Post-Harvest Festival Chapters Summary

Chapter 143: Heartfelt Cooking Lesson

Iruma is back to the usual routine of providing a "First Love Memories" reading session to Ameri, which they reach a cooking chapter where Rin bakes cookies for Kakeru. Seeing Ameri showing interest in the cookies, Iruma asks if she would like to come over to his house, much to Ameri's shock. Jumping ahead, Ameri and Iruma are now in the kitchen of the Sullivan household ready to bake some cookies. Opera had prepared the kitchen for Iruma and Ameri to use, and watches the two of them from a far. However, to Opera's disbelief, it turns out that neither of them learned how to properly cook as Iruma had to survive on his own back in the wilderness of the human world, and Ameri's father, Azazel, never had it in him to tell his daughter that her cooking was horrible whenever she cooked for him.

In the end, Iruma and Ameri end up cooking an absolute monstrosity, but are completely satisfied by the result. However, Opera calls them out on their poor cooking, and prepares himself to properly teach Iruma and Ameri how to cook. Over time, Iruma and Ameri follow along with Opera's instructions until they're eventually able to bake their own batch of normal cookies. Though Opera is left completely wiped out due to the struggles of having to teach two complete newbies. Taking this moment seriously, Ameri puts some of the cookies into a bag, and offers it to Iruma as a reward from her for placing first place in the Harvest Festival. In return, Iruma happily accepts, which pleases Ameri. Suddenly, the two of them desire for Opera to teach them how to make hamburgers, which he's left in disbelief asking for a break.

Chapter 144: Buddies

At home, Sullivan is shocked to find that for the first time, Iruma is asking if he can have something. That something turns out to be a handheld for video gaming. Shortly after, Iruma is seen arriving at an apartment complex as he had been invited by Lied to hang out at his home to have fun celebrating their Harvest Festival win. Iruma shows off that he succeeded in getting a handheld from his grandfather, which Lied invites Iruma to his room so that they can eat snacks while playing games with one another on their handhelds. He also warns Iruma to avoid his older sister's room. While setting up their game characters, Lied asks Iruma about the type of girl that Iruma prefers, which an embarrassed Iruma claims he's not really all that interested. Lied doesn't buy into it, and pulls out a secret weapon from under his bed: a demon porn magazine, much to Iruma's shock.

Iruma rejects the magazine, which results in the two arguing. Their yelling ends up disturbing Lied's older sister to storm into the room, and rants about the noise. Lied yells at her to calm down given that he has company, which catches his older sister's attention. She quickly leaves the room, and then returns dressed up to try to hit on Iruma. Lied angrily yells at her to leave, and when he manages to get her out of his room, Iruma isn't surprised that the two of them are family given how similar they are. However, the older sister comes storming back in having realized that Iruma's the grandson of Principal Sullivan, which Lied is forced to drag her back to her room himself. Tying up his sister in bed sheets, Lied warns his sister not to take advantage of Iruma given his naiveness, which surprises his older sister seeing how overprotective he's being for someone else. In return, Lied claims that it's because he views Iruma as his younger brother.

Seeing Lied not acting like the loner that he used to be, his older sister notes that Lied has changed, and must actually like his current classmates. Lied gives off a massive smile claiming that to be the case as he provides his tied up sister a bottle of water while ordering her to go to sleep. After Lied leaves, the older sister laughs to herself that her younger brother doesn't seem to view everything as boring anymore. Lied then returns to his room, which Iruma goes about thanking him. Iruma explains that while all their classmates pitched in to help him win the Harvest Festival, no one provided a bigger contribution than Lied. Iruma states that he now thinks of Lied as a reliable little brother, much to Lied's disbelief as he yells back that Iruma's the younger brother. Iruma doesn't agree with it given that Lied actually is a little brother to his older sister, which results in the two of them arguing over it.

Chapter 145: The Teachers' Banquet

At an underworld bar known as the Brawl Inn, Robin has set up a banquet for the Babyls teachers to celebrate the success of this year's Harvest Festival. Robin finds it surprising that Oswell and Kalego haven't shown up, which he's told that Oswell isn't a drinker, and that Kalego never shows up. However, it comes as a surprise to everyone when Shichiro arrives at the Brawl Inn alongside Kalego, who was dragged along by the former. Despite being dragged to the banquet, Kalego goes along with it once he hears that Principal Sullivan is paying for the tab, which he goes for the most expensive products. Teacher March serves as their waiter, which it's revealed that he's actually related to Mar, the manager for evidol Kuromu (not knowing that it's Kerori). Robin then drags teacher Momonoki along to hang out with him and Kalego in order to know more about her past, which she struggles to handle the situation given her obvious crush on Kalego. It turns out that Momonoki was like Robin being trained by Kalego during her newbie days.

