The riot is in full swing. Taystee and crew have Caputo and the PR guy from MCC hostage and are making a video to set the record straight on Poussey's death and call for the prosecution of CO Bayley. The inmates are collecting all the guards (read: hostages) in Spanish Harlem, and two guards have locked themselves in the kitchen where they have the NAZI girls, a white supremacist, and Frieda locked in the pantry.

- Crazy-Prepared: Frieda has her own doomsday bunker in the prison with food and electricity.
- Conspiracy Theorist: Frieda's father believed the Soviets were going to invade any minute now, which is why he has a bunker under the basement of the house.
- A Day in the Limelight: We see Frieda's backstory.
- Everyone Has Standards: Maria and her crew bring the guards into the Chapel and start enacting some revenge, including cavity searches. Piper and Alex (who are present) are sickened by this.
- Facial Horror: Humps as he goes through a stroke.
- Instant Leech: Just Fall in Water!: Young Frieda decides to go for a swim in the river. When she gets out, she's covered in leeches!
- Internal Reveal: Daya tells Ouija and Zirconia she lost the gun. Gloria and Maria figure it out on their own.
- Locked Out of the Loop: The guards and Judy King's group outside are unaware of the riot until Piscatella drives up.
- Macgyvering: Frieda makes a couple darts with needles and her own shoelaces, using a straw as a blowgun.
- Memetic Mutation: In-Universe, the only thing people took from Taystee's video was Black Cindy drinking iced coffee and putting her in memes.
- Pay Evil unto Evil: Maria and her girls bring the guards into the chapel and start doing to the guards what they've been doing to the inmates since Piscatella came into the picture. In the hospital, Maureen blows air bubbles into Humps' IV, giving him a stroke.
- To the Pain: Frieda tells the guards what the effects of wolfsbane in the human system are in detail, making them let her, Brandy, Sanky and Helen out.
- Even better, since (as Frieda points out afterwards) the prison wouldn't have Wolfsbane in the pantry and she's psyching them out.
