As Gordon tries to stop the Court's plan, Ivy does her best to heal Selina's wounds.

  • Blatant Lies: Lee tries to insist her feelings for Mario are playing no part in her desire to see Jim locked up. Harvey calls her out on it.
  • The Bus Came Back:
    • Hugo Strange, having been found by the Court since Fish kidnapped him, is again their scientist.
    • Barnes, who is broken out of Arkham by the Court.
    • Tetch, who watches the Court break Barnes out.
  • Cliffhanger: Several:
    • Kathryn learns that Gordon's been playing her this whole time, and lets Barnes loose to kill him.
    • Meanwhile, Penguin finds himself locked up with Nygma in the Court's private prison. Nygma is in shock, while Penguin instinctively tries to kill him in a futile move.
  • Entertainingly Wrong: Lee is convinced that Gordon killed his uncle to make it look like suicide when in fact in was the opposite — a suicide made to look like a murder.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: It's made quite clear how much Ivy cares for Selina, as she's willingly to do anything to save her.
    • The Court reveals this as well. It turns out each member of the Court has a list of people they love/care about enough to spare them from being "judged".
  • Harmful to Minors: A little girl reacts to the announcement of a Hate Plague bomb by falling to the floor and crying instead of running. Gordon has to scramble to get her clear before shutting the virus mist inside the ballroom.
  • Hate Plague: The Court has weaponized Alice Tetch's blood virus, and intends to spread it across Gotham.
  • Internal Reveal:
    • Gordon and Bullock fill Lucius in on the Court.
    • Gordon and Nygma find out Penguin is alive.
    • Kathryn realizes that Gordon's been playing her.
  • Joker Immunity: Lampshaded by Gordon's lack of real surprise when Penguin shows up alive and well.
Penguin: I am rather hard to kill.
  • Kid Amid the Chaos: When the test site for the weaponized virus is being evacuated, there is a crying child that Gordon has to rescue at the last second.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Neither Fox nor Harvey nor Jim tell Lee about Gordon's plans to stop the Court from destroying Gotham. It only makes her hate Gordon more, though it's doubtful the truth would make a difference anyway.
  • Mythology Gag: In the comics, Poison Ivy found a critically injured Harley Quinn and used her brilliance with plants to treat Quinn's injuries and save her life, which is what Ivy does here with Selina.
  • Noodle Incident: The Court somehow rescued Strange from Fish. Strange's comments imply that he'd rather be with Fish, as trying to keep her alive was a much more stimulating challenge for him than creating bioweapons for the Court.
  • Not Quite Dead: Selina did survive her fall... but there's nothing the doctors can do to stop the inevitable. It takes Ivy's special healing powers to bring Selina back, and then only just barely.
  • Oh, Crap!: A dual reaction when Oswald and Ed are imprisoned in cells, Ed to see Oswald alive and Oswald to see Ed.
  • Playing Both Sides: Hugo aids both the Court and Gordon, ensuring his survival no matter who wins. Gordon calls him out on this.
  • Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: Lee decides to leave Gotham, as she's let her hatred of Gordon alienate her from all her friends.
  • Shut Up, Hannibal!: Gordon is finally getting fed up with Lee's self-righteous taunts, point-blank telling her to accept the fact that Mario was about to kill her because of the Tetch virus, and that he has no regrets that he had to kill him to save her.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: As soon as Selina gets wakes up from her coma, she immediately declares she's going to Wayne Manor to kill Bruce's clone.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Quoted word by word by Lee as Harvey refuses to investigate Gordon.
