- Saints Row (2006): As the city of Stilwater is ravaged by a three-way Mob War, ex-gangster Julius Little runs a Vigilante Militia out of an old church in the delapidated Saints Row 'hood. With the help of an everyman he nicknames "Playa", these Third Street Saints drive the gangs out of the Row, but Julius refuses to rest until they are completely eradicated. As they take over Stilwater, however, the Saints grow increasingly more like their enemies, and their rise is cut short by Julius' arrest and Playa's apparent death in a bombing.
- Saints Row 2 (2008): Playa wakes up from a five-year coma to discover the Saints long disbanded, the Row rebuilt from the ground up by the Ultor Corp., and Stilwater carved up once again among three all-new gangs. Undeterred, Playa frees the veteran Saint Johnny Gat and together, they set out to rebuild their old gang and to Take Over the City once more. After the other gangs are dealt with, Ultor sweeps in, but the new Saints prove too tough even for them and emerge as the undisputed masters of Stilwater.
- Saints Row: The Third (2011): Years after taking over Stilwater and merging with Ultor, the Saints are blindsided by a group known only as "The Syndicate", who kill Gatnote and kidnap the Bossnote . Shaken but royally pissed, the Saints dismantle the Syndicate and take over its home turf of Steelport, attracting the attention of The Government, who sick the paramilitary anti-gang unit STAG on them. In the canon ending, the Saints save Steelport's mayor from a rogue STAG lieutenant and become national heroes.
- Saints Row IV (2013): By preventing a nuclear terrorist attack on Washington, D.C., the Boss is elected to US Presidency, but the Saints' global domination is stopped by an Alien Invasion. When the aliens trap a handful of humans in The Matrix-like Simulation and destroy Earth, the surviving Saints — including a resurgent Johnny Gat — take over the Simulation from the inside and bring the fight back to the real world. By publicly defeating the Zin Emperor, the Boss becomes the new God-Emperor of the Universe.
- Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell (2015): Satan himself is so impressed by the Boss' carnage that he kidnaps them to forcibly marry his only daughter. To rescue their leader, Gat and the Steelport recruit Kinzie Kensington travel To Hell and Back, where they run into all sorts of former enemies. By defeating Satannote , Gat earns an audience with God, who offers him a choice of five endings, one of which resets the world back to before Julius had formed the Saints and leads directly into Agents of Mayhem (2017).
