Asellus

Asellus was once a normal human girl living in Shrike. One fateful day, on an errand to Dr. Okonogi's house, she came across an ominous carriage that proceeded to smash and kill her. The carriage belonged to the Mystic Lord Orlouge. Out of curiosity, he tranfused his blood to Asellus, saving her life but turning her into a Half-Mystic.

Asellus awakened inside the Castle of Facinaturu and was horrified with the events that happened. After learning the situation, Orlouge ordered his fellow Mystics to get her accustomed with the life of Mystic, but Asellus desired to go home, despite befriending a human girl named Gina in Rootville. With a little help from a few Mystics, she has two (actually three, but the Mystics did not suggest the last) options:

  • Accept an offer from a pilot that parked his ship near Facinaturu.
  • Jump into the flames of Kurenai, which transported her out of Facinaturu and into Mosperiburg. The Ring Lord Virgil helps her to be transported to another place afterwards, understanding her plight.
  • Accept an offer from suspicious people from Trinity. This ends with her being shipped as a slave to the Trinity leader Yaruto, but escapes with the interference of one of the Mystics, Zozma, and the help of a harem dancer (actually secret agent in disguise) Emilia.

Regardless of the choices taken, Princess White Rose, assigned as her caretaker, accompanied her to protect her.

Asellus is then taken to Owmi, where she learns about a trapped Water Mystic, Mesarthim, in the clutches of a loving Lord of Owmi Manor. Despite recognizing the Lord as a kind human, Mesarthim was incompatible with the stench of human and contained within a bath tub. Asellus did not like such imprisonment, regardless of the kind nature, or the prospect of humans and Mystics bonding together, so she set Mesarthim free by sneaking to the basement dungeon of the manor, which is connected with the lake.

Afterwards, Asellus finally headed home in Shrike, only to be shocked that 12 years has passed since she was ran over by Orlouge's carriage, her own aunt treated her as a ghost or Mystic trying to kidnap her. In the same time, Orlouge has sent one of the Mystics, Ciato, to re-capture White Rose, with Ciato sending his Mystic lackeys to do the job. Asellus, however, has grown attached to White Rose and fought to defend her.

For awhile, the two wandered the realms and fought off the Mystic assassins one by one, until Orlouge finally sent his strongest Princess, Lion Princess. But Asellus has grown strong enough to fend her off. In the meantime, several Mystics have been plotting to attain enough power to usurp Orlouge. Ciato defeated his fellow Mystic Rastaban and absorbed his power, but Rastaban already sent one of Asellus' ex-aides, Ildon, to catch up with Asellus and prepare for the battle with Ciato, in which Asellus prevailed.

In another stage of wandering, Asellus suddenly found herself trapped within the Dark Labyrinth, where none can escape without making a sacrifice. Asellus somehow managed to escape, but then she realized that White Rose stayed behind so she could be free. Heartbroken, Asellus entered a severe Heroic BSoD, until the rogue mystic Zozma came to encourage her to stop moping around and do what must be done to end this cycle: Defeat Orlouge. After catching up with Ildon, Asellus prepared for the final showdown...

Before the final showdown, Zozma also provided her a tour towards several notorious Mystics and humans, so Asellus can decide what to do with the Mystic Blood of hers:

  • In Magic Kingdom, there's a lower Mystic named Furdo who's rumored to have the power to remove Mystic Blood. When Asellus visited him, she instead was horrified that Furdo would petrify his subjects and experiment on them regardless of their consent or pain only so he can attain power to topple Orlouge. Asellus beat him, and was further horrified at the extent what even lower Mystics could do.
  • In Shrike, Asellus came across a research laboratory ran by a human named Nashera. She's researching a way to live eternal life, in process, turning her subjects into horrible monsters while saying that they had consent. Asellus refused to believe her, freed her captives and confronted the Mad Scientist, taking form of the Earth Dragon. At this stage, Asellus was horrified at the existence some truly evil humans like her.
  • In Koorong, Asellus came across a back-alley doctor with supreme skills that may be able to help her Half-Mystic problems. That doctor, Nusakan, however, is also a full-blooded Mystic, and yet cordially revealed that there's nothing he can do about her Mystic blood, and yet encouraged her to make a decision on her own: The power of Mystic does not make her a monster, but it's her actions and decisions that could make her.

