New Teachers Arc Summary

Chapter 220: A New Piece

At Babyls, teacher Robin remains excited that he's now a 2nd-year teacher, and goes about his role as the mentor for the new rookie teachers by reminding them of the importance to educate and protect their treasured students. The two new teachers accept Robin's advice, but their identities remain unknown for the moment. Meanwhile, teacher March is seen standing before the Abnormal class within Royal One having set up a demonic looking slot machine known as the "Devil-in-the-Slot 666." March explains that the device is designed to measure one's magical aptitude based on the mana that they've each poured into the small black orbs that they were provided. Each student puts their mana-infused black orb into the slot machine, and in return, they're provided stat sheets that show off their current stats and abilities.

The stat sheets that each student is provided consists of 3 things. 1) Their current stats in Mana, Constitution, Bloodline Magic, Magic, Intelligence, and Strength. 2) The Special Abilities that they currently have. 3) The Advanced and Intermediate spells that they're able to learn. Amongst the stat sheets that are seen, Kerori is shown to have mixed all around stats, Schnedier has max Intelligence, Sabro is high in everything, and Lied is lopsided towards high Magic and Mana but low in everything else. Next stat sheets is Azz and Clara. Azz is high in everything, but his stats for Mana and Magic are so high that they go off the chart. As for Clara, she has oddly shaped mixed stats, but a high "Unknown" stat that replaces the Intelligence stat, which confuses everyone. Once it's Iruma's turn to be provided his stat sheet, the "Devil-in-the-Slot 666" ends up going haywire over Iruma's black orb, and spits out an ominous looking sheet that's almost completely smeared black. In addition, an image of what looks like a demonic minotaur head can be sorta seen through the black smear.

Confused by Iruma's odd stat sheet, Azz remains excited that the tool was unable to measure Iruma's abilties. Schneider adds in that it's just like their first-year when Iruma was pulling off oddities, such as turning a demon into his familiar, being given an odd ring instead of a demon rank, and growing an unknown Sakura Tree. Teacher March informs the class that their stat sheets are to be provided to the two new teachers they've hired as said teachers are going to be in charge of developing their practical skills. The Abnormal class remains worried that they're going to have another troublesome new teacher like Robin, but March assures them that Robin was just a special case. Robin then arrives at Royal One as he's brought along the two new teachers to introduce them to the Abnormal class. As the two new teachers proceed to introduce themselves, they're revealed to be two members of the villainous Six Fingers: Atori and Shiida.

Chapter 221: Nice to Meet You

As Atori and Shiida stand before the Abnormal class, Robin explains to the misfits that the two new teachers have been assigned to teach them anything from attacking, defense, magic, healing, and to practice against as sparring partners. Robin leaves off stating that he's counting on the new teachers to do well, which Atori steps forward looking scary claiming that he's looking forward to knowing the misfits. The students seem fearful at first only for them to get excited at how much of a proper and strong teacher Atori comes off as. As Atori gets along with the class, Iruma remains silent standing before Shiida making it seem like they've met before. Eventually, Iruma introduces himself as if he's meeting Shiida for the first time; showing that like everyone else, his memories of meeting Shiida at Walter Park were erased. Shortly after, the Abnormal students all quickly approach Shiida wanting to know more about her as teacher March advises them all to get going as it's just introductions for today.

Before heading off, Atori and Shiida are provided the stat sheets of the Abnormal students for their eventual teaching, and Shiida takes one last look at Iruma. As Atori and Shiida walk down the hallway together, the former feels relieved that they nailed first contact within the school. Seeing Shiida remain silent and possibly worried over the situation, Atori assures her that it's fine since the Abnormal class doesn't remember them. That everything related to the Six Fingers hanging out with the mistfits at Walter Park has vanished since boss Wett's memory-wiping magic is flawless. He advises Shiida to focus on their mission as a flashback is seen of Atori and Shiida standing before their boss, Thunder Lord Baal. Providing the two of them with a mission, Baal orders Atori and Shiida to bring him everything they find at Babyls that might have a connection to Demon King Delkira. He advises them to focus on Royal One given that it was the Demon King's classroom, which they can take advantage of the fact that the Abnormal class is currently using it. However, he orders them to kill the students if they get in the way. Shiida remains silent to the order while Atori gets excited over it.

