Keeping time frozen, Sekai ogles several girls. He wonders why they all wear panties since they didn't exist during the Middle Ages back in his world. He says he can't give up and there must be a way. He goes to the royal library and reads the history books. He thinks the Nether Gate could be the key. He takes a break to strip and grope Lovisa's attendants, then complains that putting their clothes back is always the hardest part. So far, he's learned that Lovisa gained her magic by converting to the faith of Lavas, the God(dess) of the Netherworld.
Later, he returns to his original position and unfreezes time. He asks if they can handle the darklings for 24 days without him. Lovisa says they have many clerics so they probably could. Niña says if Bahamut comes back, she'll ask him to sink their ships to slow them down. They ask what he's going to do. He says he's going to go into the Nether Gate. They ask if he's gone crazy. He says he read the history books. Roughly 150 years ago, a man fell into the Nether Gate. Roughly 72 years ago, there was an incident where the Nether Gate opened by itself and ghouls emerged from it like what happened a few days ago. Fortunately, they were defeated, but before it closed, the same man emerged from it. He was 71 years old when he fell in, but he hadn't aged a day and he claimed almost no time had passed for him. His name was Nawara Kitmaru. He died of old age sometime after he returned, but he left behind a necklace with his family crest. Sekai holds it up. The King says he knows everyone in the city, but he's never seen that crest and he's never heard of a Kitmaru family. Sekai says that's because the Kitmaru family went extinct during the time Nawara was missing.
Sekai's point is: time moves slower on the other side of the Nether Gate, so if one enters it, they can go to the future. He compares it to the story of Urashima Taro and the Room of Spirit and Time, but everyone just gets confused because these stories don't exist in this world. He asks Lovisa to open the Nether Gate so he can enter it. She says that is really dangerous and asks why he won't just stay with them. He looks into her eyes and says risk is what being a Brave is all about. She blushes and says she will do it. She opens the Nether Gate and he says to remember to open it again on the 24th day when the full moon is up. He steps in, but Ranga suddenly follows him right before it closes.
Sekai finds himself in a barren wasteland with ghouls and other monsters wandering it. Ranga catches up to him and says not to run away from her because she wants the Life Stone. She asks what he is going to do, and he says he's just going to wait. She notices a flying monster approaching him from behind and screams for him to look out.
