We're introduced to Dethklok, the world's greatest metal band and the world's seventh largest economic power. The band hires a new chef who's horribly mangled in a helicopter accident, forcing the band to try and get their own food.

- It's also the only episode to not feature Offdensen at all due to him not being introduced until the very next one.
- Toki had Skwisgaar's Character Tic of fingering the guitar. Later episodes make it exclusively Skwisgaar's habit.
- Early-Bird Cameo: The opening riff of "Hatredy" (featured a few episodes later) is used as transition music.
- Epic Fail: Dethklok's attempt at grocery shopping.
- "Eureka!" Moment: When Toki says the band's attempt at sewing Jean-Pierre together would be wrong, Nathan gets the inspiration for "Sewn Back Together Wrong".
- Everyone Has Standards: Even the most brutal band in the history of the world can't help but get a bit freaked out when they see what Jean-Pierre looks like after he's surgical reconfigured.
- Helicopter Blender: The Dethcopter slices through a flock of doves on the way to the concert. It also slices up Jean-Pierre after a mishap with fireworks launches him into the blades.
- High Turnover Rate: Dethklok warns their new chef, Jean-Pierre, that their previous chefs frequently died Cruel and Unusual Deaths.
- Hypocritical Humor: Jean Pierre offers wine from the Prime Minister of Norway. Nathan says the band never drinks [alcohol] before a show, only to reveal everyone else loading up on booze, including Nathan.
- Let Me Get This Straight...: At the grocery store, Pickles asks a seafood worker about cooking lobsters.Pickles: Okay, hold on now, so you're telling me that you put these little guys in boiling water and they shriek, and they turn red and they die?
Worker: Yes sir.
Pickles: That is the most metal thing I ever heard in my whole life. - Mundane Made Awesome: Nathan explicitly states that they intend to do this to coffee with their endorsement of Duncan Hills.
- No One Could Survive That!: Jean-Pierre getting sucked into a dethcopter propeller.
- Soft Glass: Averted. Nathan shatters a glass display case at a deli with his forehead to grab some sausages. He comes away from this with several shards of glass stuck in his arms and head. He doesn't seem to notice.
- The Omniscient Council of Vagueness: This episode introduces the Tribunal, who do what Omnicient Councils of Vagueness do best. Magical cameras? Check. Ill-defined plan? You bet'cha.
- Opening Shout-Out: Senator Stampington introduces the members of Dethklok by quoting the Theme Tune Roll Call verbatim.
- Vetinari Job Security: Dethklok's attempts to make food while chef Jean-Pierre's in a coma does not go over well.
- Visual Pun: Dethklok pours large amounts of boiling coffee onto the fans, whose resulting injuries reflect Skwissgaar's face-melting guitar solo.
