Eugene, bored after the Dragon Club disbanded last episode, tries to get the team back together. When that fails, he tries to form his own team. Meanwhile, Jun and Tom observe a meeting between Buzzsaw and Sledkin.

- Anger Born of Worry: After catching Carla, who fell from a dragon, Alex snaps at Eugene asking him how he could even think putting together a new team under his leadership could work. In response, Eugene dissolves his new team.
- The Bus Came Back: Nibbles makes his first named appearance since Season 2.
- Continuity: This episode shows that while the riders are still on speaking terms, there remains enough tension that they aren't ready yet to reassemble as the Dragon Club.
- Death Glare: After catching Carla, who fell from a dragon, Alex gives Eugene one for putting her mom (who is afraid of heights) in danger.
- The Friend Nobody Likes: Subverted. When Sledkin and Buzzsaw discover Eugene in one of Buzzsaw's traps and he bluffs about his friends having them surrounded, Sledkin calls his bluff saying they aren't really his friends and he's just Jun's brother who latches on. However, soon after she is disproven when Jun and Tom arrive promising to save him and D'Angelo and Alex follow suit having looked for him out of genuine worry.
- Funny Background Event: When Buzzsaw has his team surround the bickering Dragon Riders, Linda takes off one of her shoes and holds it up ready to throw it.
- The Leader: Eugene forms his own team of Riders declaring himself as their leader. It doesn't last long.
- Nerves of Steel: When Sledkin meets with Buzzsaw, Buzzsaw's dragon Jack stands up to its full height, wings spread and a threatening expression on his face as if he were ready to incinerate Sledkin at any moment. Sledkin doesn't even flinch at this and goes on to casually tell Buzzsaw that she doesn't need his permission to mine for Dragoncite.
- Pass the Popcorn: When all the riders arrive at the clearing where Eugene and the Sledkin-Buzzsaw alliance are facing off, they start questioning each other's reason for being there. This soon causes their ongoing tensions to boil over again, much to the surprise and delight of the villains. While the riders are arguing and bickering amongst each other, the villains stand off to the side for a while, enjoying the show.Buzzsaw: Wow, they ARE a mess!Linda: Can we stay and watch?
- Putting the Band Back Together: Out of boredom, Eugene attempts to reunite the dragon riders for a mission. Since D'Angelo and Alex are busy with their own things and Jun and Tom are on a date, it fails.
- Shock Stick: When Buzzsaw has his team surround the bickering dragon riders, Sledkin pulls out a retractable rod which can generate electricity.
- Villain Team-Up: This episode sees Sledkin and Buzzsaw form a partnership.
- Wham Episode: Sledkin and Buzzsaw form an alliance.
