The thirtieth episode of the sixth season of Rugrats (1991).
When Susie goes to the hospital to have her tonsils removed, the babies and Angelica visit her. The Rugrats bring her things, but Angelica is mean and obnoxious, playing with a Cynthia ventriloquist dummy. When Susie falls asleep, she has a dream that parodies The Wizard of Oz.
This episode provides examples of:
- Broken Ace: It is revealed in this episode that Susie is afraid of getting a tonsillectomy. She even admits to the babies that even though it sounds silly, she worries that she might not be able to talk anymore once the operation is finished.
- Continuity Cavalcade: Chuckie mentions some of his fears to Susie, including clowns, jack-in-the-boxes, really tall slides, the sandman, being turned into a watermelon, strange potties, and the dark.
- Cowardly Lion: In Susie's dream, Chuckie takes on the role of the Trope Namer. He even stands up to Angelica when the latter tries to make Susie her new dummy.
- Dream Episode: When Susie falls asleep, she has a dream that's a direct parody of The Wizard of Oz.
- "Everybody Laughs" Ending: This episode ends with Susie and the babies laughing when Chuckie asks Susie if Lucy can remove Cynthia's tonsils.
- Expy: Goober the Gopher, who was previously seen in "The Big Showdown", is one of Barney the Dinosaur. In addition to sounding like Barney, he is also colored purple with green hair (which is also the color palette of Barney) in this episode, rather than being orange like in his previous appearance.
- Good Witch Versus Bad Witch: In Susie's dream, Alisa and Angelica play the respective roles of Glinda the Good Witch and The Wicked Witch of the West.
- I'm Melting!: Parodied; Angelica appears to have melted after Dil squirts her with milk. However, all he really did was stain her wizard robe, as she shows up alive and complains about the stain seconds later.
- Off to See the Wizard: This episode is a direct parody of The Wizard of Oz, with Susie in the role of Dorothy, Spike in the role of Toto, and Angelica in the role of The Wicked Witch of the West.
- Phone A Holic Teenager: Alisa, Susie's older sister who takes on the role of Glinda the Good Witch in Susie's dream, is seen talking on her cell phone. She takes a break from it whenever she talks to Susie.
- Toilet Humor: Dil, who plays the role of the Wizard, dirties his diaper, which disgusts Angelica.
- The Tonsillitis Episode: In this episode, Susie suffers from tonsillitis. Her stay at the hospital is a Framing Device for her slipping into an Oz-esque dream world.
- Totem Pole Trench: The Wizard in Susie's dream is Angelica in a wizard's robe, with Dil sitting on her lap.
- Weapons That Suck: In Susie's dream, Angelica traps the babies by turning the flowers into plastic balls, causing the babies to sink in them. Alisa uses a giant vacuum cleaner to suck up the balls and set the babies free.