Before sending Atori and Shiida off, Baal makes it clear that there's one exception that they can't kill. He shows them a picture of Iruma claiming that the boy still has another purpose to serve. Baal orders Atori and Shiida to bring Iruma back to him alive if the boy suspects that something's going on. Meanwhile, Kirio is seen standing at Baal's right side excited at possibly seeing Iruma again. Back in the present, Atori is seen looking over the stat sheets, and upon seeing Iruma's odd looking black smeared one, he questions what it is that Baal wants with him. Shiida remains silent, which Atori figures that getting a drink will fix her ongoing mopiness. Suddenly, the two are caught off-guard by Shichiro popping up behind them. Shichiro apologizes for scaring them, but he then gives them a smile asking if they can chat for a bit.

Chapter 222: Talk's End

A brief flashback is seen of Baal providing Atori and Shiida some last bit of advice where they need to avoid 3 specific demons during their mission at Babyls. Along with Principal Sullivan and his guard dog, Naberius Kalego, Baal also warns them to watch out for the gargoyle, Balam Shichiro. Meanwhile in the present, Shichiro is now sitting with Atori and Shiida within the former's office for a chat over tea. Atori remains on guard knowing about Shichiro's bloodline ability, Buzzer, which allows Shichiro to easily detect one's lies or falsehood. Shichiro starts his chat interrogation asking Atori and Shiida why they chose to become teachers. Atori plays off it pointing out how out-of-nowhere such a question is when conversations usually start with more basic get-to-know-you things, which Shiida agrees with. However, Shichiro points out that it's quite normal to ask coworkers about wanting to work at Babyls. In return, Atori announces that he wants to destroy it, which shocks Shiida, and catches Shichiro's attention.

Atori explains that he's just referring to destroying Babyls in an educational sense, such a "revolutionizing" the place with a new style of education, which Shichiro accepts despite how extreme it sounds. Further explaining, Atori adds that it only makes sense that creation can't be done without some destruction. However, the atmosphere becomes serious as a threatening Shichiro asks them if the students are going to be caught up in such destruction. Before Atori could attempt to answer, Shiida takes over announcing to Shichiro that they have no intention of ever putting the students in danger. Shichiro accepts the answer as Atori goes along with it claiming that he's not going to hurt them either. Afterwards, Atori and Shiida are seen walking away from Shichiro's office. The pressure he felt from Shichiro makes Atori feel ecstatic that he came to Babyls, but Shiida remains silent.

Shortly after, Shiida visits the Babyls garden, and runs into Iruma preparing to tend to it. He asks if Shiida would like to help with the seed planting, which she agrees to. While the two of them go about planting seeds, Iruma starts to get the sense that he's possibly met Shiida before, which catches her attention. Iruma explains that he felt it during class introduction as well, and is on the verge of asking if they've met before. At that same time, Shichiro is seen on his phone informing Sullivan that he's confirmed Atori and Shiida to be dangerous demons. Shichiro explains that while their words didn't set off his Buzzer ability, he could tell through their basic movements, such as their horn touching and hands fidgeting, that they're the behaviors of those who are hiding something. Sullivan accepts the report, which Shichiro makes it clear that if Atori and Shiida do anything bad to the school or its students, the two of them will be given a brutal education.

At that same time, Shiida is seen to have jumped Iruma. Her hand over his mouth ordering him to not say another word. She then orders Iruma to head home since classes are over, and then leaves before Iruma could say anything back. While alone, Shiida pulls out the photo that she took with Iruma at Walter Park, which Shiida's been removed from it. This reveals the possible connection that's still there as to why Iruma sorta remembers Shiida despite Wett's memory-erasing magic as she's choosing to keep a crucial picture. While looking at the picture, Shiida says to herself that no matter what, not only will she protect Iruma, she will never hurt him.
