This is the recap page for The Flintstones, the beloved Hanna-Barbera animated series best known as the first primetime animated series. It ran from 1960-1966 with 166 episodes over 6 seasons, a record amongst cartoons that would not be outdone until The Simpsons beat them in 1997.

    Season 1 

  1. The Flintstone Flyer – Fred feigns illness so he and Barney can get out of taking their wives to the opera, as the night coincides with a Bowling Championship.
  2. Hot Lips Hannigan – Fred believes he has made Wilma and Betty vanish, so he and Barney go to a nightclub.
  3. The Swimming Pool – Fred and Barney build a joint swimming pool in their backyards.
  4. No Help Wanted – Barney becomes a furniture repossessor.
  5. The Split Personality – Fred gets amnesia and believes he is a Casanova Englishman named Frederick.
  6. The Monster from the Tar Pits – A film crew from Hollyrock comes to Bedrock to film "The Monster from the Tar Pits" and Fred gets a job as a stand-in for the lead actor.
  7. The Babysitters – Fred and Barney agree to babysit Wilma's nephew, Egbert, but they also want to see a wrestling match.
  8. At the Races – Fred loses a bet at the dinosaur racetracks that costs him his entire paycheck, so he hides it by telling Wilma that he was robbed.
  9. The Engagement Ring – Barney gives Fred Betty’s gift – a belated engagement ring – for hiding, but when Wilma believes it’s for her, Fred needs to get a second ring.
  10. Hollyrock, Here I Come – Wilma and Betty win a trip to Hollyrock with Fred and Barney following them in secret.
  11. The Golf Champion – Fred's victory in The Loyal Order of Dinosaurs golf tournament is soured when club president Barney withholds his trophy for nonpayment of club dues. So Fred demands Barney to return everything he has borrowed.
  12. The Sweepstakes – Barney hides the sweepstakes ticket he and Fred have bought in the lining of an old coat, which Betty subsequently gives to a passing hobo
  13. The Drive-InFred and Barney secretly plan to buy a drive-in restaurant, but Wilma gets suspicious.
  14. The Prowler – A prowler is on the loose in Bedrock, but Fred refuses to let Wilma take judo lessons with Betty.
  15. The Girls’ Night Out – Fred and Barney decide to treat their wives to a night out at an amusement park, where Fred’s souvenir recording booth music disk turns him into an unwitting rock star.
  16. Arthur Quarry’s Dance Class – Fred and Barney secretly take dance lessons to avoid embarrassing their wives at the Charity Dance, but Wilma and Betty suspect their husbands are slipping out to meet other women.
  17. The Big Bank Robbery – Fred discovers a bag containing $86,000, but the money has been stolen from the bank, turning him into a prime suspect.
  18. The Snorkasaurus Hunter – The Flintstones and Rubbles go hunting for Snorkasaurus, and the wives insist one they caught become their family pet, Dino.
  19. The Hot Piano – Fred buys a piano from a shady businessman for Wilma on their wedding anniversary.
  20. The Hypnotist – Fred hypnotizes Barney into believing he is a dog.
  21. Love Letters on the Rocks – Fred finds a mysterious love poem for Wilma and hires detective Perry Gunnite (a parody of Peter Gunn) to find the homewrecker.
  22. The Tycoon – Fred switches places with the lookalike tycoon J.P. Gotrocks.
  23. The Astra’ Nuts – Fred and Barney accidentally join the Army and soon get scammed into a lunar-landing mission.
  24. The Long, Long Weekend – Fred’s pal Gus Gravel invites the Flintstones and Rubbles to his seaside hotel to pose as his staff (the previous staff all quit) for a convention.
  25. In the Dough – Fred and Barney disguise themselves as their wives to compete in a TV bake-off for them.
  26. The Good Scout – Fred becomes a Boy Scout leader.
  27. Rooms for Rent – Wilma and Betty rent out rooms to students to solve financial issues.
  28. Fred Flintstone: Before and After – Fred decides to lose weight by joining an overeaters group called "Foods Anonymous".