Teacher Dali is also revealed to have served as Kalego's mentor back in the day, which shocks everyone finding it hard to believe that a playful person like Dali was able to mentor someone like Kalego. Given their history, Shichiro vouches for Dali that it's indeed the truth. Dali explains that while Kalego has always been quite the handful, it turned out to be really surprising that he gets along with the Abnormal Class, especially Iruma after all the incidents and events the boy was involved in throughout his first year. Robin cheerfully points out that this is a given that teachers and students are like family. However, Kalego quickly answers that he's wrong, which silences all the teachers.

Getting serious, Dali agrees with Kalego's answer explaining to the naive Robin that the young and talanted up-and-coming students are the new impetus that will shape the underworld's future. Thus, making them precious treasures. Dali states that their actual role regarding the relationships with their students is to be guardians. To pledge their lives to teach their students, and protect them from the enemies who are aiming for their precious treasures. Dali ends his speech toasting to education, which all the other teachers agree to before going back to having fun and getting drunk. Despite the seriousness returning to normal, the speech left an impact on Robin. Kalego is left annoyed that Dali pulled out the teachers' motto, but he orders Robin to remember such words, which the newbie happily agrees. The banquet resumes until all the teachers are lying on the floor completely wiped out from drinking. Kalego and Shichiro head home while Robin, as the banquet's organizer, is left behind to clean up the mess.

Chapter 146: Disturbed Demon World

Sullivan shows his appreciation to Bachiko by holding a banquet for her at his home as a thank you for helping Iruma achieve Rank 4 (Daleth). He remains glad that he entrusted his grandson to Bachiko given that she's as strong as any of the 13 Crowns, which irritates Bachiko as she remembers that she doesn't get along all that well with the 13 Crown member, Paimon. Sullivan then states that he was worried about asking Bachiko to be Iruma's special tutor given how unsociable she is, and while Bachiko admits that she didn't take it serious at first, she happily smiles that Iruma's become her best student. Happy with the result, Sullivan switches to serious mode to move to the next topic of discussion, which Bachiko quickly kneels before him ready to listen.

Showing the reports from Opera, Sullivan explains to Bachiko that the next 13 Dinner meeting has been postponed due to the number of powerful high-ranking demons that have gone missing from various places recently. He further explains that while the cause of the disappearances are unknown, he has a hunch that the Six Fingers are behind it given that said group is known to erase all traces of their involvement. Bachiko activates her bow magic believing that what Sullivan is asking for is her help to hunt down the enemies. However, Sullivan suddenly stops acting serious claiming that that's not the case, much to her shock. He then returns to being serious explaining that as educators, what they must focus on the most when the demon world has become disturbed is their teaching. That by raising their students with the best instructions and protecting them, they as the adults will bring peace back by guiding said students. He asks if Bachiko agrees, which she quickly does having been greatly impacted by Sullivan's speech. Sullivan then asks Bachiko to continue training his grandson given that he's a human. The reveal comes as a complete shock to her.

Bachiko remains confused over the knowledge of Iruma being human, which Sullivan suggests to have the memories of the conversation they just had erased if she has no desire to protect Iruma together with him. Iruma then enters the room, and is surprised to see his master. Looking at Iruma, Bachiko thinks over the journey she's had with Iruma so far, and realizes that it's probably because he's a human that he's the only one that can actually be her student. As Iruma goes into servant mode and provides her a table and drink, Bachiko is completely satisfied with Iruma being human, and remains determined to always keep an eye on him. However, the sight of Iruma acting like a servant for Bachiko comes to irritate Sullivan and Opera, which freaks Bachiko out. Iruma then returns to rest in his room after getting a scolding from Bachiko over acting like a servant, and looks at his Ring of Gluttony, which Ali remains asleep given how much mana they had to use during the Harvest Festival. The next day, Iruma, Azz, and Clara are seen getting ready for the 2nd final event for first-year students: the Music Festival.