After she's ready, Asellus stormed Facinaturu. She may have noticed that somehow Gina is missing, unbeknownst to her, she was captured and sealed inside a monster by the living Rastaban, who saw her as a suitable warrior that could defeat Orlouge. Asellus finally confronted and defeated Orlouge, and what happens afterwards depends on how Asellus decided what to do with her heritage:

  • If she chose to develop her Mystic abilities and did not bother to save Gina (and may also be influenced with the visit to the Bio Research Lab), Asellus went mad with her Mystic Power and decided to surpass Orlouge in everything, including his depravity and aspirations to conquer realms. She killed all of Orlouge's princesses, including White Rose, and plans on making a new harem of princesses, with Gina being her first.
  • If she chose to not touch her Mystic abilities and saved Gina (and may also be influenced with the visit to Furdo's Laboratory), Asellus got rid of her Mystic blood by defeating Orlouge. And thus, she became human once more, once again having a limited lifespan, got married and formed a family with another man, and passed away as a human, with Gina paying her respects, along with her Mystic allies.
  • If she did not meet any of those exact requirements, Asellus decided to live with the fact that she's a Half-Mystic and still refused to do whatever Orlouge has planned for her. She wandered the realms with her Mystic friends, only visiting Gina once in a year as a reminder of her humanity, while she never aged.

Blue

Blue is a talented magician that has just graduated from the Magic Academy. However, its leaders have issued one final task for him in order to prove his talent as the ultimate mage: Blue must defeat his own brother, Rouge. Excited to do so, Blue heads to Devin in order to gather magic, and learns that Rouge will be taking whichever routes he does not.

If Blue embarks on the Rune Quest, he is tasked with gathering four pebbles, representing different magical Runes. The Hide Rune is hidden in a cave in Koorong, guarded by a Quakeworm. To find the cave, Blue may ally with Liza or Dr. Nusakan, or instead seek help from Virgil (or rather, is warped away after being rude towards the Ring Lord). The Vitality Rune is within the beast Tanzer, who swallows the ship Blue is riding if he leaves Koorong after acquiring a Rune. Blue refuses the help of a martial artist named Fei-On that has been living within the beast, but a piece of the Slime guarding the Rune is tamed. The Victory Rune is within Mu's Tomb in Shrike, in which Roufas can be encountered, and is guarded by the Skulldrake. Finally, the Freedom Rune requires either another rune or Roufas' help to find, as otherwise Annie refuses to help break Blue into the prison known as Despair. Within its walls, Blue must defeat the Nidheg to claim his prize.

Alternatively, Blue can embark on the Arcane Quest, which requires collecting four cards. The Grail Card is found in Yorkland, but before he can claim it, Blue is tasked with drinking from all of the local breweries and navigating a dangerous swamp while impaired by the alcohol. The Gold Card is held by the Gnomes running Baccarat, and to find them, Blue needs Emilia's aid. They find the manhole leading to Gnomes' Cave, but must give up four gold ingots in exchange for the card. The Shield Card is held by Fuse of the IRPO, but he requests help obtaining a flower from Mosperiberg for a girl he fancies before giving it away. On the mountain where the flower grows, Blue does battle with Suzaku, potentially taming it in the process. Finally, to obtain the Saber Card, Blue must first learn from a skeleton in Koorong that he will need the help of Gen, a swordsman from Wakatu. After going to Scrap and getting Gen's aid, Blue is permitted to travel to Wakatu, and at the highest floor of Wakatu castle, must listen carefully to the sound of clinking swords in order to match three symbols and obtain the last card.

Blue must also choose between Light or Shadow in Luminous. For Light, Blue must navigate a maze using mirrors and switches to unlock paths. For Shadow, Blue and his allies are tasked with defeating their own shadows at Omble, potentially befriending Silence by dealing with his shadow as well.

To complete his mastery of magic, after obtaining all other magic that he can, Blue must find and defeat the current bearer of either Time or Space magic. For Time, Blue asks Virgil to warp him to Time Lord's Region, but learns that he requires a Sand Tool from Gozarus in Facinaturu. Giving up some life in exchange for the item, Blue returns to Time Lord's Region, and kills Time Lord to obtain his talent. For Space, Blue heads to Devin, and has Princess Rei transport him to Kylin's Paradise, where he must solve Kylin's maze. Blue then kills Kylin to obtain the gift of Space magic, even though it means the sanctuary Kylin had made will be eradicated in the process.

Regardless of the paths he had taken, once Blue has learned all of the magic he possibly could, he confronts Rouge in a magical duel. And regardless of the victor, the other's soul is absorbed into them, learning all of the other's magic in the process. Returning to the Magic Kingdom, the survivor finds it in ruins, and learns a dark secret: Blue and Rouge used to be a single soul that was split in two, so that they could break the limitations of magic and master all its schools, to fight back against the imminent unsealing of Hell. Travelling into the realm, they fight back against Hell's Lord...and to keep Hell sealed, must remain trapped in that battle.

Emilia

Emilia is a successful model. For a time, life was going on a smooth road for her: She's dating the IRPO detective Ren and despite them arguing a lot, he did agree to settle down and marry her. But one night, while walking to his home to apologize by presenting her wedding dress, Ren's house was forcefully opened before her, and when she entered the house, she saw Ren's body lump and lifeless, and a masked enigma jumping off to the window. Emilia was detained by the IRPO as the only witness of the murder scene, all she could remember was that this masked enigma resemble the Joker from the card deck. However, her interrogator, Fuse, was a partner of Ren and he found Emilia incredibly suspicious, pinning the murder on her. Despite Emilia's efforts, she was unfairly thrown to the maximum security prison of Despair.

