Tropes:
- Adapted Out:
- The entire Ginyu Force is killed immediately by Goku's ship crashing on them, which still ends with Goku being placed in a recovery pod.
- Freeza's third form isn't shown. Lampshaded by Krillin, who questions what happened to it after Freeza goes from his second form to his fourth and final form. The Canadian subtitles quip that Ridley Scott sued them.
- Anti-Climax: Goku's transformation into a Super Saiyan takes very little time, and is accented by a squeaky noise.
- Call-Back: Guru is hilarious and you will quote everything he says.
- Dies Differently in Adaptation:
- The entire Ginyu Force is nonchalantly killed by Goku's ship crashing in them, adapting out the entire Ginyu Force arc.
- Guru dies the same peaceful way he died in the original series rather than his... less than peaceful death in Abridged.Guru: Hey guys. Dying.
Namek Villager: Do you have any last words, sir?
Guru: I am hilarious... and you will quote... everything... I... say...
Namek Villager: Ehh, he'll be missed.
- Disproportionate Retribution: Goku punches Freeza once and Freeza calls him a prick and tries to blow up the planet.
- Freeze-Frame Bonus: In addition to the usual Solar Flare image (in this case Lanipator dressed as Dr. Frank-N-Furter), the interior of Goku's ship is visible for one frame when it crashes and explodes.
- Gratuitous Japanese: "No, Freeza-dono, yamete!" (Or, in Goku's case, Freezer.)
- Ironic Echo: Instead of Gohan going "NOOOOO!!!" when Freeza shot Piccolo, he instead says "Why... didn't... you... DOOOODGE?!", similar to when Piccolo says this after Taking the Bullet for Gohan when they fought Nappa.
- Laughing Mad: Vegeta spends three scenes maniacally laughing as things go his way (collecting the dragon balls, killing Zarbon and kneeing Gohan in the chest).
- Overly Long Gag: Guru renaming himself takes two scenes, and is partially skipped over by other scenes.Nail: (gives Krillin the Dragon Ball) Just take the thing, he'll be at this for a while.
- Rapid-Fire Comedy: Just like the previous Kai episode, jokes are constantly being thrown out every few seconds.
- Running Gag:
- The Dragon Balls are constantly referred to as "The Thing" or "The Things".
- Most of Dende's lines are just him nonchalantly saying "Hey."
- Self-Deprecation:
- Vegeta's response to "Team Three Star" could be the writers expressing regret, because they didn't find the joke funny either.Vegeta: That's not funny! It's never been funny! It's never gonna be funny!!
- The video completely edits out the Ginyu Force Arc and Freeza's third form, but the episode is still three times as long the first Kai parody.
- At the very end, Nappa is shown unsubscribing from Team Four Star in response to seeing the episode.
- Vegeta's response to "Team Three Star" could be the writers expressing regret, because they didn't find the joke funny either.
- Suddenly Shouting: Inverted by Vegeta's 'Team Three Star' rant.THAT'S NOT FUNNY! IT'S NEVER BEEN FUNNY! IT'S NEVER GONNA BE FUNNY! Put on these clothes, Imma nap.
- Together We Are X: The Ginyu Force begin to say this, only to get Killed Mid-Sentence.
Nappa: Aaaaand unsubscribed.
