Another quiet night in St. Canard... or not
Drake just wants to take a nap, but is interrupted again and again. Lilliput is introduced as a villain who steals and shrinks monuments for "Goony Golf," his miniature golf course.
This episode contains examples of the following tropes:
- Aerith and Bob: The two germs who help Darkwing by giving Lilliput a cold in the climax are named Blob and Ray.
- Corrupted Character Copy: Lilliput, much like Ant-Man, uses a shrink ray and a device that lets him talk to ants, but unlike Pym primarily uses these for crime and is a Mean Boss to his ants.
- Big Eater: Launchpad's appetite is a big Running Gag in this episode.
- Failed a Spot Check: Darkwing is so busy scanning the ground for clues, bragging about how nothing escapes his notice, he fails to notice the skyscrapers disappearing behind him.
- Giant Foot of Stomping: A shrunken Darkwing sees a giant foot about to step on him. He flees but the foot steps on his cape. After escaping, he finds out that the giant foot was actually Gosalyn.
- Mickey Mousing: When Darkwing tries to get Launchpad's attention while hang-gliding, "Shoo Fly, Don't Bother Me" appropriately plays.
- Mini-Golf Episode: The villain runs a mini-golf course, and steals buildings in order to decorate it.
- Polka-Dot Disease: Darkwing gets shrunk down to a microscopic size and the villain starts having sneezing fits, then his skin turns green with orange spots and he gets pink stripes on his tongue. When Darkwing goes back to regular size, he announces that he befriended two germs, who infected the villain. Unfortunately, Darkwing and his friends also get the illness.
- Pyrrhic Victory: After defeating the bad guys, Darkwing and his crew get ill. Darkwing is just glad that he gets to have his sleep.
- Punny Name: Lilliput, in addition to having a Shrink Ray, runs a golf course.
- Shout-Out: Lilliput is a country of tiny people in Gulliver's Travels.
- Shrink Ray: Lilliput invents a shrink ray and a device that allows him to communicate with ants... and proceeds to use them to decorate his mini-golf course with stolen buildings and monuments.
- Soda Can Shakeup: Gosalyn and Honker drive off Lilliput's ant army by blasting them with shook up cans of Coo-Coo Cola.
- Stock Scream: One of the ants does a sped-up version of the Goofy yell after "playing chicken" with Darkwing.