While getting accustomed with the life in prison, Emilia befriended a fellow lady named Annie and they heard about the Warden announcing that he's holding an event: Whoever could touch the Freedom Rune located within Despair without being spotted by his men would earn their freedom, and team-ups were allowed. Annie brought her prison mate and best friend Liza and teamed up with Emilia. The trio of ladies ventured through Despair, avoiding the prison guards and plowing through a somewhat-weaker beast Nidheg and touched the Freedom Rune. The Warden then kept his words and granted the trio their freedom.

Going separate ways, Emilia was unsure on what to do since Ren was dead. All of the sudden, the masked enigma, officially called 'Joker', confronted her and attempted to kidnap her. Emilia was saved by the interference of the leader of Gradius, Roufas, who brought her to his headquarters, revealing that Annie and Liza were members of his group, and recruited Emilia to investigate on Joker, who was aiming for an artifact of great power which could devastate the regions while also under the tight security of the Trinity, The Cube. Left with no other path in life and desiring vengeance for Ren's murder, Emilia became a member of Gradius, trained herself for combat and special operations and prepares for her missions to come. And just to be sure, she also could pick up the remaining Rune Stones since she already had the Freedom Rune.

Emilia's first mission took her to Shingrow, where Joker has been sighted in an event. Thinking that it was a dance ball, Emilia signed in, but was too late to realize that it was actually a fighting tournament. Emilia ended up having to fight under the ring name 'Pink Tiger'. Victory or defeat did not matter to her, at the very least, she spotted Joker amongst the spectators. Gathering the Gradius members, Emilia attempted to track down Joker, but failed to spot him further.

Roufas later asked if Emilia wanted a break, but Emilia was suspicious that Roufas was going to trick her again. Only when Roufas revealed that Joker has been spotted in Baccarat's casino that Emilia changed her mind. While disguising herself as a bunny girl and bonding further with Annie and Liza, Emilia did find Joker, who descended to the cavern under the casino, making a deal with the Gnomes. When asked about why would he kill Ren, Joker only gave cryptic answers before throwing gold, making a distraction for the Gnomes to pile up on Emilia while he makes his exit. At this point, Emilia could either pursue Joker further to the cave only to find the monster Gargantu, defeat it and spotted a Purple Eye gem, a gift she used to have on Ren... or just get out of the cavern and return to Koorong ASAP.

Roufas then called for one particular mission Emilia was best suited for: Infiltrate the Trinity Lambda base as a harem dancer, because the current commander of Trinity, Yaruto, aside of being spotted of collaborating with Joker, was known as a huge pervert in addition of doing human trafficking business, and Emilia's beauty would no doubt make her best suited for the job to distract Yaruto. Emilia was aghast at the idea of using her sex appeal for slavery that she refused the mission, even when Joker was on the line. Unfortunately, Roufas already slipped some drugs in her meal and shipped her to Trinity. When Annie and Liza learned about this, they were equally furious, but Roufas ordered them not to interfere.

Emilia was not pleased that she got tricked again, but she really had to do what she had to do, pretending as a harem dancer to entice Yaruto. And indeed she found Joker. But before she could act, there was a sudden blackout, and Joker eluded her again. She got out and noticed that monsters somehow swarmed the base. Thankfully, she received help from a visiting Asellus and White Rose who also got tricked the same way as her, and Asellus noted that the monsters were due to the machinations of Zozma to make a distraction. They caught up with Zozma and made him begrudgingly join up with Emilia. Unfortunately for Emilia, both Joker and Yaruto were gone, and she returned to Gradius, taking Asellus, White Rose and Zozma with her.

Roufas later called her to infiltrate Trinity Lambda base again, and this time, no more harem business, since Yaruto has been relieved from his duties and has been replaced with someone else. Emilia infiltrated the base alone, and did meet up with the new commander, Mondo. Mondo briefed about what he knew about Joker and Cube, and revealed that he'll execute his plans with Cube in a mountain area near Yorkland. Another chaos erupted and Emilia was separated. She reunited with Gradius, with Roufas revealing that Mondo wasn't as nice as he presented himself to her. Regardless, the group made their escape.

