Jade is in a snit over Hollywood Arts refusing to let her perform her new play, so Tori volunteers to find the money to fund the play, all while trying to convince the guys to try out a new Chinese restaurant she's found.

Tropes

  • Actually Pretty Funny: Tori does smile and giggle after Rex snarkily reads out a fortune cookie for Robbie. Beck also chuckles at another one Robbie gets.
  • Bad "Bad Acting": Trina faking a heart attack.
  • Bring Me My Brown Pants: Discussed by Tori and Jade after the latter sends Sinjin running for the hills.
Tori: You know, [Sinjin]'s only trying to make your play better.
    Jade: So?
Tori: So now he's got pee running down his leg!
Jade: I'm not responsible for Sinjin's bladder control or lack of it!
  • Dropped in the Toilet: On the play's opening night, Tori assures a panicking Jade there's nothing to worry about. Cue Cat showing up and saying she dropped her costume in the toilet.
Jade: *in a sarcastic Southern Belle accent* "Nothing to worry about!"
Tori: I don't talk like that!
  • High Hopes, Zero Talent: Mrs Lee, who's putting up the money for Jade's play in exchange for her daughter getting the lead, mentions her daughter didn't make it into Hollywood Arts. Her singing and acting make it clear why (she makes Trina look like a prodigy).
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: After promising Jade she'll find the money to put on her play, Tori asks Robbie and Beck if they'll loan her $3000. They promptly leave.
  • Stage Mom: Mrs. Lee shows shades of this.
  • "Well Done, Daughter!" Girl: Jade wants her father's approval regarding her play, particularly given his disdain for careers in the arts.
  • We Need a Distraction: To allow Jade to put on the play the way she wrote it for her father without Mrs. Lee's alterations, Andre and Trina go into her restaurant pretending to be a pair of celebrities to keep her distracted.
