Call the Cops

Original air date: 9/27/2018

When Plankton is sent to jail, the police take the Krabby Patty secret formula as evidence, so Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob pose as police officers to retrieve it.

"Call the Cops" contains examples of:

  • Acquainted with Emergency Services: Patrick has gone through enough ice-cream benders that he keeps a key to his jail cell.
  • Call-Back: Mr. Krabs mentions his time in the Navy.
    • Patrick once again gets drunk from eating ice-cream at Goofy Goober's.
  • Continuity Nod: Wanted posters for The Tattletale Strangler and Dennis can be seen hanging in the police station.
  • Donut Mess with a Cop: The police station have a closet overfilled with donuts. The officer at the station has headphones shaped like donuts.
  • Drunk on Milk: Patrick arrives at the police station like a drunk, to which the officer asks if he had one too many Goofy Goobers.
  • Elmer Fudd Syndrome: Helen speaks like this.
  • Eye Scream: When Plankton is absconding with the Krabby Patty formula, he runs face-first into a police officer's boot, then pries himself loose while his eye and teeth remain stuck to it.
  • Hurricane of Puns: SpongeBob makes a lot of cop related puns.
  • Little Miss Con Artist: The little girl SpongeBob arrests turns out to be a notorious criminal known as Helen the Felon.
  • Meat-O-Vision: Patrick sees Mr. Krabs's eyes as ice-cream cones.
  • Pet the Dog: After telling SpongeBob not to hold his hand while they're cops, Mr. Krabs feels guilty about hurting SpongeBob's feelings and gives him a hug, even snapping at gawkers that it's okay for cops to hug.
  • Visual Pun: Plankton's mug shot, which is his picture on a police officer's coffee mug.

Surf N' Turf

Original air date: 11/11/2018

SpongeBob calls Mr. Krabs to help Sandy build a ship-in-a-bottle for a contest.

"Surf N' Turf" contains examples of:

  • Dark Horse Victory: After Mr. Krabs wins the ship in a bottle contest (due to the other entries getting destroyed by his entrance), Sandy arrives in her submarine, which destroys Mr. Krab's big ship in a bottle. After Sandy falls out of her suit and gets stuck inside her glass helmet, the judge awards her first place for being the only entry left.
  • Electric Torture: The episode ends with Sandy doing this to Mr. Krabs when he tries to stop rebuilding her tree.
  • Eye Am Watching You: SpongeBob does this to Plankton after retrieving the krabby patty formula.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Sandy forces Mr. Krabs to rebuild her tree using the wood he chopped down from her tree to build his ship-in-a-bottle.
  • "No. Just… No" Reaction: SpongeBob's entry is just a bottle with a small pier inside and he tells the judge that he's waiting for his ship to come in. He turns around to see a completely unamused Patrick shaking his head no.
  • Oh, Crap!: SpongeBob has this after throwing out the krabby patty formula to give Sandy the bottle. He then has to race over to Plankton's castle to get it back.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: Just as Mr. Krabs is about to win the ship in a bottle contest, Sandy arrives in her submarine, destroying all the entries, including the ship in a bottle Mr. Krabs built from her treedome and oak tree. At the end, she ends up stuck in her helmet, and she wins the contest by default as the only remaining entry since every other entry has been destroyed.
  • Running Gag: Sandy gnawing on wooden furniture.
  • The V-J Day Kiss: SpongeBob shows Sandy a photo of Mr. Krabs doing this with a large sack of money.
  • Wingding Eyes: Mr. Krabs's eyes shape themselves into ship-in-a-bottles with masts that look like dollar bills.