    Season 2 

  1. The Hit Songwriters – Fred and Barney write a song with the help of a con artist, but what they don’t realize is that their song is actually a plagiarism of Hoagy Carmichael's (who appears as himself) "Stardust".
  2. Droop-Along Flintstone – The Flintstones and Rubbles move to the west to take care of Cousin Tumbleweed's ranch.
  3. The Missing Bus – Fred becomes a school bus driver.
  4. Alvin Brickrock Presents – A parody of Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Fred believes that his new neighbor has murdered his wife.
  5. Fred Flintstone Woos Again – Fred takes Wilma on a second honeymoon, but finds out that their marriage was unlicensed. Meanwhile, Wilma plays hard-to-get due to her displeasure with Fred’s recent behavior.
  6. The Rock Quarry Story – Movie star Rock Quarry moves to Bedrock.
  7. The Soft Touchables – Fred and Barney become detectives – but not very good ones.
  8. Flintstone of Prinstone – Fred takes night classes at Prinstone University but ends up becoming a player on the football team.
  9. The Little White LieHilarity Ensues when Fred lies to Wilma about going to a poker game after she finds extra money on him.
  10. Social Climbers – Fred and Barney go to Charm School to look good for an exclusive and prestigious social event.
  11. The Beauty Contest – Fred’s boss, Mr. Slate, wants Fred to rig a beauty contest where he and Barney are the judges.
  12. The Masquerade Ball – Fred goes to Mr. Slate’s costume ball.
  13. The Picnic – Fred dumps Barney as his partner at the Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes’ picnic for his less-seen pal Joe Rockhead, causing much resentment.
  14. The House Guest – The Rubbles move into the Flintstones’ home while a plumber repairs theirs. However, tensions begin to rise amongst the two couples.
  15. The X-Ray Story – Wilma and the Rubbles believe that Fred has "dinopeptitis" when Dino’s x-rays are mistaken for his.
  16. The Gambler – Fred’s gambling addiction costs him nearly everything he owns to his Sitcom Arch-Nemesis Arnold the Paperboy.
  17. A Star is Almost Born – Wilma and Betty become commercial stars.
  18. The Entertainer – Fred must entertain a woman named Greta Gravel for Mr. Slate, but as Fred’s luck would have it, Wilma was Greta’s high school friend.
  19. Wilma’s Vanishing Money – Fred steals Wilma's money to buy a bowling ball and blames it on a burglar.
  20. Feudin’ and Fussin’ – Fred and Barney start a feud that quickly escalates when Barney sells his house to a rich Texan.
  21. Impractical Joker – Barney pretends to be a counterfeiter to get back on Fred’s constant pranks. Meanwhile, Wilma and Betty try to cure their husbands’ obsession with practical jokes.
  22. Operation Barney – Fred and Barney play Hooky to see a ball game and get out of work, but when Barney is believed to be seriously ill by his company, Fred has to pretend to be a doctor to get them out of the situation.
  23. The Happy Household – Wilma gets a role on the TV cooking show "The Happy Housewife".
  24. Fred Strikes Out – Fred has a bowling match on the night of the anniversary of Wilma accepting his marriage proposal, so he attempts to take her out at the same time he goes bowling.
  25. This is Your Lifesaver – Fred and Barney "save the life" of penniless J. Montague Gypsum, and now they have to take care of him.
  26. Trouble-in-Law – Fred’s mother-in-law, Mrs. Slaghoople, comes to visit, and Fred tries to get rid of her.
  27. The Mailman Cometh – Fred has to get back an angry letter he sent to Mr. Slate over a misunderstanding.
  28. The Rock Vegas Story – The Flintstones and Rubbles go to Rock Vegas, where Fred gambles all their money away. To get it all back, they get jobs at a hotel run by Fred’s old pal Sherman.
  29. Divided We Sail – Barney wins a houseboat and takes everyone on a cruise. Unfortunately, a prehistoric sea monster drags the boat way offshore.
  30. Kleptomaniac Caper – Fred believes Barney is a kleptomaniac.
  31. Latin Lover – Wilma convinces Fred to adopt a "Latin lover" image.
  32. Take Me Out to the Ballgame – Barney becomes a baseball coach while Fred is an umpire.

