I shook her hand, sealing the deal.
The Devil smiled, promising me the world.

Noah, a terminal cancer patient, is sent to undergo an experimental treatment by his wealthy parents, separating him from his boyfriend, Isaac. Although the institute's head, Dr. Lucie, promises that he will be cured, Noah suspects that something is not right.

Tropes featured in this episode:

  • And I Must Scream: Jacob refused to host Lucie's child, and was made into an involuntary orderly at the institute.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: Lucie successfully persuades Noah to accept becoming her child's vessel, turning him healthy but cold. Upon leaving the institute, he immediately breaks up with Isaac, the only tether to his old life.
  • Bedlam House: The institute where Noah is committed. All of the patients lose their sense of time, are tormented by nightmares, and are eventually sacrificed to the Devil.
  • Deal with the Devil: The Ingrams, the McAllisters, and other wealthy families made a pact with Lucie to grant them wealth in exchange for sacrificing some of their descendants to become her children's vessels. Noah, Izzy, and Jacob are all selected for the procedure. While Jacob resisted and was turned into an orderly at the facility, Izzy and, eventually, Noah, accept it.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: Considering that Noah is gay and very much in love with Isaac, the whole experimental treatment of him being committed into a questionable institution, where he slowly loses his identity over time, culminating in him breaking up with Isaac, is reminiscent of gay conversion therapy (except it works).
  • Grand Theft Me: One of Lucie's demonic children replaces Izzy's soul. Later, Noah suffers the same fate.
  • Hellish Pupils: Lucie has slit pupils. After Noah accepts her deal, he has them as well.
  • Morton's Fork: Judging by Jacob's fate, whether Noah accepts or refuses the deal with Lucie, he will be separated from Isaac forever.
  • Parental Neglect: Noah mentions that his parents rarely ever had time for him, and he can't even remember when they ever said "I love you" to him.
