Dan seeks revenge on a ninja after one steals his cookies and leaves him covered in lactose free milk. Little does he know that the ninja is planning a vendetta against Elise, who may end up interfering with Dan’s initial revenge attempt.
This episode provides examples of the following tropes:
- Bad Impressionists: Chris dresses up as Dan to act as a decoy, and he tries to imitate his attitude by saying, "I'm Dan! I get mad at everything, then I yell a lot. And I sure don't appreciate my friend Chris!"
- "Everybody Laughs" Ending: Parodied, when Ninja Dave pulls a katana on Dan, he puts it away and says, "Just kidding," though he's the only one laughing.
- Flashback: Subverted when Elise starts to say, "It's a long, long story," harp music starts to play, and the screen starts to ripple... but then she says, "I don't want to talk about it," and everything goes back to normal.
- Heel–Face Turn: After this episode, Ninja Dave becomes a recurring extra who Dan frequently buys cookies from.
- Knight Templar: Even when Dave's clearly lost, Dan keeps trying to get Elise to kill Ninja Dave just for eating his cookies. He stops though when Ninja Dave replaces them.
- Mushroom Samba: When Chris gets hit by a poison dart, he begins to hallucinate several non-sensical scenarios. When he calls 911, he mentions being attacked by flying monkeys, confusing the operator, before nonchalantly mentioning he's been poisoned.
- Ninja: Obviously. Ninja Dave grew up in a clan of ninjas, thus becoming skilled in combat, hiding, and crime. He dons traditional Japanese weapons and an all-black outfit.