    Season 3 

  1. Dino Goes to Hollyrock – Dino becomes a co-star of a Lassie parody called Sassie.
  2. Fred’s New Boss – Fred gets Barney a job at the quarry Fred works at. However, Barney is quickly promoted to Fred’s boss, making Fred jealous.
  3. Barney the Invisible – Fred accidentally makes Barney invisible.
  4. Bowling Ballet – Fred takes ballet lessons to improve his bowling skills.
  5. The Twitch – Fred has to take the place of a pop star unable to perform at Wilma’s club function.
  6. Here’s Snow in Your Eyes – Fred and Barney go on a ski trip where they are secretly followed by Wilma and Betty.
  7. The Buffalo Convention – The Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes go to Frantic City for a convention, so Fred and Barney tell their wives they need an out-of-town break. Meanwhile, Wilma gets a talking dodo.
  8. The Little Stranger / The Little Visitor – Fred believes Wilma is having a baby, so he calls his mother-in-law over to help with the new arrival.
  9. Baby Barney – Fred’s rich Uncle Tex comes over, and Fred wants to be on his inheritance list. So, he tells Uncle Tex that Wilma has a baby boy named after him.
  10. Hawaiian Escapade – Fred and Wilma go to Hawaii to act as doubles for the Hawaiian Eye parody, Hawaiian Spy.
  11. Ladies’ Day – Fred and Barney disguise themselves as women to visit a baseball game on "Ladies’ Day".
  12. Nuthin’ but the Tooth – Barney has a toothache and needs to save money for a boxing match, so Fred takes him to the vet to save money. But, the anesthetic gases used on Barney cause him to float away.
  13. High School Fred – Fred returns to high school in order to earn his diploma.
  14. Dial ‘S’ for Suspicion – In this spoof of Dial M for Murder, Fred believes Wilma is going to kill him for life insurance money.
  15. Flashgun Freddie – Fred and Barney take up photography as a hobby.
  16. The Kissing Burglar – A romantic burglar targeting Fred's neighborhood befriends Wilma
  17. Wilma the Maid – Mr. Slate is coming to Fred’s place for dinner, so Fred hires a maid. However, Wilma has to take the maid’s place when she quits.
  18. The Hero – Fred accidentally takes Barney’s credit for saving a baby.
  19. The Surprise – Fred becomes resentful of how much time Barney spends with his nephew Marblehead. Meanwhile, Wilma has a surprise for Fred – she’s pregnant (for real)!
  20. Mother-in-Law’s Visit – Fred’s mother-in-law returns to help Wilma get ready for the baby while Fred becomes a nighttime cab driver.
  21. Foxy Grandma – Fred hires a sweet old housekeeper who turns out to be bank robber Grandma Dynamite.
  22. Fred’s New Job – Fred tries to find a higher-paying job to pay for the upcoming baby’s expenses.
  23. The Dress Rehearsal / Blessed Event – Fred and Barney do dress rehearsals for taking Wilma to the hospital. Later, the baby is to be born very soon, but Fred and Barney have gotten in some serious muddle-ups.
  24. Carry On, Nurse Fred – Fred has a difficult time helping Wilma take care of newborn daughter Pebbles.
  25. Ventriloquist Barney – Barney annoys Fred with his ventriloquist skills. Later, the two take Pebbles to see a wrestling match.
  26. The Big Move – Fred moves the family to an upper-class neighborhood.
  27. Swedish Visitors – Wilma rents their house to some Swedish musicians without Fred’s knowledge.
  28. The Birthday Party – Wilma and the Rubbles plan a surprise birthday party for Fred.

