"Little Mustachioed Shit" is the tenth episode of Season 2 of Orange Is the New Black.
Piper returns from her furlough. A sweep for contraband uncovers many of the items from Red's smuggling operation, as well as (most damningly) Vee's cigarettes in a box of tampons, hidden by Vee in Watson's bunk. Vee attempts to move operations into the more heavily trafficked library; later, upset at that yet more may be taken from her, Poussey gets drunk on her moonshine and attacks Vee.
Flashbacks concern the beginning of Piper and Alex's relationship. Alex's then-girlfriend Sylvia walks in on Piper and Alex's first sexual encounter and attacks Piper. After Piper approaches Alex at the bar where they met, Sylvia leaves a flaming bag of feces outside Piper's door when she's discussing the new relationship with Polly. In the present, Piper receives a letter from Alex, and subtext during a visit from Polly makes her realize that Polly was the friend Larry slept with. In retaliation, Piper has her new sister-in-law replicate the feces prank.
Morello is visited by Christopher, who accuses her (accurately) of breaking into his house and threatens to kill her if she ever comes near his family again. Afterward, she breaks down to Nicky and admits that she has mental problems. Vee discovers Red's tunnel under the greenhouse and tries to buy into Red's operations, telling Red she's changed since they first met. While Red is thinking it over, Nicky brings her the sample of heroin given to her by Vee's girls, turning it in before she can give in to her addiction.
Daya's pregnancy is confirmed, and the staff makes preparations to fire Mendez; Caputo claims the honor for himself.
This episode provides examples of the following tropes:
- Anguished Declaration of Love: Mendez declares his love for Daya. After he's been fired and arrested, as he's being taken away.
- Burning Bag of Poop: This happens twice. In a flashback, Alex's ex Sylvie pulls this prank on Piper after learning that she and Alex have hooked up. Later, Piper does the same to Polly after learning that she and Larry are sleeping together.
- Fan Disservice: A naked Piper being attacked by Alex's psycho girlfriend Sylvie.
- Fanservice: Piper and Alex having sex in the college flashback.
- Pay Evil unto Evil: Caputo takes exquisite pleasure in describing to Mendez exactly how much shit he's in, right before opening the door so the federal marshals can take him away. In contrast, Daya and Bennett look quite guilty about their deception.
