* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: Mac - in comparison to his [[OnlySaneMan Sane]] StraightMan personality - actually helps Bloo in one of his schemes in forcing the friends back into the house and stop them from being adopted. Something Mac would'nt do in seasons later. Can also cross with OutOfCharacterMoment depending if it's watched in production/airing order.

* LaserGuidedKarma: After basically causing amuck during a Adopt-a-Thought Saturday, Mac and Bloo spend the next Adopt-a-Thought Saturday locked in a closet tied up with their mouths taped shut, made even better by Wilt - who they did the same thing to earlier - giving an IronicEcho to the two before locking the door as they make futile pleas.

* IdiotBall: Mac apparently didn't know that imaginary friends were supposed to be adopted. He learned this in ''the very first episode''.

Mac and Bloo try to save their friends from getting adopted on Adopt-a-Thought Saturday.

----
!!Tropes:

* BodyWipe:
** Happens twice in a row when Mac chases Coco.
** Where Bloo is running away from a group of kids.
* HalfDressedCartoonAnimal: [[LampshadeHanging Lampshaded]]; while Mac claims to Mr. Herriman that he's bringing Coco in because she's embarrassed about being nude(he's really trying to avoid her being adopted), Herriman points out that most imaginary friends are nude. Mac calls him "Pantless Joe" in response, prompting Herriman to [[HandOrObjectUnderwear cover his (offscreen) crotch.]] He's seen wearing a pair of overalls the rest of the episode.
* IdiotBall: Mac apparently didn't know that imaginary friends were supposed to be adopted. He learned this in ''the very first episode''.
* OperationBlank: Parodied with "Operation Eight-legged-drop-big-purple-scaredy-cat-run-and-scramble" or, in layman's terms:
-->'''Bloo:''' We're going to drop this big spider on Eduardo, he'll freak out, and everyone will run away.
* SquashedFlat: Bloo, when a giant, gorilla-like imaginary friend is launched through the window and lands on him.