    Season 4 

  1. Ann-Margrock Presents – Ann Margrock (voice of the real Ann-Margaret) comes to town for a big concert and stays with the Flintstones.
  2. Groom Gloom – Arnold the Paperboy turns out to be quite good with Pebbles, to Fred’s annoyance. Later, Fred dreams that Arnold will marry his grown-up daughter.
  3. Little Bamm Bamm – Barney and Betty adopt a super-strong boy named Bamm Bamm.
  4. Dino Disappears – Dino runs away from home when Fred forgets his birthday.
  5. Fred’s Monkeyshines – Fred gets glasses, but they’re of the wrong type for him. This causes problems when he mistakes a circus monkey for Pebbles.
  6. The Flintstone Canaries – Fred and Barney enter a singing contest in this parody of Sing Along with Mitch
  7. Glue for Two – Fred and Barney accidentally superglue themselves to Barney’s bowling ball.
  8. Big League Freddie – Fred tries out for Major League Baseball.
  9. Old Lady Betty – Betty gets a part-time job to get Barney a rocking chair by running errands for an old lady, who is actually a counterfeiter gun moll.
  10. Sleep on Sweet Fred – Wilma and Betty start to hypnotize Fred and Barney while they sleep in order to get lavish gifts and nicer treatment, but the husbands catch wind of it and plan to get them back.
  11. Kleptomaniac Pebbles – Pebbles is displaying kleptomania, which a jewel thief uses to plant a diamond necklace into Pebbles’ carriage.
  12. Daddy’s Little Beauty – Fred accidentally enters Pebbles into a beauty contest for young women.
  13. Daddies Anonymous – Fred and Barney begin taking Pebbles and Bamm Bamm for walks, but soon start bringing the babies with them to a weekend club
  14. Peek-A-Boo Camera – In this parody of Candid Camera, Fred and Barney secretly go to a bachelor party and find out it will be shown on their wives’ favorite show "Peek-A-Boo Camera". Now, they have to get the scene cut out before it gets shown on TV.
  15. Once Upon a Coward – After Fred gets mugged, he starts to believe Wilma thinks he’s a coward. To prove her wrong, he plans to nab the mugger by himself.
  16. Ten Little Flintstones – Alien invaders send ten robot doppelgangers of Fred to Earth, causing havoc in Bedrock.
  17. Fred El Terrifico – Fred, Wilma, Betty, and Barney take a trip to Rockapulco, where Mexican jewel thieves pretend to befriend Fred to frame him
  18. The Bedrock Hillbillies – Fred and Wilma get into a feud with a hillbilly family called the Hatrocks, who have been long-time enemies with the Flintstone’s hillbilly relatives.
  19. Flintstone and the Lion – Fred adopts a kitten that quickly turns out to be a lion.
  20. Cave Scout Jamboree – Fred takes his and Barney’s family on a camping trip, but a cave Scout Jamboree is being held nearby.
  21. Room for Two – Fred and Barney build a new room onto Fred's house, but when a disagreement leads to the discovery that Fred’s new room is partially on Barney’s property, a property dispute ensues.
  22. Ladies’ Night at the Lodge – Wilma and Betty disguise themselves as men to see what Fred and Barney do at the Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes.
  23. Reel Trouble – Fred becomes obsessed with making home movies about Pebbles.
  24. Son of Rockzilla – Fred gets a job as a suit actor for the monster movie "Son of Rockzilla".
  25. Bachelor Daze – The Flintstones and the Rubbles reminiscence about the first time they met.
  26. Operation Switchover – Fred and Wilma trade their roles.

    Season 5 

  1. Hop Happy – Barney and Betty get a pet "hopparoo" named Hoppy for Bamm Bamm.
  2. Monster Fred – Fred reverts to childhood after getting hit on the head, and the only doctor Barney can find is a mad scientist with a personality-swap machine.
  3. Itty Bitty Fred – Fred accidentally shrinks himself.
  4. Pebbles’ Birthday Party – Pebbles celebrates her first birthday, but Fred also has to arrange a party for the Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes. The result is a major mix-up.
  5. Bedrock Rodeo Round-Up – Fred is dismayed that Pebbles seems to love rodeo star Bony Hurdle more than him, so he enters the Bedrock Rodeo to prove his love
  6. Cinderellastone – Fred is unhappy to learn that he has not been invited to Mr. Slate’s party, and dreams that he is Cinderella and his fairy godmother is helping him go to the party.
  7. A Haunted House is Not a Home – In this spoof of House on the Haunted Hill, Fred must stay in his late Uncle Giggles' home for one night to win his fortune.
  8. Dr. Sinister – In this James Bond spoof, Fred and Barney are captured by a supervillain named Dr. Sinister and aided by Madame Yes.
  9. The Gruesomes – The Flintstones’ new neighbors are the macabre Weirdly, Goblin, and Creepella Gruesome in this parody of The Addams Family and The Munsters.
  10. The Most Beautiful Baby in Bedrock – Fred enters Pebbles in a beauty contest for babies while Barney enters Bamm Bamm into the same one.
  11. Dino and Juliet – Dino falls in love with the pet dinosaur of Fred’s feuding neighbor, Mr. Loudrock
  12. King for a Night – The King of Stonesylvania visits Bedrock and finds that he looks exactly like Fred, so the two swap places for his stay.
  13. Indianrockolis 500 – Fred and Barney enter their sports car into the Indianrockopolis 500.
  14. Adobe Dick – Fred and Barney are swallowed by a whale.
  15. Christmas Flintstone – In the show's Christmas Episode, Fred becomes a Mall Santa and does such a good job at it that Santa’s Elves recruit him to save Christmas when the real Santa falls ill.
  16. Fred's Flying Lesson – Fred takes flying lessons.
  17. Fred's Second Car – Fred buys a gangster's car from a police auction, attracting the attention of the car’s former owners.
  18. The Time Machine – The Flintstones and the Rubbles visit a time machine exhibit at the World Fair.
  19. The Hatrocks and the Gruesomes – The Hatrocks visit the Flintstones to declare their feud over but end up overstaying their welcome. To solve it, Fred invites the Gruesomes over to drive them off.
  20. Moonlight and Maintenance – The Flintstones move into a luxury apartment, but Fred has to get a second job as a janitor to pay for it.
  21. Sheriff for a Day – Fred becomes a sheriff for a small Old West town living in fear of the Slatery Brothers.
  22. Deep in the Heart of Texarock – Fred visits Uncle Tex's ranch and has to stop a bunch of cattle rustlers.
  23. The Rolls Rock Caper – Fred and Barney accidentally appear on the TV show "Smile, You're on My Favorite Crime".
  24. Superstone – Fred gets the part of Superstone, the star of a popular superhero show, but is framed by robbers.
  25. Fred Meets Hercurock – Fred is recruited to play Hercurock in a new movie.
  26. Surfin’ Fred – The Flintstones and Rubbles travel to Rock Island beach, where Fred and Wilma enter a surfing contest. The problem is Fred can’t surf.