With all pieces coming together, Roufas declared that the final mission was at hand: Confront Joker in the Yorkland Mountains. Going through the mountain area, the group came upon a chapel. Emilia mused that if the tragedy did not happen, then this chapel would've been the wedding place between her and Ren. Annie and Liza noticed that she's carrying her wedding dress and suggested she put it on, overriding Roufas' concerns that it'll leave them defenseless. Sure enough, Joker's ultimate weapon, the mechanical Diva, was unleashed upon them. Emilia and her team defeated the weapon, but was separated as the chapel was engulfed in flames. Emilia then managed to confront Joker alone. What happened next depends on what she did in Baccarat:

  • If she found the Purple Eye, Joker started rambling about controlling the world with Cube and ruling it with her, and it was at this point that Emilia realized that it was Ren all along. Heartbroken that her fiancee has fallen so low, Emilia declared her hatred and shot him dead. After unleashing all her sadness by crying on Annie and Liza's shoulders, Roufas gave her one last mission: To forget about Gradius and her time there. Emilia accepted the mission and walked away alone, with her future uncertain.
  • If she did not find the Purple Eye, while Joker prepared to kill her, Ren started to talk and telling Emilia to shoot his mask. Emilia learned than Ren was under the control of the Joker Mask and struggling for the control of his own body. After Ren begged for her to shoot the mask and trying to make sure that Joker did not harm his girlfriend, Emilia cried out his name and made a perfect shot on the mask. With the mask destroyed, Ren was freed from Joker's control and Emilia could finally marry her sweetheart, with the Gradius team attending the ceremony.

Lute

Lute was a jobless country boy from Yorkland. From what he remembered, his father was killed by Trinity while saving a good friend. Eventually, his mother grew sick of him being unemployed for so long that she told him to wander the realms and get a job. Lute bade farewell to his home for a journey, but the path to exit Yorkland was blocked by Trinity. The commander, Mondo, allowed him passage, riding towards Manhattan. Mondo seemed like a nice person to Lute.

But in Manhattan, Lute came across the IRPO agent Fuse who questioned on why Lute would take a ride from Mondo, because to him and many, Mondo did not fit with the term 'nice'. With his curiosity piqued, Lute wandered through the realm, helping other people he could until he came upon Owmi and met a ship captain, Capt. Hamilton. From there, Lute learned about the horrible truth: Mondo was the friend of his father Ian, but unlike what was told that he died saving Mondo, the truth is... Mondo killed Ian in order to gain the trust of Trinity and intending to become an Internal Reformist, but he ended up Drunk with Power and has amassed enough power within Trinity to build his own Humongous Mecha the Spriggan and waged war with those who opposed Trinity and him as a showcase of power, which was why he destroyed the town Wakatu and made his base above the ghost town.

With the help of Capt. Hamilton, Lute stormed Mondo's base and faced off Mondo in Spriggan. He defeated Mondo, avenging his father and stopping his mad ambition. With Mondo dead, Trinity indeed faced reforms, becoming a more upright, transparent organization. Lute was chosen as the ambassador for Yorkland, but for the most part he tends to hide in his home to avoid his underlings dragging him back to base.

Red

Red (Retsu Okonogi) is the son of Dr. Okonogi, a biomechanic specialist who made breakthroughs with his partner Dr. Klein. When he was a toddler, he used to play with Asellus until she got ran over by Orlouge, but as far as Red was concerned, she died in that day. Years passed, and Red has grown into a teenager and assistant to his father. Dr. Klein, however, began developing unhealthy ambitions to use his research for evil and associated himself with the the crime organization BlackX. Dr. Okonogi wanted to stop him as a friend, but while driving together with Red, their car got trampled by a cyborg assassin associated with BlackX, killing Dr. Okonogi. And then Red found his home in flames, his mother and sister missing, and said cyborg assassin, Shuzer, prepared to kill him.

Before Shuzer could kill Red, he was interrupted by the super hero Alkarl. Alkarl drove Shuzer away, and in order to save Red's life, Alkarl granted him the power of a super hero, and thus Red became Alkaiser. Now he had to juggle his desire of vengeance for his family and using his power for true, not blind, justice while also keeping his identity a secret.

Dr. Okonogi's friend, Hawk, picked up Red after the incident and became his father figure. Hawk was the captain of the region ship Cygnus, and Red became his assistant. However, somehow, a majority of the stops that Cygnus made seemed to always end with an encounter with BlackX. In Baccarat, Red re-encountered Shuzer, but he escaped and as Alkaiser, Red defeated his underlings. In Shrike, several BlackX members kidnap an innocent child to get information about Sei's Tomb, and Red came to stop them in time. Each time, however, before he could dig deeper, he always got called back to Cygnus...

In their stop at Manhattan, Red found out that someone has been storing weapons to Cygnus. Red decided to ask the provider, Cindy Campbell, about it, but the bureaucracy blocked him off, but IRPO agent Fuse managed to provide him a place for a meeting with Campbell, which didn't seem to bore fruit... but shortly after, Cygnus came under attack by pirates led by Nomad, and as Fuse came to help Red, they realized that Nomad was most likely being paid by Campbell. Red and Fuse gathered several allies to help free Cygnus, and also allowed Red to temporarily reunite with Asellus. Once they succeeded in driving away Nomad, Red and Fuse witnessed the flagship of BlackX, the Black Ray, obliterating Nomad's ship...

