MOVE ASIDE SMG4 ITS MARIO'S TURN TO HOST HIS OWN SHOWWWWWW

After his disastrous TikTok challenge video three days earlier, Mario hosts his own game show called "The Meme Games" where he invites (read: kidnaps) every character possible and has them undergo several viewer-submitted challenges to win the grand prize of "one wish". As everyone takes on the Italian's crazy challenges, Saiko and Kaizo end up on their own journey... towards reconciliation.

Tropes:

  • Animation Bump: The final challenge has noticeably better animation, with the movements being incredibly smooth akin to a high budget GLITCH show and Saiko having proper lip-syncing.
  • Ass Shove: Kaizo gets a metal beam shoved up his rear by Donkey Kong for trying to "clap his cheeks". Saiko just bops along to DK's rap since Kaizo brought it on himself by refusing to work with her.
  • Bait-and-Switch:
    • During the "Feed Kirby" challenge, Wario spots Yoshi with a pineapple and orange and reaches his hand... to grab the egg-laying dinosaur himself before firing a barrage of eggs into Kirby's mouth to try and feed him.
    • Mario announces his reward for the winner to be any single wish granted by Mario. Instead, the "wish" turns out to be an ordinary children's toy car nobody would have asked for.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Because Saiko saved him even though he was trying to have her mauled by a Chain Chomp and talked some sense into him, Kaizo returns the favor by distracting the Spy-watermelon hybrids with music long enough to help Saiko find Melony among the pile.
  • Butt-Monkey: Kaizo plays the part here, as he constantly suffers the punishments of his shenanigans.
  • Cheaters Never Prosper: All of Kaizo's attempts at cheating and taking Saiko out of the competition blow up in his face. Getting bailed out by Saiko in the Chain Chomp challenge inspires him to start playing more fair.
  • Didn't Think This Through: One of the challenges is a melon eating contest. Cue Melony holding her Fierce Deity blade to Mario's throat and making the plumber change it to "Melon Hugging Contest". Likewise, Mario didn't think things through when his prize is a toy car. Cue his friends chasing him with Torches and Pitchforks and him getting hit by the thrown toy car.
  • Embarrassing Browser History: One of the challenges is to survive viewing Bob's internet search history. The challenge commences only to show everyone except Mario immediately dead and Mario proclaiming that "if that's not illegal, it certainly should be" to whatever he's seeing on the computer.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Saiko sits aside and bobs to the beat as Kaizo get a metal beam shoved up his ass by Donkey Kong, but she's disturbed when she sees Bob filming it.
  • Golden Snitch: The final challenge of The Meme Games is worth 99,999,999,999 points. SMG4 points out how that makes all of the other challenges redundant. Mario is silent in response to this and just starts the challenge.
  • Graceful Loser: Mario reacts to Saiko beating him in the final challenge with a round of applause for her victory.
  • Grievous Harm with a Body: In the final round, Mario, piloting DJ Octavio's mech, grabs Meggy with its left hand and uses her to hit Kaizo, sending the lad flying into Bob.
  • Groin Attack: When Kaizo throws Boopkins at Saiko to distract her during a challenge, she throws him at Kaizo's crotch, crushing his "pingas", and making him faint.
  • Hypocritical Humor: When Bob asks Karen for a hamburger at a coffee shop, she bluntly tells them she doesn't sell any. When JubJub asks for one, she fixes a burger for him on the spot. This naturally pisses Bob off.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Most of the contestants use mundane objects against Mario in the final round, such as a rubber duck. They all turn out to be oddly effective.
  • Instant Soprano: Kaizo's response after his pingas gets crushed.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: Once Wario's attempt to feed Kirby fails, he takes off floating and leaves the stage to Luigi.
  • Laser-Guided Karma:
    • Kaizo suffers for every time he tries to cheat or get one over on Saiko.
    • For holding everyone against their will over a completely different prize than advertised, Mario gets his just deserts when everyone chases him down to kick his ass.
  • Leeroy Jenkins: During the "Pin the Tail on the Donkey Kong Challenge", Kaizo recklessly rushes to win the game, but Donkey Kong intercepts him and punishes the poor guy with an Ass Shove via metal construction beam.
  • Lethal Chef: As per usual, Meggy is a terrible cook who somehow manages to lose the cooking challenge before it even started!
  • "No. Just… No" Reaction: The girls immediately leave the room once they find out one of Mario's challenge involves sleeping with Waluigi. The host himself literally disappears rather then join Waluigi in bed.
  • Nothing Is the Same Anymore: Saiko gets a permanent "graphics update" that more resembles Kaizo's design style after they team up.
  • Oh, Crap!: Many examples but highlights include Mario's response when Melony holds her Fierce Deity blade to his throat during the Melon Eating Contest (forcing him to change it into a Melon Hugging Contest) and Kaizo's face when Donkey Kong raps about the latters "Dick-Breaking Techniques"
  • Plot Hole: A minor one. Mario is still wielding the Super Meggy Batâ„¢ when he fires Octobot King's main laser at the rest of the cast, but after the blast we see Meggy out-cold with the others. Since she isn't under the rubble like Saiko or Boopkins, it's possible Mario tossed her onto the pile after, but we never see it.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: The wish Mario meant earlier once Saiko beat all his challenges? An ugly-looking car which he tries to pass off as a "masterpiece". The others aren't happy. At all.
  • Shout-Out: Mario's final challenge is for all the other main characters to fight him in a mech. Specifically it's the Octobot King from Splatoon.
  • Spot the Impostor: An inverted case where the goal is to find the real Melony among dozens of Spy watermelons. Saiko locates her by playing a heavy metal version of "Baby Shark", causing Melony to sing along.
  • Status Buff: When Saiko and Kaizo play rock music together in the final round, it makes everyone stronger.
  • Take Our Word for It: It's not shown to the audience what exactly is in Bob's Embarrassing Browser History, only that just about everyone died from reading it and that Mario thinks that some of Bob's searches should be illegal.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Tari, normally known for being rather passive in fights, plays an equally active role in fighting Mario in the final round as everyone else.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: After Saiko helps him out despite all his attempts to sabotage her, Kaizo softens up around her and becomes her friend again.
  • Torches and Pitchforks: At the end, a bunch of Mario's friends whip out pitchforks and chase him down for the crap he put them through over a stupid car.
  • Trade Snark: Mario wielding Meggy with the Octobot King is officially the Super Meggy Bat (TM).
  • Vomit Indiscretion Shot: During the "Sonic Fanfic Reading" challenge, SMG4 and SMG3 must read Sonic fanfiction that causes them to vomit. When SMG4 asks Mario as where his source of the fanfic was from, Bob appears to be the one behind it, who then shows a drawing of Mario and Sonic kissing. This causes Mario to join in on the vomiting with both meme guardians.
  • Wins by Doing Absolutely Nothing: Deconstructed. Luigi wins the Shroomy's Shooting Range Survival challenge by doing nothing but only because he fell into shock when the round started and he's too traumatised to enjoy his victory afterwards.

Sonic fanfic reading

One challenge had SMG4 and SMG3 read Sonic fanfiction that's so bad it causes them to vomit. SMG4 questions Mario as to who wrote it (which is revealed to be Bob, who then shows a drawing of Mario and Sonic kissing, causing the whole room to vomit).

How well does it match the trope?
