Ian Wright (still played by Nick Jonas) returns, kidnaps Grover's daughter, and demands a ransom of $100 million, at the same time that Wo Fat escapes from prison.- Bad Guys Do the Dirty Work: It's ultimately the criminal Wo Fat that puts a permanent end to Ian's scheming rather than the good guys.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Ian's actions manage to disgust Wo Fat enough to earn a fatal bullet.
- Karma Houdini Warranty: After escaping without consequence in his first appearance and nearly doing so again this time around, Ian Wright learns the hard way that Wo Fat is far more willing to just kill him than Five-0 was.
- Season Finale: This is the final episode of the show's fourth season.
- Sixth Ranger: Due to betraying the trust of the HPD SWAT team in order to get Ian's ransom money and save his daughter, Grover is forced to resign, but McGarrett immediately offers him a new job as part of Five-0.
- You Said You Would Let Them Go: When Wo Fat helps Grover's daughter escape, Ian admits that he was going to kill her regardless of whether or not Grover gave him the ransom money. Wo Fat immediately decides that Ian doesn't deserve to live any longer.