Red continued his daily duties as the assistant and making stops in several cities. In Koorong, Red came to witness some youngsters being addicted to dangerous drugs, and yet the drug dealer eluded him even in Cygnus. Stopping by to Kyo, Red almost got further information about BlackX from a spiritual Mec, but Cygnus called back. In Shingrow, Red participated in an annual tournament, spotting Dr. Klein amongst the spectators, but before he could pursue further, he got called back again. At that point, Red began to think that Cygnus is holding him back, so he bid farewell to Hawk, who let him go pursue his interests.

And so, Red came to investigate places he visited where BlackX might have their activities in. In Koorong, with the help of Annie and the Gradius, Red tracked down Shuzer and avenged his father. In Kyo, after meeting the IRPO Mec Rabbit, Red discovered the base of the drug dealers and destroyed it, as well as defeating the spiritual Mec, actually one of the BlackX emperors Metal Black. In Manhattan, Red reunited with Fuse and together they took down Cindy Campbell, who transformed into the spider monster Arachne. In Shingrow, Red helped a woman named Doll who looked for her brother, although it turned out she's an IRPO agent hunting down one of the BlackX emperors who's turning ruin explorers into their soldiers, Berva.

Once all the Emperors were eliminated, Red suddenly got another call from Cygnus. Hawk said that he found a pair of BlackX soldier suit and this could be used for Red to sneak into Black Ray. Realizing Hawk's identity, Red thanked him and snuck into Black Ray, holding off until the ship approached the BlackX Base and fighting the second version of Metal Black. Once arriving in BlackX Base, Red transformed into Alkaiser, discovered that his mother and sister were alive and defeated the leader of BlackX.

However, just when he thought it was all over, Dr. Klein arrived and said that the leader he defeated was just a pawn. First, Dr. Klein sent off a revived Berva, Shuzer and Arachne to fight Alkaiser, and all three were defeated. Next, he unleashed the third iteration of Metal Black, who somehow has a sense of honor, and fought in a fair fight in which Alkaiser won. The true leader of BlackX, BossX, then made its appearance and after a long battle, Alkaiser prevailed for good.

While paying respects to his father's grave, Hawk visited Red and his family. After his mother and sister left, Hawk then revealed that he was Alkarl and he came to take away Red's power as Alkaiser, it's time that Red can live in peace with his family after the long fight. However, evil is not something that can be extinguished easily, another group of villains will rise in the absence of BlackX. However, Alkarl came from a society of super heroes, therefore if another villain rise, another super hero will rise to oppose it in place of Alkaiser...

Riki

Riki was part of the Lummox race, living in his world Margmel. With Margmel dying, Riki wondered if there was a way to save it. He eventually got called by his elder, who showed him the Guardian Ring, part of the Rings that was said to possess immense power which might be the key to save Margmel. A dream of the elder showed that Riki is The Chosen One to save Margmel, so he was tasked to gather the rest of the Rings and save Margmel with its power. The Guardian Ring granted Riki a more humanoid form and he headed to the region closest to Margmel: Scrap.

Entering Scrap bar, Riki met Mei-Ling, an archaeologist and expert in Ring knowledge. The two agreed to team up, since Mei-Ling knows the location of one of the Rings, and in fact it was very close: It's within the grasp of the Caballero Family ruling over Scrap. After gathering the aids of Lute, Gen and T260, Riki confronted Caballero for his Ring, the Merchant Ring. However, Caballero only agreed if Mei-Ling came with him for some... favor. The team naturally did not like how it looked and planned to rescue Mei-Ling. After saving her, they stormed Caballero's hideout, defeat him and make him surrender the Merchant Ring and cheapened the cost of the ship to an affordable price so Riki can leave Scrap.

Arriving in Koorong, Riki and Mei-Ling discuss where to go next, since Mei-Ling had all the information of the Rings' locations. Regardless of whatever choice Riki made, the moment they try to go to their destination, their ship was swallowed by the monster Tanzer. Inside, they met the notorious pirate Nomad and the virtuous monk Fei-On, for the latter, it turned out that Mei-Ling used to be Fei-On's girlfriend until his training journey to Kyo was interrupted with being swallowed by Tanzer, but Mei-Ling was just mad that Fei-On didn't contact her despite being unable to. From Fei-On, Riki learned that Nomad has the Thief Ring, and they decided to confront her in order to win the ring. Like a true pirate, Nomad also wanted the two Rings Riki had. The two groups fought over the ownership of the Rings, but eventually, the cornered Nomad became trapped when she was swallowed by the heart of Tanzer. Riki and Fei-On saved her so she could hand over the Thief Ring, but the battle caused Tanzer to go crazy. Fei-On used this chance to get everyone back to ship so the innocent people could escape Tanzer. Despite her anger towards him, Mei-Ling waited for him patiently until Fei-On returned safely and everyone escaped Tanzer in one piece.

Their next target was the Warrior Ring possessed by the ancient King of Shrike, Sei, who was entombed there. After gathering the three sacred treasures (Murakumo, Magatama/Spirit Orb and Mizukagami), they opened the chamber of King Sei, and the king, now in form of a mighty skeletal Death Lord awakened from his tomb, accusing them as tomb robbers. Riki, however, showed his Ring and from it, Sei was given the vision of the dying Margmel. Touched with Riki's integrity, Sei agreed to give the Warrior Ring but under the condition that he also joined Riki's entourage.

