her breasts.
- Forced Transformation: Those who are touched by Polters become plant-versions of their former selves. The effect is undone by the end of the episode.
- Gem Tissue: Variation; the Soft Oak has a humongous emerald embedded in the trunk above his face.
- Identical Stranger: Apparently, Amalia is incredibly similar to "Leaf", someone who in the past was dear to Soft Oak.
- I Owe You My Life: Sadlygrove pledges himself to Yugo for saving him in the previous episode in this manner.
- Mood Whiplash: The heroes have undone the work of the Polters, and return home happy... and then Nox shows up.
- Papa Wolf: When Yugo is endangered by Nox, Alibert grows furious enough to break Nox's time-freeze spell and overpower him so much he's forced to teleport away. This, however, comes with a price.
- Pre-Asskicking One-Liner: Nox's entrance, complete with False Reassurance.Nox: Good morning, everyone, my name is Nox. Do as I say and everything will go... well... not that bad.
- Rapid Aging: Alibert's hair turns white as a result of Nox' glancing blow.
- Stealth Hi/Bye: One moment, the group is rejoicing the fact that everyone's back to normal and Alibert is human again... then out of the blue, Nox appears, one-liner first.
- Time Stands Still: Nox demonstrates once again this power, freezing everybody in time while he interrogates Yugo. Alibert manages to break the hold and attack him, however.
- Transflormation: The effect of a Polter's touch is to turn living creatures into vegetal statues, as several unlucky villagers (including Alibert) can attest.
- When Trees Attack: The main threat is the Soft Oak, a huge sentient tree living in the middle of the Forbidden Forest who was wounded by Nox's machines and tried to retaliate by sending the Polters to turn all humans into trees. Eventually Amalia manages to restore part of his health and pacify him. Right before meeting him, the group is attacked by four smaller living trees that they easily dispatch.
