  • Bittersweet Ending: After months of sheer turmoil and consistent loss, Darlene avenges fsociety by finally completing the objective that she, Elliot, Mr. Robot, and the rest of the group set out to accomplish in the first place: the biggest redistribution of wealth in history. However, Darlene and Dominique realize that they cannot be together, and must learn how to take care of themselves instead of being needlessly chained to each other out of desperation.
  • But for Me, It Was Tuesday: Two examples, both darkly humorous:
    • Leon has trouble remembering who Dominique is despite holding her hostage in a barn two months prior.
    • When Irving runs into Dominique, he is oddly jovial about it. He even approaches her as if she was just an acquaintance. This is the same man who sadistically murdered her boss with an axe right in front of her and blackmailed her into Dark Army servitude.
  • Breather Episode: After the high-stakes Deus Group hack in "409 Conflict", this episode is significantly toned down in urgency, with a minimal cast of characters and truckloads of Fanservice. Heavily needed as well, considering the next three episodes...
  • The Bus Came Back: Irving returns for one scene after being absent since season three... and by consequence scares the living daylights out of Dominique.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • Leon fulfills the promise he made to Elliot by escorting Darlene and Dominique to the airport.
    • Dominique finds Irving's novel, Beach Towel, while browsing a bookstore. The man himself appears not a moment after to chat her up.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending:
    • Dominique, a woman burdened by her responsibilities as an FBI agent and a Dark Army mole, accepts the opportunity to have a fresh start. The final shot of the episode (and of the character) is her finally catching some much-needed sleep.
    • Darlene, having spent years relying on others for emotional support, finally gains the will to be her own person.
  • Foreshadowing: Irving mentions a part in chapter twelve of his book where the main character strangles his mother to death. This becomes a touch prophetic come episode twelve, in which Elliot strangles his alternate (later revealed to be real) self to death in order to assume his identity.
  • Lighter and Softer: Considering the adrenaline and violence of the last few episodes and the total Mind Screw that is about to follow, this is a well deserved Breather Episode.
  • Money to Throw Away: Darlene redistributes the hacked funds of the Deus Group out to every citizen's E-Coin account.
  • Official Couple: Darlene and Dom come very, very close, but are separated by the end of the episode despite Dom changing her mind and trying to catch up with Darlene.
  • Put on a Bus: Dom. She's earned it, though.
  • Race for Your Love: Subverted. Dom changes her mind about staying in the US and runs all the way back to the terminal to board the plane Darlene is about to leave on. Seconds before Dom arrives at the gate and boards the plane, Darlene has run off to the bathroom to have a panic attack. They do not reunite before the plane takes off.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Dom's role as a mole of the Dark Army and the ensuring shoot-out will be investigated thoroughly by the FBI. The implication is that, despite having been blackmailed into it, her career is done.
  • The Unreveal: The total dollar amount of funds stolen from the Deus Group is never revealed. Dom's response to the payout sum landing in her account is, "Did everyone get this much?"
  • Wham Shot: While at a bookstore in the airport, someone calls out to Dominique. It's Irving.
