- Drives Like Crazy: Chris hits three parked cars and bounces his car off a guard rail several times while leaving a parking garage at the start of the car chase with the dentist.
- Early-Installment Weirdness: Chris is openly aware of Elise working on a supercomputer and notes her ability to perform an emergency tracheostomy. In later episodes, he is blissfully unaware of all aspects of her job and skills.
- The End... Or Is It?: The ending reveals that Dan's dentist somehow survived Dan blowing up his lair with him in it with no noticeable injuries aside from shattered teeth.

Chris: It's a guy with a chainsaw in an orphanage. What's not to—whoa, momma! That's a lot of blood. - Oh, Crap!: Pullum over finding Dan and Chris at his office ready to drill a hole in his face.
- Pre-Asskicking One-Liner: "Open wide!"
- Sadist: Pullum says that he's enjoyed causing countless children pain over the years.
- The Scream: Parodied when Chris is about to use a hot glue gun on Dan's mouth. Cutting to a distant shot of the city, Dan screams bloody murder before Chris has even done anything.
