Two strangers from the future arrive. One of them is concerned about Jade.
This episode provides examples of:
- Bad Future: Future Jade comes from a time where dragons have overtaken the world and Shendu is set to be liberated from statue form.
- Call-Back: Future Jade notes that Drago used Shendu's spell to conjure dragon minions from "Day of the Dragon".
- Future Badass: Jade grows up to become Section 13's boss.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Both Jades taunt Drago including doubting he's Shendu's son. Drago tries to flame them only for them to toss the dragon teeth into the literal line of fire, thus destroying them in the future and preventing Shendu's revival from statue form.
- Oh, No... Not Again!: Future Shendu has this reaction when he turns back into a statue just after he had been freed.
- Resignations Not Accepted: Jackie learns in horror that he may never leave Section 13 and have a normal life in the future.
- San Dimas Time: According to Future Jade, the exact time she left the future is the same as when she arrived in the present. As such, the clock ticking down to Chinese New Year in the past is the same as in the future, when Future Shendu will be freed.
- Set Right What Once Went Wrong: With Section 13 overrun by Drago's dragon minions and Shendu set to be freed while Future Jackie and Uncle have been captured, Future Jade realizes the only way to stop it would be to travel back into the past and destroy the dragon teeth Drago was using to release Shendu.
- So Proud of You: Just before she returns to the future, Jackie tells Future Jade that he's proud of the person she's become. Future Jade replies that she owes it all to the way Jackie raised her.
- Unfinished, Untested, Used Anyway: The time travel spell Jade used had never been tried before, so she didn't expect it to take her all the way into the past when she was a child.
- We Will Meet Again: Drago's last line as he's stewing in a cell is "The dragons will rise again!". This actually ends up being Foreshadowing for the next and final season.
- When the Clock Strikes Twelve: In a Race Against the Clock, Future Jade needs to find and destroy the dragon teeth used to release Future Shendu before midnight on Chinese New Year, otherwise Future Jackie and Uncle would be his dinner.
- Wrong Time-Travel Savvy: At first, Jade believed Drago came back to the past to eliminate her as a child so she wouldn't be a problem to him in the future. However, Jackie notes that he left without finishing her off, prompting Future Jade to explain that she didn't follow Drago into the past, he followed her.