    Season 6 

  1. No Biz like Show Biz – Fed up with the number of teen stars on TV, Fred dreams that Pebbles and Bamm Bamm have become teen stars.
  2. The House That Fred Built – When Fred learns his mother-in-law is coming to visit, he builds a house in his backyard for her to live in.
  3. The Return of Stony Curtis – Wilma wins a contest to have Stony Curtis (voice of the real Tony Curtis) come over for a day to be her servant.
  4. Disorder in the Court – Fred and Barney go on jury duty, and when the man they convict escapes from jail, Fred is afraid he’ll come after him.
  5. Circus Business – Fred buys a carnival.
  6. Samantha – Samantha and Darrin Stephens from Bewitched (voiced by their respective actors Elizabeth Montgomery and Dick York) move next door to the Flintstones in this crossover episode.
  7. The Great Gazoo – A mischief-making alien named the Great Gazoo promises to help Fred and Barney pay for an expensive restaurant that Wilma and Betty want to eat at.
  8. Rip Van Flintstone – Fred falls asleep during a company picnic ad wakes up twenty years into the future, where Barney is a millionaire, Pebbles married Bamm Bamm, Wilma lives on Barney’s estate, and Bedrock is now a metropolis.
  9. The Gravelberry Pie King – Fred gets fired, thanks to the Great Gazoo, but starts a business in selling Wilma’s pies.
  10. The Stonefinger Caper – The Great Gazoo gives Fred a luxury car. Meanwhile, some mysterious people trying to get a secret formula from Barney, who they believe is scientist Dr. Rockenheimer.
  11. The Masquerade Party – Fred and Barney enter a costume contest as an alien and a devil respectively. But, when a band’s radio hoax tricks Bedrock into thinking aliens are attacking, Fred is mistaken for an invader.
  12. Shinrock A Go-Go – Fred is entered in a teen dance contest (based on the TV show, Shindig!) against his will. Features the song "Laugh Laugh" by The Beau Brummels (portrayed in this episode as "The Beau Brummelstones"), which became a popular hit.note 
  13. Royal Rubble – Barney becomes the king of a group of tribespeople.
  14. Seeing Doubles – Fred and Barney want to go bowling, but also have to take their wives out to dinner. So, the Great Gazoo creates a second Fred and Barney to take the wives out.
  15. How to Pick a Fight with Your Wife Without Really Trying – The Great Gazoo ruins Fred and Wilma’s marriage with a game of Monopoly, so Fred lives with Barney while Wilma lives with Betty.
  16. Fred Goes Ape – Fred gets turned into an ape by his allergy medicine.
  17. The Long, Long, Long Weekend – The Great Gazoo sends Fred, Barney, Betty, and Wilma into the world of The Jetsons to show them the future.
  18. Two Men on a Dinosaur – The Great Gazoo fixes a dinosaur race to prove himself worthy of returning to his home planet, which puts Fred and Barney in trouble with gangsters.
  19. The Treasure of Sierra Madrock – Fred and Barney go on a treasure hunt that puts their friendship to the test.
  20. Curtain Call at Bedrock – Fred, Wilma, Barney, and Betty put on a play of "Romeorock & Julietstone".
  21. Boss for a Day – The Great Gazoo makes Fred the head of the quarry he works at for a day.
  22. Fred’s Island – Fred gets stranded on what he believes to be an unexplored island.
  23. Jealousy – Wilma's childhood friend comes to town making Fred very jealous.
  24. Dripper – In this parody of Flipper, Dripper the Seal follows the Flintstones home while Dripper’s trainer tries to get him back.
  25. My Fair Freddy – Fred has to learn manners from the Great Gazoo to fit into a country club.
  26. The Story of Rocky’s Raiders – Fred reads his grandfather’s wartime diary.
