Star’s sleep-portaling becomes a danger, and she decides to put a stop to it.

- Janna asks Marco what it looks like when Star sleep-portals. Cue Star activating her golden form and disappearing through a portal. Marco even answers "kinda like that" when it happens.
- When Star suffers Identity Amnesia, the unicorn asks her what's her name. Then Marco screams "Star!" to call her through the All-Seeing Eye.
- Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: Janna gets a table full of gadgets and Marco wants to know what they are. The last one she lists turns out to be a normal puzzle game to pass the time.
- Bedtime Brainwashing: Star receives this technique from Janna to help her stay sleeping so she can reach where her sleep-portaling takes her.
- Brutal Honesty: Star is grateful to Marco, but she can't help but point out that using her wand to locate her was "incredibly stupid".
- Call-Back:
- Star recalls how she purified the Realm of Magic back in "Toffee", creating a new unicorn in the process.
- As it did with Lobster Claws, the wand changes shape when Marco uses it.
- When the wand looks like it won't change shape, Marco mentions Tom's purpose for the Blood Moon Ball and dancing with Star in the moonlight... which he unknowingly triggered for Star and himself. He's cut off before he can finish.Marco: It's like our souls are bound for—
- Marco takes out Star's self-made Book of Spells to get the All-Seeing Eye spell. Star has Glossaryck's warning of "Spying leads to crying" written in a corner.
- The Chosen One: It's implied Star is to be the chosen for the Realm of Magic. In this case though, the call can only heard by the one who wants to be chosen, but Star doesn't understand why she would want to be called, nor what her purpose is. Star decides it's just not yet her time.
- Get a Room!: Janna declares "Get a portal!" when Star and Marco hug.
- Godzilla Threshold: Unable to locate Star through normal means, Marco decides to use Star's wand. It works, though he nearly blows himself and Janna up.
- Hypno Fool: When Marco doubts Janna's ability to hypnotize people, she says "chicken butt" and Marco goes unconscious.
- Hypno Pendulum: Janna uses Marco’s watch to hypnotize Star to sleep and initiate her sleep-portaling.
- Identity Amnesia: Star forgets who she is after an extended stay in the Realm of Magic. Marco calling through the All-Seeing Eye spell snaps her out of it.
- Luminescent Blush: Marco gets a big one when Star pulls him into a six-armed hug.
- Mood Whiplash: After the wand dramatically transforms for Marco, Janna reaches in to give it a mole with her marker so it matches Marco's face.
- Noodle Incident: At some time, Janna hypnotized Marco so that he would pass out when she says "chicken butt".
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: As Janna lampshades, if she thinks using the wand is a bad idea, then it really must be.
- Overly Long Gag: Star mimicking the sound she hears in her sleep. It goes for some time but Janna tells her to quit it.
- Pass the Popcorn: Janna brought a jigsaw puzzle for when things get slow while watching Star. Later, she's seen eating popcorn as well.
- Perfectly Cromulent Word: When one of the baby unicorns describes how the Realm of Magic was "reborneded", Star replies "That's not a real word."
- Power Glows: Marco gains glowing, crescent-shaped cheek marks when he uses the All-Seeing Eye spell.
- Reflective Eyes: The various dimensions Star visits are reflected in her eyes as she passes each one. Same goes with the mysterious portal she notices which isn’t on Marco’s map.
- Ridiculously Cute Critter: The baby unicorns that live in the Realm of Magic.
- Running Gag: Janna using the Trigger Phrase "Chicken butt" to knock Marco out.
- Sequel Episode: To "Sweet Dreams" and "Night Life".
- Spikes of Doom: Marco's version of the wand has a spiked green wheel on the front, a large metal spike on top, and bat wings.
- Tempting Fate: Marco doubts Janna's hypnosis skills... and she knocks him unconscious with the "chicken butt" Trigger Phrase.

- The Un-Reveal: We never learn why Star was drawn to the Realm of Magic. Her unicorn claims that she only summoned Star because Star wanted to come.
- Wingding Eyes: Star gets sparkles in her eyes when entranced by the Realm of Magic.

- We find out where Star has been trying to go during her sleep-walking sessions: the Realm of Magic. That crying sound she's been following is the "song of the First-Born", the unicorn Star created when she rebuilt the Realm back in "Toffee".
- In a moment of desperation, Marco uses Star's wand and locates her using the All-Seeing Eye spell, and he briefly has crescent-shaped cheek marks that glow when he recites the spell. Of note is the strangely sinister design of the wand.
- Star now has conscious control of her Super Mode and its ability for Thinking Up Portals.
- Wham Line: When Star finally stands before the unicorn who makes the sounds she heard in her sleep. In-Universe too, given her reaction.Star: Who are you?
