Discius blasts the darklings with lightning, but Zaraza laughs and points out they cannot be harmed in the darkness. They continue to ram the force field. Otomi says they fought the Forces of Darkness before and they specialize in human wave tactics. The lightning nearly hits the heroes, but Okiku, who specializes in lightning, absorbs it. A spot on the force field weakens. Otaki blasts it with fire, opening a hole. Otomi and Sekai dive through, as does Zaraza and a few of her winged darklings, but the hole closes before anyone else can get through. The other witches say they believe in Otomi and Sekai.
When they land, Sekai says he will take it from here and freezes time. The village looks deserted. He finds Zaraza and strips her naked. He ponders her shark-like teeth that look identical to the witches. He finds an underground cell, locked from the inside, where all the people are. He unfreezes time and asks what is going on. Esther, Aksho, and others explain that Discius confiscated their magic stones, preventing them from opposing him. He is also protected by a personal force field, so they locked themselves away for their own protection. They ask what a human can do.
Sekai holds up his golem Keystone and asks where Fury and Lucille are. Deciding they have a chance, Esther leaves the room and leads Sekai to another, but tells him to give up on Fury. They reach a cell holding Lucille and Sekai gives her the Keystone. Declaring that she must stop Discius, she summons a golem that looks like a giant version of Gankichi that smashes her out of the cell.
