Scrooge's nephews are trying to figure out just who Gizmoduck's secret identity is. So far, their predictions all point to Launchpad McQuack.
This episode contains examples of the following tropes:
- Borrowed Catchphrase: Launchpad tells the reporters at the press conference that the rumors that he's Gizmoduck are a bunch of "blathering blatherscythe". If only he knew that was the activation phrase for the Gizmoduck armor and that the armor would be near someone watching the conference.
- Call-Back: When Launchpad gets trapped inside the Gizmoduck suit, he says that he feels like a "canned tuna." This is very close to what Fenton said when he first got stuck inside the suit (he said, "I'm being canned like a tuna!").
- Dude, Where's My Respect?: At one point Fenton begs Scrooge to let him tell his nephews his secret just so he can get the glory for once.
- Falling into the Cockpit: After accidentally getting the Gizmo suit on himself, Launchpad tries to get it off, only to end able causing havoc by randomly pushing its buttons. This ends up finally convincing everyone that he's not Gizmoduck.
- Flock of Wolves: Fenton believes that he'll able to convince Huey, Dewey, and Louie that Launchpad isn't Gizmoduck if they both show up at the Gizmoduck tribute party. Unfortunately, due to nearly everybody else there being dressed as him, he's unable to convince the triplets he's the real deal, with them continuing to stick to Launchpad as he's the only one there who wasn't wearing a costume.
- Here We Go Again!: By the end of the episode the triplets have finally realized Gizmoduck isn't Launchpad...and have decided the most likely candidate is Mrs. Beakley instead. At least Fenton is #2 on their list.
- Idiot Ball: This episode only works because Huey, Dewey and Louie somehow completely forget all the times they've seen Launchpad and Gizmoduck together.
- Instantly Proven Wrong: Played for Laughs when Launchpad, unaware that he had triggered the Gizmo suit, capped off his public address to the press by saying that he was NOT Gizmoduck. Three seconds later, the suit latches onto him in front of everyone.Launchpad: (Bewildered) Of course, I've been wrong before.
- My Life Flashed Before My Eyes: Scrooge says "My life passed before my eyes . . . backwards." Launchpad had just flown Scrooge cross-country, and crashed, flying backwards. The front landing gear was stuck.
- Not Helping Your Case: A bizarre example; Launchpad was trying to convince everyone in Duckberg not that he hadn't done a bad thing, but that he wasn't doing good things. After he was mistaken for Gizmoduck, things started to get out of hand, so he went on live TV to tell everyone he wasn't Gizmoduck; but accidentally said the command word for Fenton's armor, while his mother, who was keeping it in her trailer, was watching the broadcast. After the armor flew all the way across town and affixed itself to Lauchpad in the middle of his denial, it kind of spoiled it. (Fortunately - or unfortunately, depending on your point of view - people realized he wasn't Gizmoduck after he wrecked half the city in a vain attempt to control the suit.)
- Your Costume Needs Work: Gizmoduck gets this when he goes to a party in his honor, only for everyone else to be dressed as him. No one believes he's the real guy and he tries to prove he is by showing the mechanics of his suit, which the other people have as well.