Mei-Ling interrupted whatever Riki planned with an urgent news that she found the location of one of the Rings, the Hero Ring: It was owned by a man in Baccarat. When they arrive there, however, the man was attempting suicide since he lost his Ring in a debt by gambling, though Riki and Mei-Ling saved him from suicide. To their surprise, the Ring was actually being held by a mouse. Riki gave chase, spanning through the whole casino of Baccarat and early to its underground cavern. After cornering the mouse, Riki obtained the Hero Ring.

Next, they headed to Manhattan where it's said that a store sold the Schemer Ring. But, they were too late, it was bought by a Lord from Owmi. Heading there, they were greeted by a middle-aged Lord (different from the Lord in Asellus' quest), who, after recognizing Riki and Mei-Ling as Ring owners, decided to drop them to a trap door and planning to claim their Rings later. Riki and Mei-Ling clawed their way out from the basement, defeating the Devil Squid and confronted the Lord, who was revealed to be a mischievous lesser Mystic. Before leaving the Schemer's Ring behind, he warned that anyone who's looking for the Ring like Mei-Ling had to be someone up to no good, to which his warnings were not heeded.

Mei-Ling then informed that the Hermit Ring is located in the maximum security prison Despair and it would be tough to travel there without a guide. A passing by Liza overheard this and suggested that they seek the help of Annie for guide, which they did. The Warden of Despair was at first suspicious at Mei-Ling's reasoning to take Riki along but he let that be. With Annie as the guide, they reached the possessor of the Hermit Ring, none other than the Warden himself, revealing that Despair was built solely to contain him. Regardless of the place's history, he gave the Hermit Ring to Riki.

Their next target was the Healer Ring, possessed by a millionaire in Yorkland. The millionaire promised the Ring for anyone who could cure his daughter, who has been possessed by an entity and scaring off any other exorcists. Riki faced the demon Mollasite, but after he attacked him a few times, the demon fled and the girl was still bedridden. Mei-Ling then suggested to contact an expert: A doctor she heard to be running a clinic in the back alley of Koorong. That person is Dr. Nusakan, and after hearing the plight, he agreed to get to work. With Nusakan's guidance, Riki instead only attacked the demon sparingly until it approached the girl, in which it revealed its true form draining the girl's life force and Riki could attack it in full force, vanquishing the demon and curing the girl. In addition of the millionaire being overjoyed at his daughter's recovery, Annie also quietly gave her approval... that girl was her sister that the millionaire adopted. Riki earned not only the Healer Ring, but also a good sum of money for his efforts.

The last Ring, the Lord Ring, was located in Mosperiburg by the Ring Lord Virgil. As a powerful Mystic, he tested Riki's worthiness by throwing him into several challenges within his castle. Riki overcame all those and faced Virgil, who gave him his final challenge: Telling him and his party to showcase their best combination attacks. Riki did so, and an impressed Virgil handed over the Lord Ring.

With all Rings in piece, Riki and Mei-Ling, along with Fei-On and Nusakan, were transported to Margmel. Riki reported back to the elder, and he's told to make a wish for Margmel to be reborn. Riki did so, and marveled at the beauty of Margmel in its prime... But he soon came to regret that wish.

When he returned, his friends started vanishing one by one. Mei-Ling revealed that since the Lummox did not exist when Margmel was born, they were also erased from the existence, and that Riki was a fool to chase such stories about rings granting wish, since it was just stories made up by men to entice greedy people. Fei-On became increasingly distressed at how his girlfriend acted while Nusakan made a correct guess: Mei-Ling possessed the most powerful of the Rings, the Black/Master Ring, and it has dominated her mind; and with it reunited with its siblings, it stood ready to conquer the realms with its power. Riki then ignored his old desire to restore Margmel, he just wanted his friends and Mei-Ling back, so he fought along with his friends against the Black/Master Ring, beating the curse out of Mei-Ling's body.

With the Black/Master Ring defeated, Riki's wish were undone, his Lummox friends returned to existence, and Margmel is dying again. Nusakan concluded that the fight freed Mei-Ling from the curse, and she's remorseful about what she has done, though Fei-On admitted of sharing the blame of ignoring her in favor of his training and promised to stay by her side to make up for it. But the fate of Margmel was inevitable at this point... but the Lummox are optimistic creatures. With every efforts to save Margmel ending in failure, they decided to just migrate to another region after running out of options. Riki, helped with Mei-Ling and her friends, decided to separate the Rings so they would never reunite and threaten the regions again.

After finally tossing the Black Ring into the dying Margmel, Riki bade farewell for his former home.

