List of INVADERS of the ROKUJYOUMA!? novels (titles contain unmarked spoilers!).

The scripts for J-Novel's official English translations of books 1-22 can be read on their site for free, though the colour illustrations at the start of each volume aren't included.

Introductory Arc

A high schooler named Koutarou Satomi decides to live in the cheap Room 106 at Corona House by himself. But after a strange accident at his part-time job (leaving him with dim memories of a person in an underground cavern), a Fantasy Kitchen Sink of "invaders" start to show up, all seeking to claim Room 106 for themselves. Initially the group settle on betting for ownership over the room through games of chance and skill, but over time it becomes clear that the invaders all have complicated circumstances, and the room starts to feel less important as they come to care for each other like family.

One of the invaders, Princess Theia of the Holy Galactic Empire of Forthorthe, eventually enlists Koutarou to portray the lead in a play she's written for their school - The Blue Knight, a legendary Messiah figure of her people. Her strict lessons on swordsmanship and etiquette, combined with boons from the other invaders, slowly round Koutarou into a fighter skilled enough to stand beside the girls as they fight to protect the things they care about.

This arc forms the basis of the Animated Adaptation, though most of the events of book 7 are left out.

Ancient Forthorthe Arc (The Silver Princess and the Blue Knight)

During a performance of the second Blue Knight play, Theia's rival Clariossa accidentally flings herself and Koutarou through time and space, arriving in Ancient Forthorthe just as the Silver Princess herself is under attack. Still wearing his costume, Koutarou is forced to step into the role of the Blue Knight and lead the campaign to save her nation; his sheer admiration for the legendary Ideal Hero makes him struggle to accept that it was him all along, and he pushes himself to act as selfless and heroic as possible in order to avoid tarnishing the Blue Knight's legacy. Along the way he takes multiple levels in badass and learns a number of things that will have shocking implications on his return to the present.

This arc has been adapted into a pair of audio plays (albeit in heavily compressed form).

Satomi Knights Arc

With most of their internal conflicts resolved, the group begins to reorganize into the "Satomi Knights" under Theia's leadership. But while they were growing stronger, so were their enemies. Both Darkness Rainbow (the Dark Magical Girls opposing Yurika) and the Radical Faction (the warmongerers Kiriha has been holding at bay) are acting on a larger scale than ever before, and they're joined by an ambitious Forthorthean arms dealer who begins seeing himself as Koutarou's rival. At the same time, the setting begins to expand, revealing that all the story's factions and events are far more connected than they previously appeared. Unfortunately the villains have noticed too, and it motivates them to start teaming up.

Most of the short stories in book 20 were originally published online, as part of the Invaders of the Rokujouma: Heracles series.

Forthorthian Civil War Arc (The Golden Princess and the Blue Knight)

Tensions between Forthorthe's military and its empress (introduced in the previous arc) have finally spilled into a full-blown Military Coup. The only way to prevent a tyrant from seizing control of the Empire is for history to repeat itself - the Blue Knight and his companions must march across Forthorthe once again. But at the same time, Koutarou is reluctant to reveal his identity - not only does he still feel unworthy of Forthorthe's devotion, but the truth of "the empress is backed by the Second Coming of the Blue Knight himself" sounds so insane that revealing it could look like poorly-executed propaganda and throw the situation even further into chaos.

In the final battle, the leader of the coup, Vandarion, goes insane after the loss of his chief associate, and fuses his mech and a Whirlpool of Chaos to become an nigh unstoppable monster threatening Forthorthe's existence. Just when all hope seems lost, the Satomi Knights forge a new sword for Koutarou to wield, and infused with the wishes of Forthorthe's citizens, slays Vandarion.

First Contact Arc

Following the defeat of Vandarion, the heroes have finally returned to Room 106. However, their peace is interrupted by Forthorthe revealing itself to the governments of Earth and establishing formal diplomatic relations. With the true origins of both the Folsarians and the People of the Earth now known, a delicate political situation unfolds as Forthorthe tries to extricate its lost colonists back home... without anyone on Earth realising the existence of magic or spiritual energy (things which Forthorthe itself is still helpless to fight against). Not helping things is that The Remnant of Vandarion's forces have concealed themselves on Earth, and are now spreading Forthorthean weapons technology and sabotaging negotiations in an attempt to make the Blue Knight's homeworld destroy itself.

And that's not the only change. During their final battle in Forthorthe, a new holy sword was forged by linking the souls of all ten invaders, and in its aftermath they've developed strange new abilities. The Final Trial has arrived, in which the truth of Room 106 will finally see the light of day.
