Long ago, Maxwell interfered with the space-time continuum when he warned the crew of the Titanic of impending danger. The consequences of his actions led to America eventually de-evolving into a lawless dystopia, with the residents of Hollywood seeking refuge in Australia. Can Koala Man rescue his son from the lure of Yank culture?

Tropes

  • Alternate History: In this universe, a young Maxwell used Australia's state of being 15 hours in the future from America to send a telegram to the Titanic in the past to warn them of their impending doom, allowing them to avert it. This allows the ship to reach America safely, and a cursed Egyptian mummy queen to escape her sarcophagus in the ship’s cargo and lead America to victory in both World Wars, eventually becoming President. However, while signing a peace treaty with the U.S.S.R., she and Leonid Brezhnev fell in love and the two abandoned their people for the moon. As a result, America fell into a lawless, war-torn, chaotic wasteland, with the exception of Hollywood, which broke off and drifted out to sea as an island.
  • Ambiguous Situation: When Chad's car is about to kill the Queen by grilling her to death, Alison pushes Saucy Jr. in front of the Queen so she ends up dying instead. It's unclear if she did that intentionally to remove her from popularity rank at school, or it was a unforeseen accident on Alison's part.
  • Answer Cut: Big Greg announces that they're going to have the Miss Sausage Roll Pageant at the same time when the Queen of Australia visits Dapto so the Queen will crown the winner. He explains that while it's a last minute addition, he's sure they'll be able to find some desperate, psychotic, unpopular losers who will enter the pageant, then it cuts to Alison telling Vicky she's going to enter Miss Sausage Roll.
  • Anthropomorphic Food: Saucy Simmons, along with her husband and daughter, Saucy Simmons Jr., are large, talking sausage rolls and their existence is never explained. This also gives them an advantage in the Miss Sausage Roll Pageant.
  • Beauty Contest: Dapto has the Miss Sausage Roll pageant where it's a beauty pageant but the girls dress up as a sausage roll. Saucy Simmons and her daughter Saucy Simmons Jr. have an advantage due to being actual sausage rolls.
  • Butterfly of Doom: In the show’s universe, Australia literally exists 15 hours in the future from America, and thus has a "Red-Hot Rule" that forbids warning anyone outside of Australia of any impending disasters. However, in 1912, a young Maxwell sends a telegram back to the Titanic to warn them of their impending disaster, triggering a bizarre chain of events that results in America becoming a war-torn, anarchic wasteland and Hollywood a floating island separate from it.
  • Consolation Prize: While Alison initially won Miss Sausage Roll, she ends up losing it after Saucy Jr. died in the Queen's place and she wins posthumously for "saving" the Queen. Alison was devastated that she lost, but she later realizes that with Saucy Jr. out of the way, she's able to climb up the ranks of being popular at her school.
  • Cooked to Death: Chad was planning to kill the Queen by parking his car in front of her where the hood of his car opens up to reveal a grill and a giant spatula. The giant spatula would scoop the Queen up and press her on the grill of the hood where she would be crushed and burnt to death. But the Queen's death was prevented and Saucy Jr. suffers this fate.
  • The Coup: Chad Wagner seizes control of Australia by assassinating the Queen. The coup is later erased out of existence thanks to a warning from the future.
  • Easily Swayed Population: Maxwell overhears on the radio five minutes in the future from Dapto that Queen Nicole Kidman has been killed, her killer is assuming control over Australia, and everyone is just going along with it.
  • Elective Monarchy: Nicole Kidman became Queen of Australia despite lacking any royal heritage.
  • Fallen States of America: The United States becomes a toxic wasteland after undergoing a second civil war following its abandonment by its president. Hollywood avoids this fate by literally becoming a floating island.
  • I Have No Son!: Maxwell's father calls the Time Bobbies on him for ignoring his warning about breaking the "Red Hot Rule" and declaring he has no son.
  • It Only Works Once: Vicky lost Miss Sausage Roll because Saucy Simmons made the floor slippery when she poured vegetable oil on herself and left a greasy trail. Saucy Jr. does the same trick at the pageant, but Alison is able to take advantage of the slippery floor and uses it to gracefully skate across the runway, which impresses the judges and she wins.
  • Kitschy Themed Restaurant: Chad Wagon's restaurant theme is based around America and overexaggerates his patriotism of America.
  • Lost Him in a Card Game: Chad challenges Koala Man to a street race where the winner gets Liam. Koala Man loses not just because Chad has a superior car, but he still abides to the traffic laws. He thought Chad would get in trouble if he drove by the traffic cam, but he drives so fast that the speed bump causes his car to leap high enough to dodge the camera and instead Koala Man gets caught speeding on the camera.
  • My Greatest Second Chance: When Vicky was young, she lost Miss Sausage Roll to Saucy Simmons, an actual talking sausage roll, because Saucy poured vegetable oil on herself during her strut and Vicky slipped on her greasy trail and she later learned that Saucy intentionally did that to make Vicky lose. When Alison reveals that Saucy's daughter is competing in this year's Miss Sausage Roll, it's enough to convince Vicky to help Alison win the pageant.
  • Mythology Gag: Young Maxwell resembles one of the Deranged Animation designs of Mordi from Rick and Morty: Bushworld Adventures, which was created by Michael Cusack.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: When Damo and Darren tries to rob Chad's wagon, Chad arrives in his car to brutally beat them up.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: Saucy Simmons has the unfortune luck to watch her daughter, Saucy Jr., being grilled to death.
  • Patriotic Fervor: Chad Wagon is the very Fratbro esque owner of a 1950s American styled diner who acts like a character plucked right from The Fast and the Furious and is scheming to turn Australia into a second United States.
  • Richard Nixon, the Used Car Salesman: Nicole Kidman is the Queen of Australia.
  • Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: When Maxwell was a kid, he warned the captain of the Titanic that it's going to sink in five minutes despite just learning about the "Red-Hot Rule" he's forbidden to break. After that, he swears to never change the future again after his actions unintentionally led to America turning into a lawless wasteland in the present. But in the present, after Maxwell moved to an island that's one minute ahead of Dapto, he learns the Queen of Australia and Liam is going to die and Australia will become America 2.0. While he hesitates to warn Koala Man, not wanting to break the "Red-Hot Rule" again, he breaks the rule again to save the Queen, Liam, and Australia. Just when the Time Bobbies arrive to arrest Maxwell, the Queen arrives to pardon him for breaking the law again because he saved her life.
  • Sequel Hook: At the end of the episode, President Mummy uses one of her bandages to travel from the moon to Dapto and finds Chad's squished remains. After she magically put what's left of him in a canopic jar shaped like his head, she swears to avenge him.
  • Shameful Shrinking: When Koala Man uses The First Amendment to start insulting Chad, he starts shrinking from each insults. He's gotten so small, that he's ran over by a car.
  • Stupid Crooks: Damo and Darren try to rob Chad's restaurant using plastic knives and threaten to stab anyone if they try to stop them. They're easily taken down by Chad Wagon.
  • Time Police: "Time Bobbies" arrest anyone who breaks the "Red Hot Rule" altering the past due to Australia being fifteen hours ahead of America.
  • Training Montage: When Vicky agrees to train Alison for the Miss Sausage Roll Pageant, we get a montage, mixed with other events that involves Koala Man and Liam, where we see Vicky training Alison how to walk down the runway dressed as a sausage roll.
