Go To

The second episode of The Looney Tunes Show.

Daffy and Bugs get into a country club after stealing another member's ID number, where Bugs meets Lola Bunny and they fall in love. However, after getting to know Lola better, Bugs feels the need to break up with her.

This episode features the "I'm a Martian" Merrie Melodies music video and the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote short, "Bubble Trouble".

This episode provides examples of:

  • Accidental Proposal: Bugs plans to break up with Lola. As he approaches the table, he trips and drops a mint under his chair. As he kneels down to pick it up, Lola assumes he is proposing and immediately accepts.
  • Acronym and Abbreviation Overload: Unsurprisingly, the name of the Royal Oaks Glen Oaks Oakwood Oaks Country Club ends up being a bit difficult to remember. At the episode's end, when Daffy declares he dislikes the club, he simply states, "I hate this place!"
Daffy: Welcome to the R-O-eh, O-O— [Daffy takes off his hat to read it] "R.O.G.O.O.O.C.C".
  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: Bugs tries to get Lola to break up with him by dressing up as a woman and pretending to be an ex-girlfriend warning her to break up now or have her heart broken. Lola says that Bugs is a bad boy, which makes her want him even more.
  • Attractive Bent-Gender: Lola remarks that the Disguised in Drag Bugs was an ugly woman, which he takes offense to. Daffy and particularly Speedy disagreed, though.
  • Brick Joke: The membership number that Daffy uses ends up belonging to Lola's father.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After Lola's dad finds out Daffy stole his account. He punched Daffy in the face and he is forced to work at the club to pay him off.
  • Oh, Crap!: Daffy when Lola's father angrily approaches him about using his membership number.
  • Serial Spouse: PepĂ© Le Pew. When Lola suddenly says at the wedding that it's him she loves and wants to marry, he remarks that the eighth time is the charm.
  • Work Off the Debt: In The Stinger, Daffy works as a washroom attendant at the R.O.G.O.O.O.C.C. to pay off the debt he had run up on Walter's membership.
