The team investigates the death of a real estate agent whose body was found in the walls of one of his listings. Danny's mother visits with unexpected news.- My Greatest Failure: Grover tells McGarrett about an incident that still haunts him to this day: a negotiation with a mentally unwell man went awry and led to a murder-suicide involving a young boy. Even after being told by higher-ups that he did everything he could have, Grover still blamed himself and drove away his friends and family with his resulting rage at everything.
- Stepford Smiler: After Danny's mom takes Grace out of school early in order to get makeovers and hang out by a pool, Danny confronts her about how cheerful she's been since the recent family development; she admits that just because she has "a song in her head" it doesn't mean she isn't feeling horrible and trying to cope with the situation.
