Team Diddly assemble for a much needed building project and Jeremy brings in the Chairman of the British Deer Society to help with the deer management issues on the farm.
— Synopsis
Now in summer, the creation of a much-needed car park was proceeding, with Charlie in his office gathering prospective quotes for a car park to be built on the land, Kaleb having created a cider for sale at the farm shop and Clarkson now "the mushroom king of Chipping Norton", delivering mushrooms daily to numerous businesses and restaurants. Some time after, Clarkson and Lisa head down to the bunker to remove the bags of mushrooms, having been exhausted and in need of replacing; as they remove the bags, Charlie arrives, talking to Clarkson about the quotes given by three contractors for a carpark, the three quotes costing £67,000 "plus some provisional sums", £80,000 "plus a bit" and £94,127 respectively, with the last proposal considered the most complete by Charlie. Clarkson is shocked at all three prices, unable to believe that the construction of a carpark would cost this much; this opinion is shared by Charlie. Unable to accept these prices, Clarkson opts to build the carpark himself.

Clarkson and Lisa then take the spent bags to a compost bed, knowing there would be a chance that mushrooms could still grow out of the bags. While Lisa unloads the bags, Clarkson struggles to put on a glove; he then receives an email from the testing company testing the mushrooms concerning the tests and further steps required, which would require paperwork to be done for further tests. Knowing Lisa's attitude towards doing paperwork, Clarkson opts to do it himself; filling up the form to the best of his ability, Clarkson bags a sample and sends it off to the testing agency. Clarkson and Lisa then proceed to disinfect the bunker and restock it with new mushroom bags.

A few days later when the shop was closed, Clarkson assembles Lisa, Alan and Kaleb to get them up to speed on his plans to build a carpark. Alan states the build would take a month, while Clarkson wants it done in two days, an idea which Alan shoots down immediately. Despite this, with Clarkson, Lisa, Alan and Kaleb at the controls of various construction equipment, they remove most of the topsoil within two days and apply plastic sheeting to the surface. Alan soon after instructs Clarkson and Kaleb to grab stone for the carpark; they hurry over to the quarry to grab the stone. While Kaleb loads the stone onto Clarkson's tractor, Clarkson tells Kaleb over walkie-talkie that it would be nice for someone else to drive Kaleb's tractor to allow them to move the stone faster; just as Clarkson finishes, Gerald drives up in his van and is immediately put on tractoring duties, hauling stone to the carpark to the sight of a jubilant Alan.

As Gerald unloads another batch of stone, Alan and him converse over the radio. Lisa now was using a Bomag single-drum roller to pave the carpark. Clarkson meanwhile was bouncing up and down on his seat while transporting the stone in his tractor, and so was Gerald; when they next meet, Gerald notes he would be unlikely to continue as the bouncing would make him feel nauseated, with Clarkson stating that they "would manage". Now down to one trailer, Clarkson soon realizes that his two-day deadline for building the carpark was quite optimistic, with Kaleb affirming that thought over walkie-talkie. An aerial shot via a drone reveals a partially-finished carpark, but Alan's rubbishing of Clarkson's two-day deadline might have been valid; Lisa questions Alan if they were going to be there next week, to which Alan scoffs.

With no work on the carpark able to be done on account of the shop being open, Clarkson turns his mind to more pressing matters; one such matter is the pigs, who were due to go into labor in a few weeks. Not wishing to have the same situation regarding the piglets's deaths, Clarkson calls a meeting with the designers of the arks to design an implement for the arks to prevent further deaths. Clarkson would then turn his attention to the deer numbers on his farm, aiming to reduce their numbers on the farm; he meets Hugh van Cutsem, hunter and chairman of the British Deer Society, for advice. At the farm, Hugh demonstrates to Clarkson on how to assemble a suppressed Blaser R8 bolt-action hunting rifle; they later take the rifle out as well as associated paraphernalia for target practice. Before they practice, Clarkson and Hugh discuss on methods of managing the deer population.

With Clarkson loading the rifle, target practice commences; Clarkson lands a hit on the left target. Hugh requests Clarkson shoot again to prove that the shot was not a fluke; with each subsequent shot, Clarkson gets closer to the bullseyes. Chambering a new round, Clarkson is instructed to shoot the "heart" of a roe target, which he successfully hits; he then successfully hits a muntjac target's "heart", landing five shots out of five in the magazine, to which Clarkson gloats. The next morning, rifle and binoculars in hand, Clarkson and Hugh go out hunting for deer; they soon after spot a buck and set up for the kill. With the buck in range, Hugh instructs Clarkson to pull the trigger although with Clarkson continually hesitating the buck escapes into the long grass and the two move on to find another deer.

