A makeup tutorial video by internet artist Karine is disrupted when someone breaks into her house while she is filming, only to end up discovering something terrible.
Tropes featured in this episode:
- Dead Guy on Display: Jason's body is put on Karine's bed after Shawn kills him.
- Faking the Dead: Shawn pretends to be dead under the bed to validate Jason's fears, so the latter won't suspect him as being in on the plan.
- Foregone Conclusion: Since the tutorial video has effects and messages edited in, it's obvious that Karine succeeds in killing Jason.
- Human Resources: Karine uses Jason's blood as her makeup.
- Not the First Victim: Karine puts on her mask made from the skin of her victims. There are at least two different skin tones in the mask, showing that Jason was not her first time.
- Nothing Is Scarier: Type 3. The fact that there is a dead body under Karine's bed is not shown to the viewers from the beginning. Or the fact that the body, Shawn, is actually alive.
- Snuff Film: What the tutorial video actually is. Karine and Shawn film themselves killing Jason, using his blood as basis for the former's makeup. At the end of the video, it's revealed that both are members of a dark web community whose members consist of sadists and killers.
- Tap on the Head: Karine knocks Jason out by hitting his head with a sledgehammer.
- Trespassing Hero: Jason sneaks into Karine's house not to do harm on her, but to save his friend Shawn from her capture. Unfortunately for him, Shawn is in on the plan.
- Villain Protagonist: Karine is actually a serial killer, while Jason, the person who breaks in, is merely a boy who tries to free his friend from her grasp. Normally, in other horror movies, it's the other way around.
- Wounded Gazelle Gambit:
- Karine taunts Jason that she can just kill him and pretend to others that she was just defending herself, noting how he broke into the house of a "lonely young woman".
- Shawn lures Jason into Karine's house by claiming that she wouldn't let him out. He is actually in league with her, having been deliberately targeting Jason as Karine's victim for her new video.