T260G

At some point in the distant past, a region ship was shot down in battle, and crashed after all its crew was safely evacuated. In the present day, a young boy named Thyme comes across the ship's crash site in Junk, and manages find the ship's still-functional AI core in the wreckage. Thyme takes it back home to Taco, an octopus repairman that places it within a suitable Mec body. The Mec introduces itself as T260 to the boy and his sister, Rosemary, but Taco insists that it adds a "G" to the end to represent his workshop. After a brief exploration of Junk, T260G runs a system scan, and realizes that its memory banks have been lost. With no record of what its primary function is, T260G sets relearning it as top priority, followed by data collection and self-improvement.

Thyme decides to enter T260G into Junk's battle arena, crossing paths with Gen at the bar. Although T260G wins his fights, Rosemary is upset that Thyme put it in danger. It also turns out that its winning streak have gotten the attention of crime boss Mr. Caballero, who had been rigging the fights in his favor. The Caballero family kidnaps Thyme, leading to T260G and Gen working together to rescue the child. Once Thyme is secured, T260G decides it's time to leave Junk to uncover its true purpose, and Gen decides to continue tagging along.

The only ship out of Junk leads to Scrap, where T260G learns about Nakajima Robotics and Trinity competing over Mec production, both of which could also potentially help restore its memory. However, the only guy offering trips out has inflated its prices due to the Caballero family, leading to recruiting some additional help at the local bar and taking out the crime family's head for good. Getting a lift out of Scrap leaves T260G in Koorong, where a computer terminal provides further details on Nakajima Robotics as well as on Leonard B. Edison, a Machine specialist operating in Manhattan.

In Manhattan, T260G quickly meets Leonard, who analyzes its body, compliments Taco's work, and then gifts a memory upgrade while apologizing for being unable to restore the lost data. In Shrike, after helping Nakajima Robotics recover a robotic mouse that went missing in Sei's Tomb, they provide him with allies in the forms of the mecs ZEKE and Engineer Car, as well as offer to retrofit T260G's body into a variety of specialized forms. Nakajima Robotics also mention some ancient technology found in Shingrow Ruins, and after following that lead, T260G finds the remains of a ship similar to the one they were recovered from. Its computer is heavily damaged, but it does reveal that T260G was originally an "Anti-RB" model, as well as that it was last reported on the way to "HQ".

Reporting back to Nakajima Robotics, T260G learns that Dr. Leonard has been assassinated. However, a trip back to Manhattan reveals that Leonard had backed up his brain in a Mec body, and he requests that the crew take him to Tartaros. After potentially stopping in Koorong so Dr. Leonard can recruit PzkwV, they investigate some hidden Trinity data banks in Tartaros that reveal Trinity found and has been hiding HQ near Manhattan. At HQ, a mothership, T260G is brought into a digital world in order to debug its data files. HQ's motherboard then informs T260G that the destruction of the "RB3" battleship model is its top priority, and all of its other missions must be cancelled, due to T260G being the only functioning Mec capable of the task. Before leaving to deal with RB3, though, T260G can upload itself into an "Omega"-type chassis left onboard HQ.

T260G and the crew infiltrate the RB3, and though T260G requests that Gen part ways before he's endangered, he insists that he won't be abandoning his friends. Traversing through simulated environments, they eventually reach and dismantle its core, the Genocide Heart. As the crew start to part ways, T260G shuts down, its mission having finally been completed. However, Gen wakes it up and reminds it of the children it left behind in Junk. T260G changes back into Taco's chassis at Nakajima Robotics, and then returns to its new family, Rose and Thyme.

Fuse

Asellus: IRPO Case Report No. 143821021 - The missing girl in Shrike

Reading reports that Asellus has resurfaced after going missing twelve years ago, Fuse follows a lead and ends up having to fight off some of Orlogue's men. Following another lead from Cotton (who he ends up rescuing) to the Bio Research Lab, he helps Asellus escape, and then learns of Asellus' past through Zozma and Rei. Fuse decides to raid Orlogue's castle to arrest him; ordinarily, humans and Mystics keep out of each other's business, but the case started with Orlogue's men attacking an IRPO agent first. In the process, Fuse accidentally passes through the Dark Labyrinth and gets one of Orlogue's minions trapped in it. This allows White Rose to be present for the fight against Orlogue, which ends with Asellus taking Orlogue's position and sealing his power while Orlogue's body is thrown into Despair.

Blue: IRPO Case Report No. 143839614 - Investigation of Twin Magicians

While waiting for Silence to contact him, there's a nearby commotion. Fuse can investigate and meet Blue, who's barged his way into the Light Magic Trial. The next day, Blue seeks his help getting the Shield Card for the Arcane Quest; his curiosity piqued, Fuse decides to ask Dr. Nusakan for information on the magicians. Alternatively, Fuse tries to find Silence, though this ends with meeting Rouge instead. The next day, Roufas contacts him to assist Rouge, who's seeking the Runes, getting embroiled in their rivalry. Either way, Fuse ends up reaching out to both Time Lord and Kylin, and drags them into the adventure instead of fighting them for their gifts. Subsequently, the mage Fuse assisted wins the fateful brotherly duel, and after invading Hell together, the IRPO rescues the team from being trapped within. Should Blue have won, he decides to stay and help rebuild the area; alternatively, Rouge leaves after considering himself unworthy for the task.