They soon reach a tree saddle, which they climb up to scout for another deer; shortly after, the same buck pops out of the grass, with Clarkson proceeding to shoot the buck on Hugh's instruction. The screen abruptly fades to black before cutting to sausage sandwiches at the farm shop made from the buck's meat; "saving some trees" and "providing an inexpensive lunch" for shopgoers in the process. The next day, the shop was closed, which meant work on the carpark could resume; Lisa assigned herself to the roller, while Clarkson uses a Kobelco digger to dig a drainage ditch in the brush. As he digs through the bushes, Clarkson gets a phone call; the call turns out to be from brewer Rick Keene, who calls Clarkson to inform of exploding cider. Clarkson immediately calls Kaleb and they head down to the Cotswold Brewing Company to talk things over with Rick and access the damage.

Rick determines that the most likely cause of the exploding bottles of cider was that fermentation was still going on in the bottle when it was going on sale, so Clarkson, Kaleb and Rick decide to open a test bottle to experiment; the test all but confirms that fermentation that still was going on in the bottle. To inform customers of the situation, Clarkson tweets an expletive-laden warning informing buyers of the Hawkstone Cider on what to do if they had gotten a potential bottle of the exploding cider.

Following this, Clarkson returns to ditch-digging duties, whereupon he receives another phone call informing him that the attachments for his ark have arrived; he and Kaleb meet the two designers of the device, where they install it in Unit's ark as well as the arks of the other sows. Following this, Clarkson and Kaleb rush back to continue work on the carpark, where Clarkson discovers that his tweet about the recall of Hawkstone Cider had reached local news, as well as other customers sharing their thoughts on the situation on Twitter. With the carpark still not finished, Clarkson makes a decision to continue work the next day, despite the shop being open.

This idea is quickly foiled when Clarkson and Lisa discover that cars are parked in the ostensibly unfinished carpark, causing no work to be able to be done; Lisa attempts to have shopgoers move their cars to a temporary overflow carpark but is unable to get any to do so. Soon after, Alan and Clarkson talk with a soil aerator who just so happened to stop by at the farm; on Alan's advice Clarkson asks for the business card of the aerator. With Lisa continuing to move cars to the overflow carpark, Clarkson stops by the bunker to check on his mushrooms; he soon discovers that while the mushrooms were growing fine, there was mold growing on a number of the bags despite there being numerous precautions and measures taken to stop the spread of mold. He would soon discover that the pipe feeding the fan in the bunker was contaminated with mold and was reeking of a horrible smell, causing him to gag.

Removing the moldy bags, Clarkson totals up potential lost revenue; 68 bags were declared to have been ruined, leading to a loss of £1,156. Clarkson then removes the moldy filter and pipes and proceeds to bury them in two different sites, the pipe in the carpark and the filter in a neighboring field a mile away for additional safety by removing the top soil, slaking it with quicklime and then covering it with soil. After a long shower and disinfection, Clarkson returns to the farm to see that the soil aerator has returned and is beginning work on his soil; soon after, Clarkson understands why this was being done. Lisa, Alan and Kaleb stare in awe at the machine, with Kaleb doing some "blasting" duties with the aerator.

Returning to the roller, Kaleb proceeds to do some duties with it; as he hops in and closes the door, the side mirror shatters, much to his shock and exasperation, with Clarkson and Alan mocking him. With the power of teamwork, the carpark was finished shortly after. The next day, Gerald would do work on Clarkson's dry stone walls, with Clarkson giving him a lift home afterwards and getting caught up on the local gossip throughout the town. After dropping Gerald off, Clarkson went to pick up the goats, having come up with a new business plan to rent out the goats to other farms to clear out their brambles and earn him some money.

Clarkson's first client was "a friend who owned a bit of land next to him"; he would however have to come to the friend's farm to meet his land agent. On reaching the plot of land, Clarkson stands around, wondering what to do with nobody around; suddenly, a figure emerges from the bushes, and it would soon become apparent that the land agent is Charlie. After some discussion on pricing for Clarkson's goat rentals, Clarkson and Charlie agree on a price of £121. This income stream was sorely needed for Clarkson, with his mushrooms continually ravaged by the mold; Clarkson would later admit that Lisa's lion's mane powder idea would be important to create a much-needed income stream from the mushrooms.

The day of the results for the tests would arrive, with Lisa receiving the results on her phone; she would soon discover that the tests for the samples Clarkson had sent over had failed, leading there to be no viable income stream for the mushrooms for the moment. Now in mid-August and near the end of another farming year, Clarkson worries about the income stream and the conclusion of the contest, having tried everything he could think of to "farm the unfarmed", with some ideas working like the mushrooms, pigs and jam and others not like the nettle. This spotlight would soon shift however with harvest time, with Clarkson now keen to see what kind of profits Kaleb would be making with his crops.
