Tobias blackmails his teenage sister, Rachel, into letting all the kids in Gumball's class to her party, provided that they come with a date, but Gumball ends up with Tina Rex when he misinterprets Penny's note asking for a date and Principal Brown and Miss Simian plan to crash the party.
Tropes:
- Almost Kiss: Penny and Gumball almost kiss as the party is ending, but then a horn honks and turns out to be Richard come to pick Gumball and Darwin up. Principal Brown and Ms. Simian are also in the middle of kissing in the closet with Mr. and Mrs. Wilson get home and open it up.
- Blackmail: Tobias threatens Rachel to tell their parents about the party if she doesn't let his friends come despite being younger than who she wanted. These kids end up being the only ones who come, either because word got out and the teenagers didn't want to go to a "kids" party or because they were never planning to go in the first place.
- Bowdlerise: Most the versions of the episode shown on Cartoon Network Arabia and Cartoon Network Asia edit out the last scene of Principal Brown and Miss Simian in the closet, either by ending it with Darwin singing as Richard drives Gumball and Darwin homenote or Jackie and Harold's shadows passing by the closet and Jackie commenting that Rachel did a good job watching the house (with Harold grumbling that she probably ran up the phone bill)note . The Turkish version also edits the end with Miss Simian and Principal Brown in the closet, though the Turkish dub ends the episode the same way the Asian version does (with Jackie and Harold passing by the closet and Jackie commenting that Rachel did a good job housesitting, with Harold worrying over the phone bill), but also added a few seconds of the closet opening up, but cuts away just before showing Miss Simian and Principal Brown about to kiss.

- Honking Arriving Car: Just as Gumball and Penny were about to share a kiss, Richard arrives to pick his sons up and ruins the moment by honking the horn.
- Lampshade Wearing: We see a couple of characters dancing to the music wearing lampshades.
- Life of the Party: The titular party is hilariously stale until Ms. Simian and Principal Brown barge in and "bust the party wide open".
- Luminescent Blush: When Richard calls Penny "the new girl", Gumball's entire head goes red.
- "No. Just… No" Reaction: Gumball considers numerous girls to ask to be his date, counting several as possibilities. Then "Sussie... no."
- Passing Notes in Class: The kids at school are about to attend Rachel's party, but they all have to bring a date. Gumball gets a mysterious note flown to him while in the cafeteria, saying "Will you be the jelly in my peanut butter sandwich?". He takes this literally and throws it away without getting the point. It was from Penny, who is literally a peanut.
- Post-Kiss Catatonia: Darwin helps Rachel clean up her home at her party before her parents come home. She rewards him with a kiss on the cheek, resulting in him crashing head first to the floor with a goofy smile on his face.
- Scooby Stack: Gumball's family members do this as they listen in on his call to Tina where he humiliates himself for the sake of getting a date.
- Something We Forgot: Miss Simian and Principal Brown disappear after crashing the party and busting it wide open — until the end when Tobias and Rachel's parents come home and find that everything's normal (and don't notice that Miss Simian and Principal Brown have been holed up in the closet, about to make out).
- Wild Teen Party: Played with, as the party is offensively bland up until Ms. Simian and Principal Brown show up, then it gets far wilder when it turns out that the two's true intentions were to join in.
- Wingding Eyes: Gumball eyes turned into hearts when looking at Penny with a gauss filter. Darwin asks why and he says it's allergies.
- You Need a Breath Mint: Penny mentions Tina having lizard breath. Tina takes a sniff and gets a defeated look on her face.
