After destroying the Strogg Fuel Refinery, Joker takes a tram to a new station, one which, for all intents and purposes, is a warehouse where its cargo used to be human.

The levels of this unit are "Lower Hangars", "The Hangars" and "Strogg Freighter", and the main objective is to infiltrate into the Spaceport and find a way into the Strogg Moon Base.

Followed by the Moon unit.

These levels show examples of:

  • Ability Required to Proceed:
    • "The Hangars":
      • The Blue Key allows the player to enter the area where the escape to the Strogg Freighter is located.
      • The Red Key allows the player to enter the maintenance hatch from where they can sneak in a crate in order to exit the level.
    • "Strogg Freighter":
      • The Blue Key unlocks access to the main bridge area.
      • The four Power Cubes in the bridge, available after the crew is wiped out, prevent the self-destruction mechanism once placed in the power chamber below the bridge.
  • Cargo Concealment Caper: Joker enters into the Strogg Freighter by hiding into one of the crates at the end of the level "The Hangars".
  • 11th-Hour Superpower: The player can find the BFG10K when they disable the blue forcefields in the Strogg Freighter.
  • Human Resources: Present in the level "The Hangars", where your main mission is to shut down a Strogg production facility. How is said stroyent produced? With human prisoners.
  • Load-Bearing Boss: A variation, killing the last enemies you'll find aboard the Strogg Freighter will trigger a Self-Destruct Sequence, and the player must hurry to place the Power Cubes where they belong, lest they blow up with the ship.
  • Monster Closet:
    • "Lower Hangars":
      • From the lower level entrance to the room with the crane and the boxes, just proceeding to the left will open one in the corridor prior with two Ripper Guards on it.
      • In the corridor leading to the computer room that opens the first locked door, approaching the elevator will trigger two ceiling explosions, from which two Technicians will come out.
      • Pressing the red-lighted computer will combine this with both Teleporting Keycard Squad and Press X to Die (unless you're going for 100% Completion), as it spawns two Enforcers in the lower area and opens a small chamber from where two Parasites come out.
      • On the way to the computers that control the red forcefields, going down some stairs will reveal a hidden chamber with a Gunner on it.
      • Deactivating the red forcefields with the computer will reveal two hidden chambers from where two Technicians will come out.
      • After taking the platform to the upper level, going through the stairs and approaching the button that unlocks a door will open a secret chamber below said button balcony from where two Hyperblaster Guards will come out.
    • "The Hangars": Just entering the first passage after the warehouse and turning right will trigger a wall revealing a Gladiator from out of it.
    • "Strogg Freighter": After the Blue Key door, stepping into the following room will open a secret chamber with some Weapon Guards and Gunners.
  • Mook-Themed Level: The Beta Class Gladiator is the most common enemy aboard the Strogg Freighter.
  • Point of No Return: The only way to access the Strogg Freighter is being transported via one of the cargo boxes, since the main entrance has been blocked. The problem? Once you get into the Freighter, there's no way back to the Hangars.
  • Press X to Die: At one point of "Lower Hangars", the player will be faced with two computers, one with a green light and another with the red light. The green light opens a locked door in order to proceed. The red light one? It spawns two Enforcers and opens a Monster Closet revealing two Parasites in the lower level of the area.
  • Prison Ship: The Strogg Fighter is a spaceship that contains a cellblock and guards looking after it.
  • Rewarding Vandalism:
    • Three secrets in "Lower Hangars" involve the destruction of stuff:
      • There's a secret Adrenaline, past the elevator from the computer that operates the red forcefields, which requires the destruction of a (conveniently marked) wall.
      • In the crane and cargo room, activating the crane will end with it crashing the cargo in a specific area. Going through this newly revealed area will lead to an Ammo Pack.
      • The final secret is located in the last room, another cargo-filled area, and requires the destruction of a black box in order to reveal a hidden Combat Armor.
    • "The Hangars":
      • There are two (surprisingly non secret) Stimpacks that are hidden in the ceiling near the first door. Which, of course, require shooting said ceiling. Luckily, these sections are easily recognizable.
      • The last secret of the level involves shooting a (conveniently marked) wall in order to obtain a Body Armor.
  • Room Full of Crazy: There are broken marines aboard the Freighter, both in the cargo boxes as well as the prison cells.
  • Teleporting Keycard Squad:
    • "Lower Hangars":
      • Opening the first locked door not only spawns the aforementioned Enforcers but also spawns two Technicians in the area where said door is located.
      • Too many to count once you pick up the Red Key and stop the Strogg production facility. Among them, a Gladiator on the bridge, and a Gunner and an Enforcer on the room with the button-controllable platform with cargo.
  • Timed Mission: The Strogg Freighter. Once you've killed all the guards near the end, a self-destruct sequence starts and you have to transport the Power Cubes to a stabilizing chamber with hurting lasers before time runs out.
  • Your Princess Is in Another Castle!: Right after passing the Blue Key door in "The Hangars", you notice that a big blue forcefield is locking the entrance to the Strogg Freighter. You're then required to find an alternate route.
