Teri forces Gumball to wash a virus army off of his hand and the last survivor returns to get revenge.

Tropes:

  • Abnormal Limb Rotation Range: Gumball claims to have "the power of the mind over the flesh" that prevents him from getting sick, and demonstrates it by rotating his head, ears, and torso bizarrely while also making his legs retract in and out of his body. He then has to go to the nurse's office afterwards to see if his body is okay.
    Gumball: You believe me now?
    Teri: Ugh, yeah, sure.
Gumball: Good, cause now you have to take me to the infirmary.
    [cut to nurse's office]
Joan: Well, your heart's in your stomach and you'll be breathing out of your arm for a while but apart from that, you're hunky-dory.
  • Behind the Black: Several times Teri's flat paper body makes her become invisible to Gumball and Darwin because she's at an angle the audience can't see her at, even though they're looking at her from an entirely different angle.
  • A Day in the Limelight: For Teri.
  • A Father to His Men: Implied to be the case with the Virus. He refers to his men as "brothers' and vows to avenge them when Teri forces Gumball to wash his hand.
  • "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: If Teri didn't force Gumball to wash his hand then none of this would of ever happened.
Gumball: I told you I shouldn't have washed my hands.
  • Disney Death: Teri appears to have been decapitated by a buzzsaw that went flying through the air, but actually just turned her head to the side, making it seem invisible.
  • Furry Reminder: The nurse reminds Teri, who is made of paper, that she can't break her leg because she has no bones, and when everyone is putting on clothes that protect them from disease she puts herself inside one of those plastic sleeves used to protect paper in a binder.
  • Kissed Keepsake: The virus army grew on a hand Gumball refused to wash because Penny high-fived it months ago. He kept it from being cleaned while he showered by wrapping it in swim trunks.
  • Let's Fight Like Gentlemen: Gumball convinces the virus to stop coming after them with cars he controls and instead face him one on one. Since Gumball is millions of times his size, he just steps on him.
  • Mooning: Darwin unintentionally does this to Teri. After being scared by Teri into being more clean, Darwin takes her bottle of sanitizer and proceeds to rub it all over himself, before asking Teri to do his back, which results in Darwin turning around and flashing his bubble butt in Teri's face.
  • New Era Speech: The virus gave one to its army right before they attempted to infect Gumball, but were killed by the water fountain.
Brothers, we've mutated many times over for this moment, but now we are ready. Today, we take this body; tomorrow, the REST OF THE WORLD! None will be safe from our infection! Our glory will be greater than the pox, the plague and bad flu combined! Follow me to the nostril!
  • No Biochemical Barriers: Exaggerated, as the virus isn't able to just infect all kinds of different species of Funny Animals, thanks to constant mutation, it eventually turns into a computer virus that can control anything electric.
  • No Brows: Gumball gets his eyebrows taken off by a rogue electric razor, and Teri mocks that you can't tell how he feels about it until he grows a new pair on the spot.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: The virus tries to get into Gumball's body when he licks the keyboard, but only ends up beating up the bacteria that were about to infect him instead.
  • The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: The Virus at one point fights off other bacteria trying to infect Gumball because he wants to be the only one to do so. This only ends up making sure no one infects Gumball at the time.
  • Papa Wolf: Even though the Virus' army weren't his children, he refers to them as his "comrades" and vows to avenge them when Teri forces Gumball to wash his hand.
  • Profile View Gag: Teri has her body and then just her head shown in profile, the first time making her nearly invisible, the second making it look like she was decapitated.
  • Properly Paranoid: Teri's germaphobic fears are well-founded, as Gumball's refusal to wash his hand led to the creation of a deadly virus.
  • Scare 'Em Straight: Teri tries to scare Gumball and Darwin into acting cleaner by showing them an off-screen picture of an infection.
Gumball: OH, MY GOSH! What is that?
Teri: That's my mom. This is her website, she's a doctor.
    Gumball and Darwin: Oh.
    (Teri clicks again)
Gumball: OH, MY GOSH! WHAT IS THAT!?
Teri: That is what happens to a finger if you don't disinfect a cut.
Darwin: It looks like a purple foot covered in mayo!
Teri: And that only came from a paper cut!
  • Take That!: When asked if he's been showering, Gumball confirms he has and points out that he's not an art student.
