Every Saturday on the front lawn of Foster’s, the Imaginary Friends go outside, hang out and hope to find a new family at an event called “Adopt-a-Thought Saturday.” Of course, Bloo is not allowed out because he is not up for adoption. But when Mac and Bloo realize that these families might adopt all their other friends, they begin to concoct elaborate plans to sabotage their friends’ chances and get their buddies back safe into the house! But with Bloo stuck in the house, it’s tough for Mac to pull off the schemes without Frankie and Mr. Herriman noticing. And when Wilt starts to suspect, Mac and Bloo find themselves resorting to desperate measures!

Tropes:

  • Banister Slide: Coco does one at the beginning of the episode.
  • Body Wipe:
    • Happens twice in a row when Mac chases Coco.
    • Where Bloo is running away from a group of kids.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: Mac - in comparison to his Sane Straight Man personality - actually helps Bloo in one of his schemes in forcing the friends back into the house and stop them from being adopted. Something Mac wouldn't do in seasons later. Can also cross with Out-of-Character Moment depending if it's watched in production/airing order.
  • Half-Dressed Cartoon Animal: Lampshaded; while Mac claims to Mr. Herriman that he's bringing Coco in because she's embarrassed about being nude(he's really trying to avoid her being adopted), Herriman points out that most imaginary friends are nude. Mac calls him "Pantless Joe" in response, prompting Herriman to cover his (offscreen) crotch. He's seen wearing a pair of overalls the rest of the episode.
  • Idiot Ball: Mac apparently didn't know that imaginary friends were supposed to be adopted. Something he and Bloo learned in the pilot movie!.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After basically causing amuck during a Adopt-a-Thought Saturday, Mac and Bloo spend the next Adopt-a-Thought Saturday locked in a closet tied up with their mouths taped shut, made even better by Wilt - who they did the same thing to earlier - giving an Ironic Echo to the two before locking the door as they make futile pleas.
Wilt: (mockingly) Sorry, but believe me, this hurts me more than it hurts you.
  • Operation: [Blank]: Parodied with "Operation Eight-legged-drop-big-purple-scaredy-cat-run-and-scramble" or, in layman's terms:
Bloo: We're going to drop this big spider on Eduardo, he'll freak out, and everyone will run away.
  • Squashed Flat: Bloo, when a giant, gorilla-like imaginary friend is launched through the window and lands on him.

This hurts me/us than you.

Quite the ironic echo.

How well does it match the trope?
