The Time Twins force Kai and Nya to retrieve the last of the Time Blades, while the other ninja try to free Cyrus Borg and sabotage the Iron Doom.
This episode provides examples of:
- Big Damn Heroes: The new Samurai X reappears to help the ninja fight the Vermillion Warriors. In a car.
- Convection, Schmonvection: Despite being in an underwater volcano, Kai and Nya have absolutely no problem whatsoever.
- Costume Evolution: X took Nya's suggestion to change their look to heart. Instead of just wearing Nya's old outfit, they're sporting a new blue and gold number, along with a glowing blue visor that hides their face.
- Failsafe Failure: Borg had intended to put a self-destruct code in the Iron Doom's mechanism, but aside from being unable to put it in while he was captive, it's so ridiculously long as to be impractical.
- I Lied: The Twins were lying about letting Kai and Nya using the Reversal Time Blade to heal Wu.
- Painting the Medium: When Kai and Nya head underwater, the soundtrack becomes muted, as if the viewer themselves were underwater.
- Paper-Thin Disguise: The ninja disguising themselves as Vermillion Warriors, which involves putting some armor over their regular outfits. It actually fools Borg, and very nearly works on the warriors, had Jay not bungled it.
- Taking the Bullet: Ray leaps in the way of a Time Punch meant for Kai, subjecting him to the same rapid aging that's been afflicting Wu.
- Wall Crawl: Samurai X's car can drive on walls.
- You Can't Thwart Stage One: The ninja don't manage to sabotage the Iron Doom, the Twins steal the final Time Blade, and prepare to use the Iron Doom to go back in time and rewrite history.
