While at a county fair, Johnny tries to go on an air slingshot ride but is denied due to being too short as the vendor doesn't count his hair as part of the height limit. Wanting to fix this, he has his sisters make his hair more sturdy so the vendor can't press down on it. However, the process ends up making his hair sentient, and it soon gains a love of doing daredevil stunts, bringing an unwilling Johnny along for the ride.
Tropes:
- Becareful What You Wish For: Johnny succeeds in getting past the height requirement and rides the slingshot ride, only for it to be a bit too intense for him. It doesn't help that his new hair drags him back on the ride several times.
- Big Damn Heroes: After Johnny's hair is pulled off his head, the hair comes back to save Johnny and Crash Canasta from falling into a lion's pit as part of the stunt to lure the hair to it.
- Chekhov's Gun: The hair and the slingshot ride. Since the hair's indestructible, Crash volunteers to use the slingshot ride to launch at the meteor for the hair to take it out.
- I Was Quite a Looker: Crash Canasta, an old daredevil, shows a picture of himself in his younger days where he indeed looked quite fetching. In the present day, he suffers Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow and tries to compensate with a wig taped to his helmet.
- Lame Pun Reaction: Dukey and, at one point, a fireman make some hair puns, which are often met with a "No. Just… No" Reaction.
- Prehensile Hair: The focus of this episode, where Johnny's attempts to strengthen his hair to get past the height requirement for a ride end up bringing it to life.
- Prematurely Bald: Susan and Mary end up getting their hair cut short, then nearly cut bald, thanks to Johnny's hair cutting it away when they try to cut it off. Johnny ends up becoming bald when the hair is finally pulled off his head.
- Running Gag:
- Crash Canasta often lamenting his Glory Days of having hair, prompting one of the characters to remark "Well, that was a sad interlude."
- Someone making a hair pun (usually Dukey) and often met with a disdainful response.
- Something We Forgot: Near the start of the episode, the girls are trying to find a way to stop a meteor from hitting Porkbelly. They get sidetracked by helping Johnny. By the time they remember the meteor, it's only a few minutes away.
- Thrill Seeker: Due to the adrenaline from riding the slingshot ride, the nanites that made Johnny's hair sturdier ended up absorbing the chemical and cause Johnny's hair to develop of a love for daredevil stunts.
- You Must Be This Tall to Ride: What kickstarts the plot, Johnny attempting to go on a slingshot ride and being denied when attempting to cheat by using his hair.
- Wall Crawl: Johnny's hair scales up a building while still attached to his head, much to his displeasure.