Emilia: IRPO Case Report No. 143821081 - The Joker Incident / The Cube Conundrum

After a few flashbacks showing Fuse accidentally swapping his wedding gift to Ren (a plate with his own face on it) with actual evidence, Fuse ends up detaining Emilia, the prime suspect for Ren's death...in order to protect her within Despair's impenetrable walls. When Emilia escapes, Fuse rushes to track her down, eventually getting a lead from Roufas about a human trafficking ring run by Trinity commander Yaruto that Emilia's gotten caught up in. At this point, the path splits; either he pursues and arrests Yaruto, or he prioritizes contacting Emilia. In both cases, Mondo gets promoted and divulges where Joker is headed, Fuse deduces Joker's identity after getting Ren's autopsy reports, Emilia arrives during the confrontation, and it ends with Emilia and Ren's wedding. However, pursuing Yaruto means that Ren's been possessed by the mask, and Fuse gets beaten up by Emilia for accidentally causing the whole mess; in the other branch, Ren is genuinely tired of how there's always crime no matter how much they fight against it and wanted to use the Cube to control the crime underworld to create a world free from crimes, working in tandem with the power from the Joker mask, Fuse and Emilia beat some sense into him, and then Fuse lets Ren keep his job as long as he works to earn Emilia's forgiveness.

Lute: IRPO Case Report No. 143831010 - The Critical Incident

Fuse, placed on indefinite vacation for investigating Trinity after Mondo's promotion, is suspicious of why a calculating man like Mondo would be affiliated with someone like Lute. Fuse gets Rabbit to leak him some reports on Mondo's connection to Lute, anti-Trinity past, and potential backstabbing and smuggling. Fuse crosses paths with Lute again while investigating the smuggling, but they get confronted by assassins when Fuse tries to share his findings, winning with Gen's help. Fuse, Lute, and Gen then follow one of Rabbit's leads, only to arrive in Manhattan as Dr. Leonard's assassinated...except that the attack was an attempt to silence him and Rabbit, who was accessing Trinity's database at the time. His mind now in a Mech, Dr. Leonard tells them of how Mondo tried to start a war between Trinity and Wakatu, which angers Gen. Fuse claims it's all too much for the IRPO to handle...but since he's on leave from the IRPO, Fuse takes the fight to Mondo. Getting a lift from Captain Hamilton, they foil Mondo's plan. Fuse and Lute convince Gen to keep on living, with Fuse offering to throw Mondo into Despair and make the Wakatu files public knowledge. Lute is then hired by a now more-transparent Trinity as a special advisor who keeps wandering off, though Fuse decides to put off tracking him down.

Red: IRPO Case Report No. 143831012 - BlackX bested

While investigating Cindy Campbell, Fuse crosses paths with Red, and subsequently takes Arachne down with Alkaiser's help. From that point on, the IRPO is constantly one step behind Alkaiser in taking down BlackX, even when Cotton gets information out of a grunt implied to be Annie's brother. But while gathering the evidence needed to properly incarcerate its members, Fuse figures out the superhero's true identity. After helping Alkaiser take down the organization's head, Fuse arrests Dr. Klein and offers Red a position in the IRPO.

Riki: IRPO Case Report No. 143821015 - The Ring Brothers

Fuse is called in to arrest the Caballero Family, but the head drops a ring, which Fuse picks up as evidence. However, he's now cursed to complete the set. He leaves to start this task right before Riki and Mei-Ling arrive in search of the ring, and is constantly one step ahead of Riki, even befriending Dr. Nukasan and King Sei along the way. Riki finally catches up when the rest of the rings are collected, and since Fuse doesn't have any wish he wants granted, he decides to help Riki...but when Mei-Ling asks Fuse for the rings, he refuses, having researched the rings' history and knowing their corrupting influence. Fuse and Riki fight the Ring Spirit instead of wishing for Margmel's restoration, and after Mei-Ling's mind is restored, Riki's people decide to just find a new home elsewhere.

T260G: IRPO Case Report No. 543236301 - The Ultimate Weapon

While investigating rigged matches at Junk's arena, Fuse saves Thyme from a kidnapping, earning T260G's respect and leading them to take down the Caballero Family together. When Rabbit later reports that its research on an ancient weapon was blocked and deemed classified by Trinity, Fuse helps, leading to a meeting with Dr. Leonard, Gen, and a retrofitted T260G shortly after Leonard's Brain Uploading. Fuse ends up helping beat their Final Boss just out of duty, and offers Leonard a position at the IRPO before parting ways. As for T260G, as it already began questioning what "Top Priority" really meant back when Fuse helped save Thyme, it immediately realizes the importance of returning home rather than shutting down and Gen having to reboot it.
