Go To

Air date: July 28, 2006

"Born to Be Mild": Rodney must survive in the wild with the help of his buddy, Leon, after the house explodes.

"Yer Out!": When Rodney replaces Mr. Johnson's position as coach of a baseball team, Mr. J becomes the coach of a rival team, and Rodney puts Andy out of the team.

"Born to Be Mild" contains examples of:

  • Downer Ending: The Johnsons' house exploding... again.
  • Here We Go Again!: Rodney using a can opener lead to the plot, and causes it again at the end once the conflict is resolved.
  • Idiot Ball: Let's be honest. The Johnsons grabbed this HARD for leaving Rodney all alone in their house for an entire week.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: As much of a jerk as Rodney is, the Johnsons were being pretty irresponsible for leaving their pet alone without anyone to take care of him. Not helping matters is Mr. Johnson's taunts in the letter. They end up paying for it.
  • Screams Like a Little Girl: Rodney screams like this while being chased by the Angry Guard Dog during the song montage.
  • Shout-Out: Rodney being left home alone by the Johnsons due to over sleeping mirrors the McCallisters forgetting to bring Kevin along and leaving him home by himself inadvertently in Home Alone.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Rodney can't even use a can opener without causing an explosion.
  • Wilderness Survival Plot: The plotline is Rodney attempting to survive in the wild, all with the help of his buddy Leon.

"Yer Out!" contains examples of:

  • Abusive Dad: Mr. J makes Andy a bench warmer, which, in addition to being chosen not to play, has him literally warm the attendants' benches.
  • Baseball Episode: The episode is about Andy playing on a baseball team (only to get kicked out).
  • Comedic Underwear Exposure: Andy is forced to walk home in his underwear after being kicked off the team.
  • Literal-Minded: The concept of bench warming is treated as literally warming people's benches with a hot towel.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Despite Andy accidentally causing both teams to be declared the loser, he still gets the trip to the amusement park, the new bike, and ice cream, and he's at least able to find humor in what he did.
