When Puss reveals he has a fear of the ocean, the Pirate Crew decide to help him face his fears by throwing him into the ocean, where he runs into the mermaid Feejee.
Tropes:
- Artificial Gill: Feejee feeds Puss magic kelp so he can breathe underwater.
- Boss Subtitles: Used for the pirates as Puss flies their ship; since the ship is flying at full speed, the pirates are shown screaming and trying not to be flung off.
- The Dreaded: The Glorg, the fearsome beast Puss is condemned to fight. No one has seen it and survived. In fact, no one has ever seen it, period; otherwise, they would have realized that it's just a tiny little fish.
- Drives Like Crazy: Or rather, fly a magical pirate ship like crazy. Puss begins the episode by piloting the ship at full speed, as the pirates hold on for dear life.
- Mister Seahorse: Feejee's husband Brad is pregnant.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: The Glorg is first seen as two glowing red eyes. Subverted when it turns out to be a small, harmless fish.
- The Unishment: Turns out the "ultimate punishment" in the Merman Kingdom is exile to the surface - exactly what Puss wanted all along.
