  • The first night in the Apartment. Sanae is trying to scare Koutarou awake and the first time we hear him talk in his sleep he says, " Mmm...Mackenzie, just apologize to Mackinley already." Then in Volume Thirty after Kenji's little sister finds out that he is The Casanova we get.:"Turns out going after just anyone was a bad move, Mackenzie, Better just go ahead and get on your hands and knees and apologize." That is a Brick Joke that takes over ten 'years' to get to the punchline.
  • Kiriha doesn't figure out that Koutarou is her first love for almost a year because she's smart enough to do the math and figure out how old his mother should have been when the accident occurs that kills her. Except she is off by ten years because she met a sixteen year old time traveling Koutarou not the six year-old boy.
  • The demon that is attempting to kill Maki in Volume 8 keeps making panicked references to "Vadra." Readers of Volume 7.5 may recognize this as a corrupted reference to the Blue Knight's full name, Layous Fatra Veltlion, so this foreshadows the relationship of Folsaria with the Forthorthe in the age of the Silver Princess.
  • Arbitrarily Large Bank Account: In Volume 9, when Ruth learns that Koutarou is the Blue Knight, narrative commentary tells the reader that the Blue Knight's salary is still on the books. This particular gun fires spectacularly in Volume 25. Queen Alaia wrote into the Forthorthian Constitution that the Blue Knight receives a compensation - in perpetuity - at 1% of the defense budget of the nation of Forthorthe (about 0.1% of the total budget), which over 2,000 years becomes a galactic empire. Obviously, since nobody expects his return after a few hundred years, the money is diverted to other uses, but it still accrues as a payable on their books. After all this time, just the accrued base pay is on the order of the annual budget of a multi-galactic empire. With interest? It likely exceeds the annual economic output of the entire empire by a factor of over 100. And it becomes accessible once the government acknowledges Koutarou as the actual Blue Knight, not a descendant or imitator. While Koutarou's major concerns are spiking Elexis's plans and buying ice cream for the Invaders - admittedly a strain on the average 18 year old's budget - it's clear that he can execute his hostile takeover of Elexis's Dragon Knight Industries without disturbing the lint on his pocket change.
    • To give a concrete example: Canonically, Forthorthe entered its information and space age about 1000 years ago. For the sake of argument, assume that exactly 1000 years ago, the annual budget was about the same as the current United States budget, in round numbers $5 trillion per year. For that year, Koutarou's salary at 0.1% of the total budget would be $5 billion (slightly higher if 1% of the defense budget is used). That is his base salary. Now apply interest at a very modest 1% per year, which equates to a doubling time of 70 years. 1000 years means that interest doubles that salary 14.3 times. That means Koutarou's drawing potential from that one year of compensation is $5 billion multiplied by 2 raised to the 14.3 power (2^^14 * cube root of 2), or $104.4 trillion dollars, a figure on the order of the total annual economic output of Earth. Multiply by 2000...
    • In Volume 40, Maki (as the Satomi Knight's treasurer) says that, as near as she or the government of Forthorthe can figure, the debt amounts to "the annual budget with a few zeros added." Assuming Forthorthe operates as a social democracy at about the same scale as modern Japan or the United States, the government budget accounts for something on the order of 10% of the annual economic output, and that number is turn is on the order of 10% of the value of the real and intellectual property of the economy. So in principle, Koutarou owns the entire Holy Forthorthian Intergalactic Empire roughly 10 - 100 times over. Everyone is lucky that he's only interested in a modest personal salary (presumably still drawn from Theia's purse) and any expenses he incurs in serving the Empire - and that he's seriously interested in making DKI pay for his investment in the company through profitable economic return.
    • As Elexis says, "...a second Signaltin..."
